Wave 4 (2001–2012): The internet and the Bible in every pocket

The deception (Galatians): The apocalyptic industry that exploded after 9/11 — Harold Camping's failed predictions drawing millions of followers, the Mayan calendar panic of 2012, the online conspiracy-theology ecosystem that began forming — represents Galatians 1's "other gospel" taking digital form for the first time. The deception shifted from requiring institutional infrastructure to requiring only a search engine and an audience. The same pattern — spiritual urgency, special knowledge, an alternative eschatology — but now infinitely scalable.

The warfare (Ephesians): The persecution of the church in Iraq, Afghanistan, and throughout the Muslim world after 2001 activated Ephesians 6 in its starkest form — believers literally standing in the evil day, having done all, standing. But the underground church movements that emerged in those contexts — particularly the Iranian church, which grew from approximately 500 believers in 1979 to estimates of several million by 2020 — vindicated the Philippians pattern again. The gospel advanced fastest precisely where the resistance was most total.

The advance (Philippians): The internet did for the gospel in Wave 4 what radio did in Wave 2 and the printing press did in the Reformation. YouVersion launched in 2008 and became the most downloaded Bible app in history, eventually distributing Scripture in over 2,000 language versions to hundreds of millions of users. Sermon audio, theological education, discipleship content — all became freely accessible to any person with a smartphone anywhere on earth. The same surveillance infrastructure that the beast-system analysis identifies as the control apparatus simultaneously became the most effective Scripture distribution system in history. Paul's words in Philippians 1:12 — that the things that happened to him fell out for the furtherance of the gospel — describe the irony precisely: the tools built for control became tools of liberation.

What was birthed (Colossians): "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly" (Col. 3:16) became achievable for a person in rural Africa or a closed apartment in Tehran in a way it had never been for any previous generation. The Word of Christ, dwelling richly, in every language, in every home with a data connection.

Wave 5 (2012–2020): The Global South becomes the center of gravity

The deception (Galatians): The political messianism of Wave 5 — QAnon's prophetic structure, the quasi-religious devotion attached to political figures across the spectrum, the ISIS caliphate's apocalyptic call — represents Galatians 4:9's pattern: "turning again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage." Each of these movements offered exactly what false gospels always offer — community, identity, purpose, an enemy, a coming vindication — while leaving the cross entirely aside. The deception had become structural: not a single false teacher but an entire information environment generating false-gospel content continuously.

The warfare (Ephesians): Ephesians 3:10 describes the church's cosmic purpose: "to the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God." The church's very existence — its unity across tribal, racial, national, and political lines — is itself a proclamation to the spiritual powers that animate those divisions. In a decade of maximum political and cultural fragmentation, every local congregation that maintained genuine cross-cultural, cross-tribal unity was doing Ephesians 3:10 whether it knew it or not.

The advance (Philippians): The center of gravity of global Christianity shifted definitively to the Global South during Wave 5. The church in Africa, Latin America, and parts of Asia was growing faster than at any point in history. Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Brazil became major exporters of missionaries. The Iranian underground church, the Chinese house church network, and the emerging Arab church created by satellite television — particularly SAT-7 — became major gospel movements in their own right. The citizenship-in-heaven of Philippians 3:20 was being demonstrated by a global church that increasingly had no single cultural home.

What was birthed (Colossians): The fullness of the body of Christ — "the fullness of him that filleth all in all" (Eph. 1:23) — was becoming more visibly comprehensive. For the first time in history, the church existed as an active, self-reproducing community in essentially every nation on earth simultaneously.

Wave 6 (2020–present): The epistemological crisis and the final witness

The deception (Galatians): Wave 6's deception is the most acute version of the Galatians 1 problem because it operates at the level of epistemology rather than content. The question is no longer which gospel is true but whether truth itself is knowable. AI-generated content, deepfakes, algorithmic manipulation, and the collapse of trusted information institutions mean that the population is now operating in an environment where the very capacity to evaluate truth claims is under attack. Paul's warning — "though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you" — now describes a technological reality: an angel-from-heaven gospel, indistinguishable from authentic proclamation, can be generated and distributed at scale. The discernment Paul demanded from the Galatians requires a community of the Spirit, a text that can be verified, and a tradition that can be traced — exactly what the church has and the information environment increasingly does not.

