Repentance and Keeping Commandments is only the beginning of salvation.

We see here that unrepented transgressors are not justified with God. Transgressing the commandments of God must cease, in order to enter into the kingdom of God. Only by repentance of all transgressing, can anyone keep God's commandments.

Luk 17:8
And will not rather say unto him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird thyself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward thou shalt eat and drink? Doth he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.

So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

We see here that keeping our Lord's commandments is good, but it is not profitable to our Lord's kingdom. It is only what all must do to abide therein. No one is rewarded for keeping the commandments alone, since trasngression is death.

Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.

Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

Once again, we see that Jesus loves all His people keeping His commandments, but unless we go on to personally serve and follow Him, we lack the one thing He loves most:

These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

Heb 6:1
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Once again, the beginning of faith toward God and salvation, is repentance and keeping His commandments. But perfection in His faith and kingdom is only by the profit of doing what is not as by commandment alone: Personally obeying Him at His word of service and good pleasure.

That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

James{2:21}
Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

When Abraham offered up his only son to the LORD at His word, he was not keeping a commandment, but making a personal Friend.

And so, we see that repentance to keep God's commandments is the beginning of His salvation, but is only the beginning, not an end in itself.

Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned;

And so, all that repent and keep the commandments of God in His kingdom of righteousness, are rewarded with resurrection from the dead unto life. But only them that take up the cross to personally serve and follow Him in all things, shall be justified and called His Friend, even as Abraham:

And so, we see that keeping the commandments of God is only the beginning of perfection in the body of Christ. It's only the new beginning of newborn babes, that are no longer transgressing children of disobedience.

While keepers of God's commandments cannot be judged transgressors with the world, ungrown Christians can be blamed and faulted as unprofitable. By lacking personal service and works of faith, that are not by commandment but as friends.

Keeping God's commandments are only the necessary beginning in the kingdom of Christ, but growing to walk with Him in all things as Friend, is to become blameless and faultless in His good will.

These things are not commandments to do with our faith, but are exhortations to do better than keeping commandments alone. Going on to perfecting the faith in personal deeds of virtue, godliness, and charity, ensures we shall never fall into transgressing His commandments.

And so we see once again, that keeping God's commandments is only the beginning of His kingdom, and he that lacks adding the personal walk of the cross with Jesus, can fall by the snare of seeking only doing what is commanded.

Love is only valid in works which is why John said do not love in words but in deeds, works.

And James said a person is justified by works and not faith alone.

Charity does not think an evil thought and does not rejoice in iniquity but rejoices in the truth to be led of the Spirit and be Christlike.

Which is not a part time job.

Not everybody comes to the truth denying the Spirit leading them because they will not let go of the flesh and love sin more than God.

If we sin we have to repent not wanting the sin and allow the Spirit to lead us.

God knows the heart whether you are holding on to sin or not.

Do not let temptations get you down for it is not sin as long as you do not play on them.

Amen again. The progressive repentance and sanctification is the part-time faith and love of man, not the whole-hearted faith and love of God.

The only unconditional thing about salvation is unconditional surrender of whole repentance.

Jesus Christ does not accept any conditional surrender on transgressor's own terms.

That's why the the bromide of 'accepting' Jesus Christ is false: Transgressors to do accept God, but must be accepted by God. Jesus Christ does not make God acceptable to sinners, but rather converts sinners into acceptable saints of God.

The false gospel of transgressors being unconditionally saved and justified by faith alone without works, makes God by Jesus Christ acceptable more to sinners.

Isa 30:9
That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

Many unrepentant Christians find fault with perfection in Christ, by inflating it to some sort of robotic perfection, where there is never a bad thought nor mechanical mistake 24/7. (As though sleeping dreams can become sins too.) And so, they pervert Christian perfectness in this life, in order to pervert judgment of God by justification through faith-alone with continued sins and trespasses against God.

Christian perfection in Christ Jesus is simply a pure heart freed from lust of the world, and a life blameless from transgressing God's commandments.

2Pe 1:3
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Temptations of the mind and flesh, without doing the evil, are not sins against God nor man.

Many of the OT saints have record in Scripture, of being righteous by blameless keeping of God's commandments. But purification of the heart from lust, and a conscience freed from past guilt, is only come by the washing of the blood of the risen lamb of God, Jesus Christ.

I.e. unrepentant sinners still transgressing God's commandments, still have their old corrupted lusting untaken away by the Lamb of God, and so for them it is indeed impossible to walk daily after the Spirit with a pure heart, even as Jesus did in the flesh.

