God, before the foundation of the world, chose some (the elect) for salvation based on his purpose, not their merit.
Christ died only for the elect, ensuring their salvation, rather than making salvation possible for all but guaranteed for none.

Woah horse!! Back on up!! The Bible does not teach that!! The Bible says Christ died for ALL and WHOSOEVER WILL!! If you have that wrong, you have everything else wrong.

The elect are not saved because we are better, but because we are recipients of mercy.

All are saved by grace. God did not create a good team and a bad team.

You need to learn how to understand the context of verses like John 3:16, because it not saying that "God loved every single person in the world", as that would make Him a liar.

Bible says while we were still sinners He loved us. It also says that He doesn't want anyone to perish. "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him".

You don't torment people in the lake of fire for all eternity if you love them.

God wishes all to be saved. If you don't become saved that is your choice, you go to heaven by your own choice. God loves people but He can't force them to love Him back. He grieves every soul that refuses to turn to Him.

So "the world" in that context is actually saying that God has chosen to save people from the whole world "Not only Jews". The Jews needed to be reminded that they were no longer special and they were now equal to the Gentiles.

Romans 11 - do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. 19 Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” 20
That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you.

An apology for your grievous error in this matter is perhaps warranted?
Agreed.

Otherwise, it is an ACTIVE rejection of His word.

You guys are clowns. I provided this verse in which the word can only be interpreted as receive, and it is in the active voice.

For every one that asketh receiveth (λαμβάνω); and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:8

Your hackneyed attempts at analyzing the Greek are worthy only of revulsion and pity.
I was wondering: are all Augustinians equally inept? Rhetorical question BTW.

You offer nothing. You have been served up a platter of scholarly teachings with bountiful information that require a quiet place and no distractions to study.

You only fool the lazy(shame on them) and babes in Christ(shame on you.)

@ChristRoseFromTheDead ~~"I said the abomination was committed upon him, the temple of God."

John 2:19~~Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”

@ChristRoseFromTheDead ~~" Jesus had no power to take back his life"

Let the spin begin.

Do you deny the Trinity? Seems that is what you are saying.

I guess you have some things to figure out

Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4
Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God, the Father, who raised him from the dead Galatians 1:1

Get a clue. As I have already said, the scripture is abundantly clear on this matter:

EVERY member of the Trinity is clearly stated to have resurrected Jesus. This is nothing new. So why then do you double down to support your own false doctrine and persist in causing mayhem and confusion?

I think everyone here can readily detect your obstinate pattern of behavior and recalcitrant attitude. This is also nothing new, it is old news.

Tell your poor uninformed pastor that there are HUNDREDS of passages in the Bible that in no uncertain terms say otherwise.

Oh.....and ask you pastor if he feels any "70th week of Daniel tribulation vibes" in these Samson passages.

Jdg 15:2 - Her father said, “I really thought that you thoroughly hated her; therefore I gave her to your companion. Is not her younger sister better than she? Please, take her instead.”

Jdg 15:3 - And Samson said to them, “This time I shall be blameless regarding the Philistines if I harm them!”

Jdg 15:8 - So he attacked them hip and thigh with a great slaughter; then he went down and dwelt in the cleft of the rock of Etam.

*****************************************************

Did your poor uninformed pastor forget about Gomer and the lesson of the book of Hosea?

Hos 2:16 - “And it shall be, in that day,”
Says the LORD,
“That you will call Me ‘My Husband,’
And no longer call Me ‘My Master,’

Hos 2:19 - “I will betroth you to Me forever;
Yes, I will betroth you to Me
In righteousness and justice,
In lovingkindness and mercy;

***************************************************

Oh yes lets not forget about this. Am I the only one who did the readings?