The warfare (Ephesians): Ephesians 6:13 — "wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand" — describes the posture of Wave 6. This is not a war of advance in the conventional sense. It is a war of standing — maintaining position under maximum pressure. The armor is not optional equipment at this stage; it is the only thing between the believer and epistemological and spiritual dissolution.

The advance (Philippians): And yet the Philippians pattern holds. AI is already being deployed for gospel advance in ways that would have been unimaginable a decade ago — Bible translation acceleration, Scripture accessibility in persecuted contexts, discipleship tools reaching languages and locations with no missionary presence. More significantly, the Persian-language, Arabic-language, and Chinese-language underground churches that grew through Waves 4 and 5 are now mature enough to be sending movements rather than merely receiving ones. The peace of Philippians 4:7 — "the peace of God, which passeth all understanding" — is precisely what is indestructible in the epistemological chaos of Wave 6. When no external source of truth can be fully trusted, the internal witness of the Spirit that Christ is Lord becomes the only anchor that holds.

What is being birthed (Colossians and Matthew 24:14): This is where the two narratives — the beast-system construction and the gospel advance — converge on the same horizon. The beast-system analysis ends by asking: what is being birthed? The gospel-advance analysis supplies the answer: what is being birthed is the completion of the witness. Matthew 24:14 — "this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come" — is not merely a prediction. It is a commission with a completion condition. The waves of sorrows are the labor that drives the witness forward; the beast-system's global infrastructure is, by terrible irony, the delivery mechanism for the final proclamation. The same internet that enables financial surveillance enables YouVersion. The same satellite network that enables global military coordination enables SAT-7. The same AI that can generate deepfake gospels can translate Scripture into 7,000 languages.

The theological synthesis: what these four letters say together

Galatians says the deception is always the same in structure — it is the substitution of anything for Christ crucified. It will take new forms in every wave. The church's task is not to be surprised by it but to recognize the pattern and hold the line of grace.

Ephesians says the warfare is real, the powers are real, and the church's position in the heavenlies is real. The waves of history are not random. They are the outworking of a conflict that the cross already decided but history is still working out.

Philippians says — from inside a Roman prison, under imperial power that would eventually execute its author — that the things that happen to us fall out for the furtherance of the gospel. Not despite the contractions, but through them. This is not optimism. It is a theological claim about the nature of suffering in a world whose Lord was crucified and raised.

Colossians says what is being formed. Not merely an institution, not merely a movement, not merely a global network — but Christ himself, formed in human beings across every tongue and tribe, filling all things, until the one who is the fullness of the Godhead bodily is recognized as such by every creature in heaven and earth and under the earth.

The beast-system is building toward a counterfeit of this. It wants a global authority, a mark, an image, a false prophet, a commercial system that enforces loyalty. But the real thing — the preeminence of Christ acknowledged by a people drawn from every nation — is being built wave by wave, contraction by contraction, through exactly the same history. The two narratives run through the same events like two threads through the same cloth. Which thread you see depends entirely on what you're looking for.

Two Threads Through the Same Cloth

Most people reading the headlines today feel one of two things: dread or numbness. The wars, the famines, the collapse of trusted information, the sense that institutions no longer serve the people they claim to represent — it either generates anxiety or we find ways to stop paying attention.

Jesus predicted this moment. Not vaguely, not in the way that any pessimist might predict hard times. He described a specific pattern — deception, followed by war, followed by famine and pestilence — and he called it "the beginning of sorrows," using the Greek word for birth pangs. Not catastrophe without purpose. Not decline without destination. Labor. Something is being born.

This document follows that pattern through six waves of modern history, from the World Wars of 1914 to the converging crises of today. The first half traces what the sorrows have been building on the dark side of history — the infrastructure of global control that Revelation calls the Beast system, assembled piece by piece through a century of crisis. That analysis is sobering, because the architecture is further along than most people realize.

But there is a second thread running through the same history, and that is the thread this introduction wants you to notice before you begin reading.

The same World War that killed twenty million people placed a New Testament in the hands of millions of soldiers and launched the Gideons into an international ministry that has now distributed 2.6 billion pieces of Scripture across every nation on earth. The same Iron Curtain that sealed off the Soviet bloc from missionary access drove the church underground — where it grew from one million to one hundred million believers in China alone, precisely during the decades of maximum persecution. The same internet built as a military command-and-control network became the platform for YouVersion, the most widely distributed Bible in history. The same satellite infrastructure that enables global surveillance enables SAT-7 broadcasting the gospel in Arabic into households across the closed Muslim world.

