I am right now sucking on a cannibus watermelon flavored lollypop.......for med reasons. I am not getting loaded. I am not sinning. Sometimes medical marijuana works when other things don't. If that means I am sinning, then ya'll need to get off your prescription meds. By the way, where I live medical marijuana use is legal.

Smoking anything is dangerous to one's health, and under God we are to take care of our bodies, the temple of the Holy Spirit. So, a sin against oneself and against God it really is.

CBD only i hope!

Let's make this short and sweet, shall we? YES..NO DOUBT..when you inhale your little stash of marijuana into the TEMPLE of GOD...guess what...your brain, your tissues, your organs, your entire body is affected as if you had just desecrated the Holy of Holies in the Temple, spiritually speaking. No excuse, even for 'medical" reasons. Drugs that alter your body that is willingly injested just for fun, sport and entertainment is not a solution to anything. But, will you listen to this anyway?

IS that right, and you are bragging about it>? wow....Why not have a One on ONE contact with your Healer, your Comforter, your Great Physician, the ONE that knows you better than any Doctor that would subscribe cannibus lollipops to you. Have you ever heard of a healing service, or calling the elders of your church together to come into agreement and one accord on this issue that you are having? It matters not if marijuana is legal, or same sex marriage is legal, or gambling is legal, or wife swapping is legal, or abortion is legal...GOD knows differently and HE is the one in whom you should be seeking help from. Are you fully satisfied to suck on marijuana lollipops for the rest of your life as you are doing GOD's work?

Your answer is yes. Your argument is it has a detrimental effect on people and is a hindrance rather than a benefit.

I would say it is not a sin, it is a distraction from dealing with problems in peoples lives, and rather than help them conquer issues through the Holy Spirit and love transforming them, they are just dulling the pain.

It also has long term psychological and addictive effects, that in the UK in terms of skunk are literally destroying lives so ex addicts can only survive if they are on anti-depressants for the rest of their lives

Used in moderation is not a sin if it is legal where you live.

Gen 1:29
And God said, “Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

1 Cor 10:23
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

Is porn lawful if used in moderation? If whether it's legal or not and if used in moderation become the standards, then we've abandoned the Lord for the world and the flesh.

Well read these scriptures and see what you think:

2 Corinthians 7: 1 which says: Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

1 Peter 4:7 - But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

1 Corinthians 3:17 - If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which [temple] ye are.

Ephesians 5:18 - And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Proverbs 20:1 - Wine [is] a mocker, strong drink [is] raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 - Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? (Read More...)

Galatians 5:19-21 - Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, (Read More...)

1 Corinthians 6:10 - Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:12 - I would they were even cut off which trouble you.

1 Corinthians 6:19 - What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost [which is] in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Romans 13:13 - Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.

2 Timothy 4:5 - But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Hosea 4:11 - Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.

1 Samuel 15:23 - For rebellion [is as] the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness [is as] iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from [being] king.

Isaiah 5:11 - Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, [that] they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, [till] wine inflame them!
Almost none of those reference smoking weed in any way. Unless the presumption is that is it bad before you read the verse. Weed is hardly comparable to strong drink neither in effects nor in how it interacts with the body.

The fact is that in 20+ years when its legal everywhere for recreational use, hardly anyone except maybe a handful of fundamental churches will say its bad.

In Genisis God gave man ALL herbs of the earth to use. Paul tells us that all things are permissible but not all are edifiable.

It clearly has medicinal purposes. It clearly has recreational purposes. The only reason I would say the bible is against it is because its illegal (for the most part) and God has placed the governments over us. So if they lift the ban and make it legal... the bible has nothing to say.

As with anything moderation in all. Jesus drank wine, with real alcohol. Heck he produced enough for an entire wedding part as his first miracle. If it was bad what was he doing?

One of the apostles encouraged another to have some wine because he had a medical issue. I cant recall who at the moment.

I would also argue that for some people it greatly enhances their relation and understanding with God.

The only remote relation to biblical verses is that the Magic arts is Greek term “pharmakeia,” in the Book of Revelation which appears in several passages (e.g., Revelation 9:21, 18:23). This word CAN carry the sense of administering potions, engaging in witchcraft, sorcery, or occult practices. The broader concept involves seeking supernatural power apart from the one true God. In Revelation, such practices reflect a stance of rebellion, deception, and allegiance to forces opposed to God’s kingdom. However, sitting down at the end of the day to watch the news and smoke a joint hardly can be fit into this definition.

apples and oranges... by that definition then going to church picnic and having a blast is also a sin. Just because something is enjoyable doesn't make it bad. With porn we have clear directives in the bible about.

