So, I was taking 6mg of Vraylar and 0.5mg of Benztropine, along with 6 other prescription meds.

I have been on a weaning off plan set by my nurse practitioner.

Tomorrow, I start on 1.5mg of Vraylar and 0.25mg of Benztropine.

I will be on Vraylar for 4 more weeks and I will be on Benztropine for 2 weeks, and then I'll be done with those.

The side effects that I had from Vraylar were:

1. Restlessness
2. Organ tremors
3. Insomnia
4. Suicidal Thoughts
5. Fatigue
6. Increased Appetite
7. Tardive Dyskinesia
8. Weight Gain

The side effects that I had from Benztropine:

1. Dry mouth
2. Blurred vision
3. Memory problems
4. Hallucinations
5. Rapid heartbeat
6. Tachycardia
7. Palpitations

If you can pray that this weaning process continues to go well, I'd appreciate it!

Also, if you can pray for further healing, in a more holistic manner, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

Took my first lower dosages yesterday, here is what I noticed:

1. A spike in happiness and feel good feelings
2. More energy
3. Felt more at peace (Holy Spirit at its finest)
4. I was able to sleep for two hours, go back to sleep 45 minutes later, then sleep for two more hours (probably going to go back to sleep now but feel away)

Great! Be patient. Keep following your schedule.

Monitor your side effects.

I have epilepsy and have had to titrate between medications several times. Side effects can sneak up on you, but they can be managed. Once I had a change that really affected my awareness of where I was. Otherwise everything else was normal. I had no seizures, but I took a few wrong turns and went several miles before I realized that I had turned the wrong way.

Yes, keep a journal; I find it helps with all things.

My therapist recommended I journal. I’ve been mostly prayer journaling (on the Bible app 😂)

I started putting on weight.. I'm up 17 pounds over the past year. I just started journaling my food intake and tracking calories like before. It's incredible how much more disciplined I become when I have to write down and be accountable for what I eat.

I don’t know if it’s because of my age or because I’m weaning off of medication that causes weight gain and increased appetite but I ended up losing around ten 10 pounds recently and I haven’t been keeping up with exercise or eating well or getting good sleep…all that might bite me in the butt, the more I keep this up.

I know with journaling and speaking out loud, that we can kinda program ourselves with self talk (I think), not sure if affirmations are a form of witchcraft but it works, especially writing to do lists, for me at least.

God’s organized, so I believe we must be organized…unless we have or get like hoarder tendencies.

Just called Mind Care Services to get a new over cam Nurse Practitioner because my most recent nurse practitioner is leaving that practice.

Anyways, it’s day three of the last phase:

1. Last night I spoke in an Okie accent for like 4 hours with @CarriePie and I can’t stop. Haven’t had that much fun in years it seemed.

Positive affirmations are definitely NOT a form of witchcraft.

Sometimes when I'm feeling a little down... I repeat over and out loud.
"The Lord is my shepherd;, I lack nothing." I actually prefer this translation (NIV) versus I shall not want. I've even learned in in the Hebrew and I just verbalize it over and over like a mantra.

“Adonai ro’i, lo echsar.”

Here’s what it means:
  • Adonai (אֲדֹנָי) = The Lord
  • ro’i (רֹעִי) = my shepherd
  • lo echsar (לֹא אֶחְסָר) = I shall not lack / I shall not want

I almost missed this post.

I will definitely be using affirmations, for sure.

Thanks for sharing @jacko

Last week for Benztropine starts tomorrow, can say goodbye to that med that causes hallucinations, no thanks!

Down to the last three weeks of Vraylar starts tomorrow, haven't had many heart issues since lowering that medication.

Just talked to my cardiologist today. In three weeks, I will have my heart ablation procedure, hopefully by competent doctors. He also recommended that I get on a weight loss program, and or really focus on cutting calories, which I just started using the Lose It! website, which @CarriePie recommended...as long as I keep my calories below 2356 every day, I should reach my goal weight of 174lbs, in a year and a half, almost.