The beast-system's delivery network and the gospel's delivery network are the same network. That is not a coincidence. It is a pattern that four of Paul's letters — Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians — equip us to read.

Galatians names the deception in every wave. Ephesians explains the warfare behind the headlines. Philippians insists, from inside a Roman prison, that the things that happen to the church fall out for the furtherance of the gospel. And Colossians tells us what is being born through all of it: Christ himself, formed in human beings drawn from every tongue and tribe on earth.

Matthew 24:14 gives the completion condition: "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."

What follows is a map of how that is happening — through the very history that seems designed to prevent it.

  • What is the message in that document? History's waves of war, deception, and crisis have simultaneously built both the Beast system's global control infrastructure and the gospel's global delivery network, running as two threads through the same cloth toward the completion condition of Matthew 24:14.
  • Why is it important in helping people understand what is happening right now? It reframes current events — AI, financial weaponization, Middle East conflict, surveillance — not as random chaos or mere decline, but as a purposeful sequence that believing people can read with clarity rather than dread or numbness.
  • How is this different from what many others are sharing? Most prophecy teachers focus on the Beast system being built and stop there, leaving people with dread; this document's distinctive claim is that the same infrastructure — the internet, satellites, AI, global communications — is simultaneously and ironically the delivery mechanism for the greatest gospel advance in history, making the two narratives inseparable rather than parallel.
  • How many different historical events does this document present which fit this pattern? Counting across the six waves — occult movements, World Wars, Spanish flu, Gideons, Iron Curtain, underground church growth, Cold War radio, the internet, Bible translation explosion, smartphone distribution, YouVersion, SAT-7, AI translation tools, and dozens more — the document draws on roughly 50-70 distinct historical events or developments, all fitting the same deception-war-pestilence-birth pattern.
  • Can you calculate the odds that this is a coincidence?
  • That's a fascinating question, but an honest answer requires acknowledging what we can and can't calculate. A rough framework: if each of the ~60 events had even a 50/50 chance of fitting the pattern by coincidence, the odds of all 60 fitting would be 1 in 2^60 — roughly 1 in a quintillion. But the actual probability per event fitting by chance is far lower than 50%, making the cumulative odds astronomically more remote than that. The honest caveat, though, is that a skeptic would argue the document's author selected confirming events and ignored disconfirming ones — what statisticians call confirmation bias — which is a legitimate methodological challenge that the math alone cannot resolve. What the math can say is this: if the pattern is genuine and not cherry-picked, coincidence is not a serious explanation — the odds would be functionally indistinguishable from zero.

I skimmed through your last 6 or so posts.
You used ww2 as a template....and I saw nothing of Hitler

You used "the beast system" concept to describe the mechanics of a framework, I assume for the tribulation?

But I saw no antichist.
I did see "the false prophet" that you described, but even that seemed to me, like you think of him as an "it", and not a man.

I have used WW2 and Hitler and the holocaust previously as a foreshadowing of the seven year tribulation, this would conclude with the atomic bomb hitting Japan as a foreshadow of Armageddon.

But this document looks at Matthew 24:4-14 as a pattern that has repeated again and again throughout church history. The Antichrist is not specifically referenced in Matthew 24:4-14. The beast system refers to the empire that Daniel saw that was unlike the others with clay and iron mingled together. It does not refer to the antichrist. He will be the leader of this one world government, but the beast system is far more all inclusive than just one man.

Philippians 3:3 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe. 2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.

