The Bible says the heart is deceitful and desperately wicked. Also every time the Bible says every man did what was right in his own eyes, everything went down the toilet. Even if the devil COULD put stuff in our heads... He wouldn't need to. We can get distracted and find negative things to dwell on just fine without him.

Yeah the devil can put opportunities in our path to stray, indulge, lash out, etc. But I beliieve speaking directly into our minds is not something God allows him to do. Not that the limitation poses a substantial impediment to the devil...