Also by your inferred definition any kind of pleasure become an act of the flesh and ungodly.

Well yes smoking in general is sinful, so smoking marijuana is also sinful. The bible says to obey authority and the law, and some comments on here are saying that since it is legal it is not a sin since God has said to obey the law. Well he says to obey the law and authority aslong as it is not a sinful law or act. And i know it also says that you should not indulge anything that may affect your body to the point where you are not in absolute control of it (drinking to drunkenness, pills, and drugs). i hope that helps, if you need specific verses that it says that just ask, but it should be pretty easy to find the verses with google.
there you go... this is incorrect period. smoking a cigarette is about as medically harmful as eating a big steak and patatoe. smoking is not condemned in the bible either. It when we smoke too much or use it in unsafe quantities that it may infringe upon "sin" Which you appear to understand. I have known a number of people who have a beer or a joint and watch a football game... and do not continuously smoke and drink. They aren't in sin.

God wants us to live sober lives for a reason, when we get drunk or high voluntarily. We often dive into things we soon regret and can't take back. It leads to nothing but trouble. People get under the influence because they feel like it's a good way to cope with life when it isn't. There are far better ways out there, you just have to be willing to look.
So apparently not everything that God created was "good", this is basically what your saying. Weed has a purpose. perhaps only in medical use does God accept its use, but we do not know the bible says nothing about it. Any verse you use to defend it as bad, is not empirical and requires that you approach the verse with very loose interpretation and the presupposition that it is bad. Just because drunkenness is bad doesn't mean being high is bad. Now being super high... perhaps... either way believing that the bible condemn marijuana use is a guess not a fact.

We have clear directives in the Bible about sobriety too. No one smokes weed to get sober.
Ok so if i drink a glass of wine am i sober? who draws that line... The bible doesn't condemn non sobriety it suggest sobriety is a good idea especially if you are in a leadership position, and it appears to be required in that case. More importantly is warns against STRONG drink... again... where do you draw that line ? Not everyone smokes it to be unsober... Some people use to relax, like a glass of wine. Since clearly, we see Jesus himself drinking wine and in the earliest stories making vats of it as well as a first miracle we know that wine in and of itself isn't "bad" its all about moderation.

Once you realize that weed, like just about every other potentially intoxicating drug modifies the dopamine and serotonin in the brain which give us pleasure. Guess what ... Drinking coffee (stimulant) and going down a water slide does this as well, or the joy of having a baby... And especially sex within a proper marriage. All these modify the same 2 chemicals in the brain... So for every condemnation about weed you can think of, apply it equally to ANY pleasurable activity. and guess what... if you condemn it then we would be useless Polly-annas because just about everything we do in some form or fashion affect dopamine and serotonin. Without pleasure we would truly be in the darkness.

We can live under a rock thinking that every pleasure is evil, or we can see the reality of it and choose wisely our use of it. Having said that weed isn't for everyone. If you don't like it fine, but don't suggest it is, as a herb of the earth given by God to us who commanded us to use it, calling all his creation good, a sin.

Gen 1:29
Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every seed-bearing plant on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit contains seed. They will be yours for food.

And yes eating it will get you high.

Just because drunkenness is bad doesn't mean being high is bad. Now being super high... perhaps... either way believing that the bible condemn marijuana use is a guess not a fact.

Does God have to give us a list of the thousands of drugs people used over the millennia to get stoned, high or drunk from?

When a believer walks with God, he's not looking for technical loopholes to please his flesh.

The religions that worship demons use many substances to get into receptive states of being to summon them.

Does this make sense?

Well you have a clever critique the fact that remains God created the plant and it was good and since we don't have a clear line in the Bible that stipulates exactly what crosses the sobriety line is and understanding that a glass of wine that Jesus had drank was obviously not a sin then there is a level of taking a drink of wine or smoking a joint that would not be considered not a sin.

The only semi extreme answer I can give to this response is God allowed mankind to make a drug such as Fentanyl we know it's not evil it's not a sin and it benefits many people legitimately through the hand of the doctors who God trained hopefully and guess what not that they prescribe it like this but you can smoke Fentanyl or injected if you want

It when it is abused that sin occurs, even so fentanyl isn't the sin, the abuse of it is.

Smoking weed isn't a sin then abuse of it is. Remembering that smokable weed is now prescribed by doctors where's the sin?

I would also argue that for some people it greatly enhances their relation and understanding with God.

Maybe the other arguments could pass with a push, but not this one. Can't see it condoned anywhere in Scripture.