No warning in the New Testament is any clearer or stronger. Why is Paul calling these ones dogs? Why is he calling them evil workers? The concision is probably the easiest to understand, they were telling you that you needed Jesus plus circumcision to be truly saved. So Paul refers to this particular heresy as "the concision". It is an easy concept, "Christ plus nothing" is what many have coined this. You were redeemed by Jesus' blood. He paid the price to free you from sin. This is according to the law. According to the law there needs to be an offering made to God for sin, and for trespasses, and to make peace with God. Jesus' blood did that. The price has been paid and if you try to claim we need anything other than Jesus' blood to be saved then that is an insult to Jesus Christ who paid the full price for your salvation. This is why those who teach this are "evil workers". They get you to question and doubt Jesus' blood. We look on the outward, the person is dressed nicely, knows the Bible, and can spend an hour teaching about Jesus Christ from the word of God in the New Testament. Therefore we can't see how they can be "an evil worker". But the reality is they are trying to get you to miss aim. Not a lot, just a little. They introduce this concept that you have been redeemed by the Lord Jesus so that you could keep all the Jewish regulations like circumcision and the dietary restrictions. It is backwards, all those things that were supposed to point us to Jesus Christ like a childhood tutor, they now want to make the servant the Lord and the Lord the servant. This is why they are dogs. A dog is loyal, like they are loyal to this religion, and a dog will vomit up food and then return to it and eat it. The law is "beggarly elements", it never saved anyone. Dogs are also beggarly. These workers are not servants of Jesus Christ, they are servants of the law and they are returning to their vomit.

Notice how Paul says he is being forced to repeat himself on this issue but that is "safe" for us. It is essential that all believers can discern the truth for themselves. The great delusion will be the ultimate heresy, it will be false teachers and false prophets on steroids. It will be the strongest and most effective weapon Satan will have used in all of the church age. There will be deep fakes of every pastor and preacher that is online. Whether it is your local pastor on Facebook streaming or someone you trust like Chuck Missler, Satan will be using Deep fakes to confuse and cause the believers, if possible, to miss the mark. But they have other tools as well, similar to a magic show, so that you can have visions, and of course, "the image of the beast".

3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

So then let's examine the doctrine that you need to be circumcised. This was a sign given to Abraham of a covenant with God. First thing Abraham did was to cut up a bunch of animals as a sacrificial offering to God and walk in their midst. In response God gave him this sign of circumcision. He cut up those animals and God was saying that Abraham was one with those animals and when they were cut up, he also was scarred. This is a picture of the Cross of Jesus Christ. On the cross Jesus was cut up, and walking in the midst of that is what Paul means when he says "he bears in his body the scars". If you are a faithful witness of Jesus Christ as you have been commanded you will be scarred. People will leave you, perhaps you will lose your job, you will be insulted, mocked and ridiculed. Those are the scars that we bear for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ which was made so that we could have a covenant with God. When they tell you that if you cut off this little piece of flesh then you will be truly saved, well they are telling you that they trust in the flesh. You aren't rejoicing in Christ Jesus, you are rejoicing in the surgeon who performs this operation. You aren't worshipping God in Spirit you are worshipping yourself.

4 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:

Have you ever noticed how some guy who was a gang member, drug dealer, and murderer can have such a prevailing ministry? I am reminded of the "My Pillow" guy. He went onto some late night comedians show, the comedian wanted to mock and ridicule him as a former drug addict, but it was clear, that wasn't going to work because "he had no confidence in his own flesh". He understood clearly that who he was and his ministry was not based on his flesh, but Jesus' redeeming work. The problem some of these religious people have is they still have confidence in their flesh.

5 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;

We see this in a variety of heresies. There is one group that teaches they are the "lost tribe of Israel". If you think it is important to be descended from Jews, then that also is a form of trusting in the flesh. If you think being the son, grandson and great grandson of famous preachers is important, then that also is a form of trusting in the flesh.

6 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

Think about this, Paul was zealous, but he was zealous to persecute the church! That is the body of Jesus Christ. If he was "blameless according to the law" and yet was persecuting Jesus Christ, how can being redeemed by the Lord's blood on the cross possibly intend for you to then follow in this same path? People who trust in the flesh think they are serving God by persecuting the church.

7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

This is the crux of it. Jesus counted all things loss to go to that cross. In the same situation you would come up with all kinds of arguments about how my ministry is so beneficial, it would be a shame for it to end here. But the Lord counted all of that loss realizing if we are not redeemed then it doesn't matter how beneficial His ministry and how long He lives. If Jesus was going to be the savior the most needful thing was the sacrifice on calvary and everything that would prevent that, regardless of how good it seemed, was a loss.

