Maybe the guy @SonJudgment (who can't spell judgement) just got the wrong impression of you, Lynx and Seoul or was joking.
I mean I've done that a few times, and you've forgiven me (I hope). A date can mean different things to different people.
Obvs I was teasing, but maybe you didn't catch that.

I am not new here, but I sort of know people, even if I hadn't met them in person. Well I think I know them. I don't PM people on this forum because I've encountered a lot of spammers unfortunately and I don't entirely trust EVERYONE is telling the truth. But that's just me.

I have def chatted and emailed people I haven't met before and was fine. I kind of know if someone is genuine or not or just being disingenuous and somewhat deluded. But discernment can be a tricky thing online and lots of people get fooled, but that happens in person as well so what's new.
A "discernment" the gift they claim to have but that isn't actually in the Bible lol. Discernment of the spirits is a gift that is easy if you actually believe in God. Praise Jesus

Unfortunately, mine seem to be lost somewhere in Never Never Land, never to be seen again. 😎

I applaud your sense of humor, sir, and hope to see many more of your posts in the future. 🙂

Welcome to CC! 🥳
Thank you 😁 it sometimes gets a little wobbly, but I like to see people smile

I sometimes confuse Catholic with Cataholic, which isn't a word, but it could be someone who's addicted to Cats.

Athanansian creed I am not familiar with.
I know the apostles creed. I also know well, I've been in churches that are not Catholic ie. Roman Catholic and say this and say that catholic means 'holy' or 'universal' (the 'hol' bit) like how a HOLIday is a Holy day.

Ok going back in history the Catholic church and the Orthodox church used to be one before they split into two branches because of language and geographical differences. It's too long to get into and you probably DO need a theological degree to explain it all to a layperson.

BTW I am not catholic.

Ironically (or unironically) the cataholic pun is actually a slander closer to the truth than thinking I'm in the RCC lol. Don't have to be in the RCC to know that if you reject the Athanasian Creed and therefore the entire Bible and the entire Christian religion your sins remain. Even Gen Alpha's favorite cat knows this.

Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox, to be specific. Sorry, derailing again.

Tattoos? If the church you go to disapproves, then maybe it's not a good idea. But people are gonna judge no matter what, even if they don't understand your reasons for getting one, or what it means to you.

The victims of the Holocaust were all tattooed with numbers. It's just what they did to keep track of people. It wasn't their choice.

Tattoos are a big sin, its witchcraft, it's a sin not a heresy, but it's a major sin because the penalty is literally death if you're actually faithful to God enough to be honest about his own word. Thus don't do that, I mean even dang dude the proposal is not just to get a tattoo but of the word "heretic", like seriously....... Yea everything the NT prophesied about these generations and the lovers of the Earth is true, that's for certain, praise Jesus.

I have several tattoos. And I do not find it sinful, this is not the context of this question.

For a long time, I have sought to find the Hebrew word for heretic. Two that pop up are goyim(gentile) and minim... i found a third but can't recall it at the moment. But the third is the best looking one.

Anyway I want to tattoo in gothic style Hebrew letters "Heretic" over laid with a christian cross across my back between the shoulders.

As a christian, I would assume the belief is heretical to Judaism.

What are your thoughts on this if you saw this tattoo?
Lev 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
Dead in the Hebrew is
H5315
נֶפֶשׁ
nephesh
neh'-fesh
From H5314; properly a breathing creature, that is, animal or (abstractly) vitality; used very widely in a literal, accommodated or figurative sense (bodily or mental): - any, appetite, beast, body, breath, creature, X dead (-ly), desire, X [dis-] contented, X fish, ghost, + greedy, he, heart (-y), (hath, X jeopardy of) life (X in jeopardy), lust, man, me, mind, mortality, one, own, person, pleasure, (her-, him-, my-, thy-) self, them (your) -selves, + slay, soul, + tablet, they, thing, (X she) will, X would have it.

Print in Hebrew is
H5414
נָתַן
nâthan
naw-than'
A primitive root; to give, used with great latitude of application (put, make, etc.): - add, apply, appoint, ascribe, assign, X avenge, X be ([healed]), bestow, bring (forth, hither), cast, cause, charge, come, commit consider, count, + cry, deliver (up), direct, distribute do, X doubtless, X without fail, fasten, frame, X get, give (forth, over, up), grant, hang (up), X have, X indeed, lay (unto charge, up), (give) leave, lend, let (out), + lie, lift up, make, + O that, occupy, offer, ordain, pay, perform, place, pour, print, X pull, put (forth), recompense, render, requite, restore, send (out), set (forth), shew, shoot forth (up). + sing, + slander, strike, [sub-] mit, suffer, X surely, X take, thrust, trade, turn, utter, + weep, X willingly, + withdraw, + would (to) God, yield.

Marks in hebrew has 2 words they are

H3793
כְּתֹבֶת
kethôbeth
keth-o'-beth
From H3789; a letter or other mark branded on the skin: - X any [mark].

H7085
קַעֲקַע
qa‛ăqa‛
kah-ak-ah'
From the same as H6970; an incision or gash: - + mark.

Based on this one verse, I really do not think God would approve of it.

