Also, Jacob prophesied that the seed of Israel would become a fullness of gentiles, so as to make Abraham's seed as the stars of heaven that no man can number. The names Ephraim and Israel are used synonymously in scripture.

And his father [Jacob] refused, and said, I know, my son, I know. He [Manasseh] also will become a people, and he also will be great, but truly his younger brother [Ephraim] will be greater than he, and his seed will become a fullness of gentiles. Genesis 48:19​