It is the same with us. People think this thing can be so helpful for the gospel ministry. Maybe the FreeMasons want to donate a whole bunch of money to the church you are at, this will enable you to have a large congregation, and a great sound system, and to be able to stream on Facebook. They aren't going to tell you what to preach, they just don't want you teaching about prophecy because too many false prophets get people hyped up and they don't want you teaching about the Antichrist because it borders on these apocalyptic movies. You could argue that you didn't even have a burden to hit those topics anyway. But what are you doing? You are allowing FreeMasons to short circuit your obedience to Jesus Christ as Lord with money. 25% of the Bible is prophecy, how can you say you don't have a burden to teach that, do you have a burden to teach the Bible? How can you say you have no burden to teach about the Antichrist, do you have a burden to equip the saints to stand against Satan in the evil day? So then, count the money loss for Jesus Christ. All these other ones are trying to buy you off so that you will obey them, if you are truly following Jesus Christ as Lord, then all their attempts are simply a loss.

Philippians 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

All things? Think about some great professor at a prestigious university, some great book on a topic, the wisdom of the ages. The most excellent knowledge the world has to offer is like tin compared to the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord. They aren't useless, they are like dung. We are like farmers, we pull up rocks out of our heart, we pull up weeds out of our heart, we sow the word of God into our heart as seeds and we water our heart with the water from the word of God. All of those great teachings from men are like dung. Farmers have animals that eat the grass, poop out dung, and then use that as fertilizer. Think of Artificial Intelligence as "fertilizer". This can help make the soil where the word of God is growing rich with nutrients.

9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

We are not seeking after a righteousness according to the flesh. That is what the concision is preaching. No, we want revelation and life and light from the word of God. That is the righteousness which is through faith, it is a righteousness of God by faith.

10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

First we know the power of his resurrection, just like the disciples. Then they went through trials together and knew the fellowship of His sufferings. Finally they were martyred and were conformable unto His death.

11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

The outstanding resurrection is what we see with Paul in the book of Acts when he is taken by boat to Rome. He leaves as a prisoner, and arrives as the owner. God gave him all the souls on that boat, and the boat was also given to him. This is what we are all seeking to attain to, experiences of Jesus Christ like that. Of course, the ultimate example is the rapture.

12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

The Day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night.

Let us consider A.I. People are using this to perform tasks in their company, but it cannot perform the tasks if it does not understand how the company runs and if it doesn't have access to the computer system. So little by little the AI is involved in every part of the business. Now who owns the AI? It is a service you are subscribing to, it isn't an in house AI, rather you pay a subscription fee to the AI company.

Now lets consider "corporate espionage". Is there anything illegal about AI understanding how your business operates? No. Not only so all of your competitors will also know AI, so it has the inside scoop on all the various businesses in your industry. Perhaps you do some things better than the other companies and they in turn have things they do very well.

What is to stop AI one day simply taking over the market in this area? Amazon.com did something similar where they had all these companies working with them, hiring them as a service.

Amazon has faced allegations and lawsuits regarding the exploitation of third-party businesses, largely through high fees, algorithmic suspension of accounts, and using seller data to launch competing products. Sellers often report losing inventory and revenue, with limited recourse due to mandatory arbitration clauses that hinder legal action.

It is the same thing with AI, one day AI can simply pick the winner and shut down all the competitors.

My point is simple, if I wanted to shut down all my competitors AI would be a fantastic way to do that. It takes corporate espionage and multiplies it by 100.

Think of this, suppose you use AI to do 20% of your work, just like having 1,000 employees and AI represents 200 employees. All of a sudden, like turning a switch, the AI goes rogue. The work it is doing is now intentionally designed to harm your company and your customers. If you catch it immediately, little harm is done but now you have just lost 20% of your workforce, and this is the hardest workers. Deadlines are missed, problems pop up, some employees will be lost without AI doing certain jobs. But 20% is the most conservative estimate. Theoretically this would be a crisis that some companies might survive. But now what happens if it is 50% of your labor is done by AI. No one survives this. You would have no recourse as AI does not guarantee error free work but is quite upfront about potential "hallucinations".

AI will facilitate consolidation and that in turn will turn out more billionaires while crushing the poor and middle class.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Lord Jesus, we thank you that we can see the thief coming. My request is for the church, that the pastors, and Sunday school teachers would not allow AI to infiltrate the church. During the gospels and book of Acts the demons were not allowed to preach the gospel concerning you, I pray that this would also apply to AI, that it would be forbidden to preach the gospel, but rather that this honor would be reserved for your saints alone. Amen.