Rom 7:2
For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
Your interpretation of the above scriptures is based on a premiss that doesn't line with other scriptures which deal with the subject.
The 70th week of Daniel (Daniel 9:24-27) has already been fulfilled. It interprets the "sevens" as a continuous, accomplished timeframe, culminating in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ—the Messiah—rather than a future seven-year tribulation under an antichrist.
The 70 weeks (interpreted as 490 years) were fulfilled in the first century, with Christ's ministry occurring in the final "week".
Jesus "cut off" (died) in the midst of the final week, ending animal sacrifices by fulfilling them with his own sacrifice.
There is no "gap" between the 69th and 70th weeks. The 70th week follows immediately after the 69th.
The covenant breaking and abomination of desolation (Daniel 9:27) were fulfilled by the destruction of the Temple in A.D. 70 by the Romans.
The six-fold purpose of the prophecy (e.g., "to finish transgression," "to atone for iniquity") is accomplished by Christ, not by future apocalyptic events.
This passage of scripture is a testament to God's precise timeline in redemptive history, focusing on the finished work of Christ rather than mapping out a future tribulation period.
You have taken the verses you cite to support your view that Israel is the Bride of Christ, out of context.
The marriage metaphor reflects the Covenant of Grace, where Christ is the faithful Bridegroom and the Church is his cherished, redeemed bride.
Christ did not just choose the church, but actively redeemed her by dying for her, as seen in Ephesians 5:25, cleansing her from sin.
Christ is currently preparing his bride to be presented to himself in glory, "not having spot or wrinkle," indicating a process of sanctification and eventual perfection.
The relationship is fully realized in the future (the eschaton), described in Revelation 21:9 as the New Jerusalem, where the church will dwell with her Bridegroom in perfect unity.
The bride is not an individual, but as a "plural unity"—the collective body of believers—who find their fulfillment in worshipping Christ together.

The Church’s role is to remain faithful, loving, and subject to Christ, while Jesus is the active Shepherd who nurtures and protects her.

Your interpretation of those scriptures doesn't make sense when understood in their proper context.
The Bible does not say that "Christ died for all". The "all" in context refers "all of Gods elect", meaning Jews and Gentiles from every tribe and tongue.
You have everything else wrong, by your own admission because the "WHOSOEVER WILL!!!!" refers to Gods elect. And Acts 13:48 proves you wrong because it declares that only those who are appointed to salvation will believe and the rest are left dead in their sin.

Acts 13:48 Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord.
And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.

Yes, your right all of Gods elect are saved by His grace. God didn't create any good or bad teams, we are all born dead in our sin and slaves to sin and Satan. Only God can quicken a person to life from spiritual death, and only God can overpower the most powerful Creature in the universe (Satan), to liberate the prisoner.

Your view that "Bible says while we were still sinners He loved us". is incorrect, because Romans 5:8 ("...while we were still sinners, Christ died for us") refers to the elect—those whom God has chosen for salvation.
The "us" in this context as those whom God sovereignly chose to save (the elect), it's not a general offer of salvation to all humanity.
This verse is a statement about God's sovereign, proactive love, ensuring that his elect are saved from wrath by Christ's sacrifice, despite their sinful state.

Your comment that "God doesn't want anyone to perish" is not true, because 2 Peter 3:9 states: "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance".

This verse was spoken to reassure believers, that God is patient with His elect. It teaches that God is not slow, but patient, ensuring all His chosen people come to repentance. The "any" and "all" refer to the "beloved" (believers).
God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, no He sent Him to save His people from every part of the whole world. Not only Jews, in Israel.

In Romans 11:19 Paul addresses Gentile believers who boast about their position, saying, "Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in." This is a warning against arrogance, emphasizing that salvation is solely by God’s sovereign grace (unbelief broke the natural branches/Jews). Gentiles are grafted only by faith—a gift from God. It's an exhortation to be humble, Gods elect don't stop believing so we will not be cut off.

EVERY member of the Trinity is clearly stated to have resurrected Jesus. This is nothing new. So why then do you double down to support your own false doctrine and persist in causing mayhem and confusion?