The surrounding chapter is about witchcraft. It's what the tattoos are related to. Rebellion is as witchcraft and the NT even shows how tattoos are really a sign of ownership, that you're cattle you're owned by something. So you know instead of putting them to death (though technicaally we're being unjust judges by doing that) you still gotta understand the Spirit of the Law, you have to udnerstand right from wrong and the degrees of severity. I get how his proposal is kinda funny, again if he DOES NOT actually go through with it, maybe something to work into the bbq and rock and roll music instead. You need to know though, no Jesus is not going to find it funny if you appear before him on Judgment day with a tattoo of the word "heretic". Classic rebellion-slavery paradox how Satan traps so many. There's also a confusion of what the Pharisees even really are, the Pharisees are literally the biggest heretics of all time you know they literally deny the entire Athanasian Creed and thus the entire Bible and Christian religion. The Pharisees literally murdered Jesus and falsely accused him of blasphemy for saying he's the Son of God. The Pharisees did not follow or believe any of the Bible, not the Law nor the Prophets, and Jesus points this out over and over and over again as do the apostles. The Pharisees were hypocrites, even the straining of the gnat and the swallowing that camel, they strain at little details that are totally meaningless while neglecting the actually weighty matters of the Law (keep reading.) Praise Jesus.

"heresy will be revealed"?..

@Lynx .. Was your heresy revealed? Enquiring minds want to know! 😀
Well something was certainly revealed. This guy is a simple troll.

It was hilarious how easy it was to distract him from tattoos by throwing him a simple doctrinal bone. This proves it wasn't the topic of tattoos that was important to him. He just wanted to find something he could use to get under somebody's skin.

Then when he noticed how much the dating topic irritated seoulsearch, he jumped on that with both feet and rode it for all it was worth. Proving once again that he didn't care what the topic was, only whether he was able to cause trouble with it.

Then y'all had to bring up tattoos again and remind him of it...

I died once three years after getting a tattoo, but Jesus brought me back. I’m still looking for the crème de la saucer.

It's definitely a salvation issue, you can't deny God and be saved.
If the Holy Trinity part is what is important to you, there are other creeds you could cite. The Nicene Creed is explicitly trinitarian. Why don't you ask me if I hold to the Nicene creed?

Why do you insist on using the Creed that says all non-catholics will go to hell?

The Athanasian Creed is most thorough, if your cult rejects the Trinity doctrine specifically that portionn of the Athanasian Creed hence the follow-ups; Where do they disagree, where do they agree? This reveal the nature of their heresy. Modalism is my early bet, but you never know once they already are known to reject Christianity, they could be Arianism.

@legion

While the heretic hunters aside has been entertaining, I do want to actually answer your question and then add a little more.

First, if I saw a guy with a hebrew word and cross tattoo, I would probably assume he was a Christian. I know there's plenty of Christians out there that are into decorating with a hebrew word here and there because it's a Bible language (and maybe because it looks kind of cool or it can let their actual witness be a bit hidden since most people can't read hebrew words). I would say that @WiselyWoven made a very well referenced case for the reason tattoos might not be as innocuous as most modern people think and if I were thinking about getting one I'd want to look into some of those sources before making a final decision. I know there are some things that have been used for ungodly purposes that are not in an of themselves ungodly and can be used for godly purposes and there are some things that have their entire origin out of worship of other gods and really can't be repurposed. I don't know which category tattoos fall into.

My bigger concern is that in naming your business and in designing your tattoo and the pages and pages of thread that have followed, I'm starting to see a pattern of you like to be confusing, controversial and a bit of a shock jock type. And you seem drawn to symbolism that is rather anti-Christian. Naming your business after the demons in a Bible story is iffy, but when we look at the logo in the place you'd be (smoking the ribs) there's an evil looking troll monster. Is that what you'd choose to represent yourself? Do you think any church when looking for a caterer for some event would choose that company? Similarly with this tattoo, of all the words you could have chosen to have written in Hebrew you've chosen heretic. Now a random hebrew word plus cross makes me think Christian, if I saw someone with the word heretic scribbled across a cross where I could read it, I wouldn't be sure who that was: someone who was formerly proud of his rebellion against God now trying to show that he's under the blood or someone who used to be a Christian now flaunting that he has abandonded his faith and turned his back on God. If I put a lot of thought into it I'd probably think the latter since the former could have easily had a solid cross tattooed in or at least a strikethrough of the word heretic.

I'm still giving you the benefit of the doubt that you're sincere rather than deliberate troll, but if that's so then what is your purpose? Why ask about a tattoo that no one will see? Why talk about leaving false clues to cause confusion? Why ask for opinions about something you've already decided to do that you know will be controversial? And why not heed the feedback you receive? These just aren't the actions of someone who wants to show love to God and to his fellow people. So what's your purpose in doing this? What's motivating you?

To you every church is a cult. I just noticed where your profile says you don't go to church at all. No matter what church I go to, you will declare it a cult.

Try asking me if I believe the Nicene Creed.

Here's what I think

Legion is looking for a wife, at least he was in singles forum going 'hey I'm single'
Hoping for a Christian wife
Posts about a tattoo that only someone intimate would ever see (on his back) and asking for opinions. If someone is favourable, he might (surmising) PM them and ask them out. I'm guessing.

Am I right or am I right?
Or am I wrong?