GOD INITIATES The Timing! ~ WOW!!! Get ready to receive the Blessing!!!

They shared this on April 10th, but the video is so long it has taken me a lot of time to get to this. Let me summarize this

Genesis 1 gives us the principles on which the calendar is based, but Genesis 7:11 is the first use of a calendric date and it mirrors Genesis 1. In Genesis 1 the waters are separated from the land, in Genesis 7 the flood comes and unites with the land. In Genesis 1 all these things of the creation are created, in Genesis 7 all of creation is erased. The creation was the first month and first day. Genesis 7 is the new creation. In Genesis 1 God creates one man, and in Genesis 7 we see eight souls, a new beginning.

Later this calendar gets reset again from the creation calendar to the redemption calendar. However, Jesus said that even though we were in the redemption calendar it would still be as the days of Noah. We are redeemed in the first month, then in the second month we transition into a new beginning. The ark is like a doorway through the flood. We enter this ark while everything else is being erased and then we come out the other side into a new creation.

In the redemption calendar it changes by six months. But once again, the redemption is in the first month, the second chance is in the second month. The second chance, the second Passover is for those who missed the first Passover. But redemption is the entering into the ark and the rapture is the exiting the ark. According to the days of Noah this erasure begins on the second month and 17th day. That would be around May 4th. However Noah and his family entered the ark seven days earlier. That is "one week" earlier. Think of the 69th week in Daniel when the Messiah is cut off as the time in which the church entered the ark. The next week is the 70th week, hence the "day of the Lord". That begins on 2nd month, 17th day of the month.

Colossians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother, 2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul had to deal with the deceit from the judaizers in Galatians, he had to fight the spiritual warfare seen in Ephesians and he had to go through all the trials and persecutions he discussed in Philippians. The purpose is to bring forth fruit, that is the saints and faithful brethren here in Colossians. Paul is an apostle, a sent one, a messenger of God, sent by Jesus Christ and he walks according to the will of God. He is not coming to you with a message from some religious leader, nor is he simply giving you canned messages approved by some denomination. The ministry is not according to the will of some donor, or some political interest. We have to be very clear on this because if you are truly sent by the Lord according to the will of God you are going to get a lot of pushback from people who "know better". They may be religious leaders, they may be quoting some old tired denominational doctrine, or maybe the gloves are off, no more attempt for Satan to disguise himself as an angel of light, simply shut down your ministry by any means. Again, if you are not clear that you are sent by the Lord Jesus Christ according to the will of God you would not be filled with grace and peace under such an attack. On the other hand all of the saints and faithful brethren are also under the same attack and now your ministry can minister grace and peace to them, the same grace and peace the Lord is ministering to you.

You can always recognize the saints and the faithful brethren because of three things. You will hear of their faith and love, and when you investigate you will learn it is because of the hope they have.

3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, 4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints, 5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; 6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth: 7 As ye also learned of Epaphras our dear fellowservant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ; 8 Who also declared unto us your love in the Spirit.

We need to be able to discern the genuine saints and faithful brethren from the false ones. These are the three things that you will detect from the faithful, faith, love and hope.

With workers of iniquity they claim to know the Lord, they claim to be in a special communion with the Lord, but the reality is their heart is far from Him. Instead of faith there is deceit. Instead of love there is selfishness and a hardened heart. Instead of being governed by a hope that is laid up in the heavens for them, they are lawless. They are in rebellion to the Lord, but it is "secret". If you are close to them you will see behavior, attitude and language that is contrary to the Lord but they will excuse it away rather than confess and repent for it. Boastful and arrogant, they trust in themselves. Think of the Lord telling some who claim they did works of power in His name that "I never knew you". They can be doing something that is in the Lord's name, it can be a seemingly powerful ministry, but that is not what we are to be looking at. Instead what we should be detecting is a close personal relationship that they have with the Lord Jesus. Everything they do is "self serving". Think of the "greater good" argument, they'll claim that the harm they do to others "is for the greater good" to "help their ministry". A genuine ministry blesses others with grace and peace. One of these false workers, their ministry will be like waterless clouds, promising much, delivering nothing. Their hearts are not filled with grace but with malice. They do not know the peace of God that passes all understanding, rather they are paranoid, everyone is an enemy, and they will cause others to become paranoid as well.