Jesus made an outrageous statement about the temple to the religious unbelievers in his midst in order to offend them, like him saying they must drink his blood, and you think he said he was going to raise himself from the dead.

Talk about confusion. Blender theology: throw the bible in a blender and set on high. That's like the catholics thinking grape juice actually becomes blood.

Cassandra complex, you know the future but no one will believe you.

ALERT: ENDLESS Warplanes ON MOVE, EXPLOSIONS in Iran, TOTAL BLOCKADE, Sanctions REIMPOSED!

This blockade will mean that Iran and the other oil producers will need to cap their wells and shut them down. Now if that only lasts for a few days they can turn them back on relatively quickly, a few days. But if they stay shut for a few months it can take weeks to get them inspected and opened again. The reason they will shut down is because they have no place to store the oil. That means when things get restarted they do have full barrels to fill ships with. Still, if this shut down persists for six months, it could be nine months before they are back to normal production. The same is true of restarting a shut down oil refinery. Now think about this, suppose this war goes on for another six months, the oil refineries and the shipping of oil is shut down. When you want to restart where are your employees? Are they still alive? Can you find them? How do you restart if you are missing key engineers? Not only so, but have they sustained damage, do you have to replace parts? So even if the blockade and the war ends the first step will be to restart the refineries, best case scenario that takes two weeks, worst case scenario it could take two months or more. Only then can you uncap the wells and begin pumping the oil again.

Also, has anyone been assessing the damage during the war? Once one of these facilities is shut down and people leave, is anyone there to keep track of all damage and all parts that they need? So you will probably need a two week inspection to determine that before you even begin the process of restarting and who knows how long it takes to repair and replace damaged equipment.

Now oil traders know this, so why is the price down from 120 to 92? Well I think they are responding to the fact that so far the rise in price for the oil has had a very big impact on shutting down consumption.

For you to brazenly declare Him to be a liar in this matter is heretical.

For you to brazenly dispute and then deny the unequivocal meaning in the Greek is apostasy.

This verse has been de-Calvinized already many times. The intended meaning in the Greek is quite clear.
And another thing: word order in the Greek is unimportant. In the English, it is very important.
In many cases, the translators messed up the word order in the English.

https://hermeneutics.stackexchange....lieved-been-appointed-or-readied-and-prepared

"When the Gentiles heard this, they began to rejoice and praise the word of the Lord, and the many believers were put in order and organized for eternal life."

Or further anglicized:

"When the Gentiles heard this, they began to rejoice and praise the word of the Lord, and the new believers were prepared for eternal life."

No one cares what your opinion is. There are 8 billion people on this planet with 8 billion opinions. Where is your Biblical basis to say that there is no 2,000 year gap. We have already shared from Hosea 6 to provide a Biblical basis for the 2,000 year gap.

Second, you have not provided any Biblical basis for your gap theory.
There are many more prophetic passages that indicate this gap.
There are also these UNTIL statements, always ignored by the preterists and historicists.

So now the ball is in your court. Explain if you can these crucial UNTIL statements.

Act 1:11
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Act 3:21
Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

Luk 13:35
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Luk 21:24
And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Rom 11:25
For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

There are many more prophetic passages that indicate this gap.

It's obvious that there is no gap between the 69th and 70th weeks. Verse 9:25 plainly says that Christ would appear after the 69-week period (7 + 62), and verse 27 says that he would confirm the new covenant with Israel during the 70th week.

And thou shalt know and understand, that from the going forth of the command for the answer and for the building of Jerusalem until Christ the prince there shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks; and then the time shall return, and the street shall be built, and the wall, and the times shall be exhausted. Daniel 9:25
And one week he shall establish the covenant with many: and in the midst of the week my sacrifice and drink-offering shall be taken away: and on the temple shall be the abomination of desolations; and at the end of time an end shall be put to the desolation. Daniel 9:27