And unsurprisingly, the same lusting and transgressing Christians, also declare it impossible to walk as Jesus walked, and not only for themselves, but also for any other Christians on earth. Their own faith-alone justification is in fact unbelief toward God and His Son's gospel promise:

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

I would add that we have an advocate with the Father 1 John 2v1 young and uninformed and weak believers can sin , but can take their mistake to Jesus and receive forgiveness once acknowledged and repenting of it , turning from it and stopping it , we get grace for this often through prayer and feeding on the word of God gives us strength. . This is not the same as willful sinning that is not something a believer does . They go on in sin knowingly . They openly are crucifying Jesus . This a true child of God cannot do . And will not do this . Fail , fall and sin but not forsaken, they will repent and the Lord will do as he sees fit in all matters . He is the advocate on our behalf ! Thank God ! Most of us would be toast in a short time . Spiritual perfection? Apostle Paul pressed on so total perfection I don’t see it . Until with Christ in glory then we shall be as he is ! What a hope and sure promise dear readers . Our strength comes mainly from looking for the time when we meet Jesus . It should be so up lifting and beyond words to anticipate. Never loose sight of our hope Apostle Paul said . Well enough said Praise the Lord !

Scripture is saying those who repent from sinning for Jesus' sake, and are saved from sinning by Jesus Christ, have ceased from continued sinning on earth, but now keep His commandments in the body of Christ.

If you do not believe the Scripture, then why would you believe anyone testifying to it?

With continued sins and trespasses of the unbelievers, they are the unbelievers in ceasing from continued sins and trespasses.

Scripture is saying those who repent from sinning for Jesus' sake, and are saved from sinning by Jesus Christ, have ceased from continued sinning on earth, but now keep His commandments in the body of Christ.

If you do not believe the Scripture, then why would you believe anyone testifying to it?

Faith-alone justification with continued sinning, is unbelief toward the salvation of God and deliverance from sinning on earth by Jesus Christ.

I've seen people use this inuendo sort of writing for years and years. Implying without stating "I no longer sin." And when asked directly, I so often receive responses like yours. Deflection and assumption and often times a downright attack. In fact I've had many in that situation prove themself false as they deteriorate in their responses.

Your assumption is wrong, if that's in fact what you are assuming. But why is it that no one seems to want to make a direct and clear statement about this? I think I know, but I'm interested in hearing other people's answer.

To my experience, after teaching the Scriptures that cease from sinning, Christians that demand to know if the teacher is not sinning anymore, are only looking to accuse them of self-righteous boasting and hypocrisy.

And then they go on to quote the usual Scriptures of sinners sinning against God, that they always apply to themselves, and also to everyone else as well.

In any case, before I answer the question,

Do you no longer continue to sin? You've fully ceased from sin?

I ask you a question:

Do you believe any Christian on earth no longer continues to sin? And fully ceased from sinning?

That IS what you are assuming, right?

So far as overcoming any and all sins in the Spirit. That is a two-edged question.

Saints walking after the Spirit are enduring all temptations and overcoming all sinning.

For those who would separate the Spirit from the walk, they claim to be 'spiritually' overcoming sinning, while continuing to bodily commit sins with the world.

like their faith-alone justification, they 'impute' all good things to their spirit, while all the evil doing is only imputed to the 'body' alone.

And so, by experience I conclude, that you only believe in the latter, and not at all in the former.

I know this, because you did not first testify of your own grace in Christ, that you no longer continue sinning after the flesh. And then simply ask if I also have your testimony.

That is an honest testimony and question, that compels an honest answer.

If this is your testimony, say it clearly.

I've stated my testimony clearly, which in these case, has never been accepted by those demanding it.

Likewise I've seen people use this sort of gotcha questions for years and years. Just as Jesus has:

Ok, For once I would be all too glad to be wrong, and haply mistaken: I have gladly ceased from bodily sinning by the Spirit of the Lord, and cease breaking His commandments. Have you also?

Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

And so, once again we see that the beginning of faith toward God is keeping His commandments. Which only begins with repentance from breaking His commandments:

Heb 6:1
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Only with keeping the commandments of God, can any man go on to perfection of walking with the faith of Jesus in all things, even as He did on earth;

Keeping Commandments is only the beginning of salvation​

Neither the beginning, the middle nor the end.

We are not made righteous by our good behavior. How do you understand that keeping commandments is only the beginning of salvation? If you break just one, and remember Jesus spoke of even what goes on in the mind, you have broken all of them
according to scripture.

Do you not understand what being made righteous in Christ actually is?

How about santification? Is that a one moment in time occurence? And if not, if it occurs over our lifetime, than why do we need it if we are now sinless?

So many questions.

Much confusion.