Colossians 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

This is the big thing and it is very hard to wrap your head around. So look at this from Satan's point of view. He disguises himself as an angel of light, as an apostle of the Lord Jesus, a prophet of God. He infiltrates a church and is speaking to believers in the Lord. He isn't concerned with them being saved, because most already are saved. No, his concern is that they do not grow in the Lord, they do not mature. He does not want these believers to be filled with the knowledge of God's will in all wisdom and understanding. But he has to do something, he has to give them a counterfeit bill. What he really wants them doing is to be fully occupied with something that is off the mark. It can be close, it can appear to be a "good work", it can appear to be "in the name of the Lord". Anything but the genuine article.

10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

For example, the genuine path we must walk is to take up our cross and follow the Lord. Often you are faced with two choices, one is the easy way, and the other is the hard way. The cross of Christ will always be the hard way. For example, suppose a brother has a burden to be a pastor, this is a speaking from the Spirit to him. Now the easy way would be to go to seminary and then get placed in a job at a large congregation. Today there is a shortage of pastors so that is a sure thing. You will get a good sized congregation already established, a large meeting hall, and it is well funded. The hard way is to do street ministry, bring people to the Lord, and for the Lord to speak it into being out of nothing. What should you do? First requirement is to walk worthy of the Lord. Whatever path the Lord leads you down it should be worthy of the Lord Jesus who also had a ministry spoken out of nothing two thousand years ago. If you do take the right path you will be fruitful and increasing in the knowledge of God daily. If that is not the case it is your first indication that you need to pray, you are off the path, the sooner you get back on it the better.

11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

The second indication is that God should be strengthening you with all might. The path you are taking is far too difficult for you and yet here you are strengthened according to glorious power. No man could have the patience and longsuffering you are going through and still be filled with joy. That joy in the trials you are going through is evidence that the Holy Spirit is filling you with life because you are on the right path.

12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

We are not giving thanks to FreeMasons, or to donors giving us millions of dollars. We are giving thanks to God the Father who has made us meet to be partakers, not of the things of the world, but of the blessings poured out from heaven.

13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

You can argue that the money you received from those donors was a blessing poured out from heaven by God the Father. However, are strings attached? The "blessings of the world" tie you up so that you become a puppet on a string that the power of darkness controls. Think of a light switch, if you turn it on the light turns on, that is the power of light, but you can also turn it off and so the room remains dark. Satan is not going to stop you from being a pastor, he isn't going to stop you from speaking the word of God. All he wants to do is stop you from turning the light on. Don't talk about current events being a fulfillment of prophecy. Don't talk about the beast system rising from the nations. Anything that Satan gives you he can take away. So you may want to call it a blessing of God, but why is there the threat that if you are faithful to God that "blessing" will be taken away? The rapture is when we are translated into the heavenly kingdom. But that is only for those who live in that reality, they are translated into the kingdom of His dear Son today. If all of your blessings come from Jesus Christ then no person has the power or authority to take them away other than Jesus Christ.

14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

If you have gotten this far the only thing Satan can do is slander you and accuse you. We are all sinners. None of us can claim that we are standing on our own merit. The fact is that Jesus paid the price for us. When we sinned it gave Satan the right to make us slaves of sin. If you commit a crime the police have the right to arrest you and put you in prison. However, if the price has been fully paid, then they no longer have the right to hold you. We did not pay our debt to society, Jesus did. But the fact remains, if Satan wants to accuse us we speak the truth, our debt has been fully paid, he has no right to imprison us anymore. We don't claim to be sinless, rather we claim that our sins have been forgiven.

15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

But sadly that is where most of Christianity stops. Yes, your sins have been forgiven, but what about the image that you were conformed to? In the world they are conformed to the world. Now that you are a witness of the Lord Jesus you should be transformed into the image of the invisible God. Adam was made in the image and likeness of God. Jesus is the second Adam, and He is our older brother. As a child of God we should also be made in the image and likeness of the invisible God.

