who will justify you on judgement day?, yourself...? we will be Judged by Jesus according to HIS words and His words Only, do you get it now?

JUSTIFIED>>>> a status declared by Christ Jesus based on the gift of salvation, the righteousness He has imputed to us because of His completed work and our trusting Him for the gift.

no verses again .........

Not gonna play the verse game ...goes nowhere.

Saved means saved,

not quasi saved,
not almost saved,
not maybe saved,
not tentatively saved,
not I need to please God to be saved,
not sometimes saved,
not stay saved by good works obedience saved
not fickle saved,
not human effort saved,
not will I measure up saved.

>>>>>> and justified in scripture means justified.
Words have meaning.

JUSTIFIED>>>> a status declared by Christ Jesus based on the gift of salvation, the righteousness He has imputed to us because of His completed work and our trusting Him for the gift.

Get your eyes off yourself.
Justification is only the beginning.
What we do with this justification is what will determine our fate.

Jesus said that we are to ABIDE in Him.
Abide means to live with....it's an ongoing action...it has to continue.

If we stop abiding/remaining in Jesus...we will be tossed aside like a branch that has been broken off.

John 15:5-6
5I am the vine and you are the branches. The one who remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing.

6If anyone does not remain in Me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are gathered up, thrown into the fire, and burned.

Jesus is teaching that we are to abide IN Him...
We are to REMAIN IN Him.....

Notice that only believers are IN JESUS and are abiding IN Him....
THEY can be discarded IF they leave Him.

predestination? I don't think so, the verses you used are good, God does give us A choice ( see verses below) , this is in scripture, if it was predestination there would be no choice to make. God wants to see our hearts in play in this life, wants to see the choices we make, if we do his will. again many refuse obedience like it was a dirty word, Obedience in God is essential not complicated also. Jesus said clearly to obey the ten commandments to abide in him and to PERSEVERE, Not an easy path but it is the one that leads to eternal life. You have shown these verses but the answer you are seeking is Yes salvation can be Lost.

Below are come verses about CHOICE that GOD puts before us all;

Deuteronomy 30:19-20 (KJV)
“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them."

Joshua 24:15 (KJV)
“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Isaiah 1:19–20 (KJV)
“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:
But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.”

Proverbs 1:29–31 (KJV)
“For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:
They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.
Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.”

Ezekiel 18:30–32 (KJV)
“Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.”

Matthew 7:13–14 (KJV)
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

John 5:39–40 (KJV)
“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.”

Revelation 22:17 (KJV)
“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”

Blessings

You are totally allowed to believe how you want, I'm getting a little worn out, with debating things. I will Say, Matthew 22, sorta covers all those points.

14For many are called, but few are chosen.”

Oh please, that is not about justification.

There is no such thing as nine commandments, its an unbiblical number Deut4:13 Exo34:28 ironically forgetting the one commandment God said Remember that comes with the power of His Blessing Exo20:11 Isa56:2 and Sanctification Gen2:3 Eze20:12 because we can’t do this ourselves Isa66:17, we need God. No wonder why Jesus taught the Sabbath was made for mankindMark2:27, because its a sign between God and His people Eze20:20 and we trust in His sanctification Eze20:12 because He is our Creator Exo20:11 and re-Creator Eze20:12 the only God we are ever told to worship Rev14:7
I never said there are only 9 commandments, as you are stating, NOR am I forgetting one.

The Gentiles were never told to honor Shabbat under the NC. There is no verse telling us to do so.

Who have you ever known that tossed it aside? All the hypotheticals I've seen people try to use as proof for their beliefs, it's all nonsense.
I've posted re: such a person before.

I lost track of him. Maybe he repented. Maybe he didn't.

Maybe I'll look for him after all is said and done and see if he's with us. Then all of our questions about true believers and fake believers, and one-time believers and enduring believers, and OSAS and ES vs. WITHDRAWAL will be fully understood and all our work and speculations will be answered. Maybe we'll finally understand whether human volition was actually important to God or just some fallacy we lived in.

Hi Kinda....
Sorry I fell on this when replying to a member.

It does indeed sound reformed.

But the reason I'm writing to you is that the unquestionable end result of OSAS is the belief that one can sin and still be saved.
This is plainly stated many times on these forums...maybe you missed it.

It is plainly stated that obedience to God is not necessary.

A member just told me, right now (scroll up) GOOD LUCK because I stated that we are required to ACT on the words of Jesus...on what He taught.

OSAS is a doctrine that will lead many straight to hell due to disobedience and God will not tolerate disobedience.

You ask if God knows His?
Of course. God knows everything that will happen in the future.
Knowledge is not determinism.

Even after salvation...man retains the free will to abandon God whenever he wishes to.

As to knowing only at the end of life if one is saved or not.....
this is correct.

Why? Exactly because we cannot know IF we will ENDURE till the end.
Thankfully for us...it is dependant on our will as to whether or not we wish to be saved.

This idea of yours of not knowing till the end does go against the grain of reformed theology GENERALLY speaking...
However, John Calvin did teach that God does pull the rug from under a believer at times.

If you need the book and chapter and paragraph, I'll be happy to look it up.
But you may not need it.

You can believe what you want, don't really want to get caught up in any more debates. I pretty much layed out how I see it, most disagree. Life goes on.

If you want to quote scripture, you came to the right forum.

Sure there is, the Sabbath was made for mankind said Jesus who is God so unless one is not a human-being the Sabbath according to Jesus is made for them Mar2:27-28 Jesus said- if you love Me, keep My commandments John14:15 the commandments have always been for those who love God Exo20:6- Jesus who is God is the one speaking His commandments at Mt Sinai and He prophesized of magnifying them Isa42:21 not a jot or tittle can pass, because who can edit God? Why the saints keep the commandments of God and faith of Jesus until the end of time Rev14:12

Salvation is not just beginning, but enduring

Good luck with the enduring, better reach a higher level than Christ Jesus did... is there a higher level than complete?

I will go with what the Bible actually teaches in its entirety, not one verse here and one verse there.

Justified is Justified.

No issue - it doesn't depend on you for breath.

I know your counter. I know my following counter.

There is no counter to >>>> Justified it justified.

I mean unless one becomes like the Calvies and changes the meanings of words. ;)

I only need one word. ;)

JUSTIFIED!
The real legalism may be treating justification as a non‑relational legal status rather than relational union with Christ. He is our righteousness, and our justification is in union - in relationship - with Him. The question being discussed is whether or not men can walk away from this relationship.

Maybe it's not only the "Calvies" who are changing the meanings and actual context of the words.

Many ways to approach it I guess. Loss of salvation, faith, relationship, etc.

Loss is really not the best way to be discussing it IMO. It's too loaded and too charged by now. The biblical words are withdrawal, falling away, etc.

The word in Heb3:12 some of us were discussing is afistēmi - Lexicall per BDAG: of action that results in the distancing of pers. or thing from pers., thing, place, or condition. 1. to cause someone to move from a reference point, trans., in our lit. in ref. to altering allegiance cause to revolt, mislead; 2. to distance oneself from some pers. or thing: a. go away, withdraw; b. keep away, abstain.

It's part of what "Holy Brothers" & "partakers of [a] heavenly call/invitation" (Heb3:1) are being warned and commanded to not get into and to be guarded against (Heb3).