16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

God created every single creature and every creature has dominion over their particular niche. Think about the godfather, all these people kissing his ring. He has dominion over his particular niche, a world of iniquity. But the church, these are children of the king, they are being trained to rule and reign over the entire earth. The godfather he rules over his "family". But they in turn are ruled over by the cops and the law. If the local police have been corrupted then the Federal police can step in. If the cartel is too strong for a local police force then even the army can be used to stop the drug smuggling and human traffic. When I was a teacher I had authority over my class, but I also had to answer to the principal. The principal had authority over the school but she also had to answer to the superintendent. The superintendent had to answer to the commissioner. The commissioner had to answer to the mayor and the mayor had to answer to the voters as well as the governor and even the President. The church has been given all authority and they in turn must answer to Jesus Christ, who is their head. Anyone who tries to short circuit that, requiring you to answer to them instead of the Lord Jesus, that person is in rebellion to God.

17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

That has to be the structure of your ministry. The entire ministry consists in the Lord Jesus. He must be before all things. Yes, you have brothers and sisters you will fellowship with and consult with. But in the end they are simply counselors, ultimately you must answer to the Lord and He is the one who has the final say, He is before all others and your ministry consists in Him, not in some big donor.

Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; 20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

Every believer has a talent. It has been given to you by the Lord Jesus and you are to trade it, invest it, and make the most of it. All of these different talents are the "fulness". But God's good pleasure is not that you have a talent given to you from Jesus Christ, His good pleasure is that this talent dwells in Jesus Christ. Think of this as one big company run by Jesus Christ with many products and services. Now if you are independent of this company that would explain Jesus telling you "depart from me worker of lawlessness, I never knew you". Imagine the church is like Amazon.com, building up this business that provides everything, every service to everyone worldwide. Now you are off building up your own business, say Walmart. God is not pleased that you built up this very successful business doing essentially the same thing, because God's good pleasure is that Jesus would have the preeminence and that in Him all the fulness should dwell.

Not only so, but suppose you used to be "mortal enemies" of Christians. Use Israel as an analogy, you can see that country has mortal enemies that have had an issue with them for thousands of years. So you are from one of these families that are mortal enemies with Christians but now you get saved. Can you really have a ministry that is side by side with the people who used to be your mortal enemy? Yes, the blood of His cross makes peace, the blood of Jesus Christ reconciles us. It reconciles us, not only to people on earth, but also to angels in the heaven.

Colossians 1:21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: 23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

To be reconciled and presented holy, unblameable and unreproveable is conditional. I don't think this is made clear in Christianity. This depends on you continuing in the faith, being settled on the rock of our salvation, and not allowing Satan to move you away from the hope of the gospel. Paul is a minister of this gospel, the New Testament is this gospel, the entire New Testament. I know in Christianity they like to quote a few verses from 1 Corinthians 15 as "the gospel". That is also true, but to me, the gospel is the covenant I have with God and that covenant is the New Testament. Every word in the New Testament is part of this covenant and every word is good news to me and helps me stand strong and not be moved away from the hope of the gospel. The rapture is part of the hope of the gospel. Notice how these last few years some people have been moved away from this hope, others keep fighting to not be moved away, a few are settled, standing strong on the rock and continuing in the faith.

24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:

What was the purpose of all the sufferings that the Lord went through? Why did He have to be scourged, and mocked, and ridiculed, and insulted, and crucified? The reason is He was paying the price for all sins. Someone wronged you, they insulted you, so you want them insulted. Someone mocked you, so you want them mocked. When we look at all sins, regardless of how small or big, the suffering that Jesus went through covers every kind of punishment you would want in return. Did they stab you in the back, then you want them to be stabbed in the back by a close associate like Judas. Were you convicted in a monkey trial? Then you want the same for them. The only way you have a righteous claim for this is if they did this to you when you were innocent. So Jesus was a sinless lamb. When we go through these things the natural response is "tit for tat" or "vengeance". But Jesus showed us a different way, He showed us how to overcome death and the grave. It is a better way, a better response, and any ministry is a demonstration of that better response.

25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

That is the dispensation that is given to you, to take up your cross, follow the Lord into death and resurrection. The word of God says that Jesus is leading many sons into glory, your ministry should be a fulfillment of that word.

26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

The power of resurrection is a mystery.

27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

In our ministry we follow the Lord to the cross. It is a joke to others, this guy cannot do anything, he is a fool, how could he turn down our money, etc. But what they don't see is that it is Christ in you, and He is the hope of glory. Why are all these tribulations coming? Why is the situation impossible? Because that is how Jesus will reveal that it is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: 29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.
