I would abandon pagan mythology if I were you.
What say you to this? More of what you insist is "Jewish mythology"?

Or, is this prophetic CERTAINTY?

Yes, we do understand that many replacement theology theorists would rather that the book of Isaiah be ignored (so apparent on this thread). Or better yet not exist and be purged from the record forever.

[Isa 2:1-4 KJV] 1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, [that] the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Another of the many OT prophecies describing Christ's millenial kingdom that he establishes after he returns.

So. Maybe? What about Angels working and procreating from a test tube?(the seed)........kinda like we are trying and DOING today.

Try to hire a crane and moving company to move the 1000 TON precision cut rock that the ancients moved 600 miles from a quarry and precisely placed.

Look around...... Angels procreating with humans is just ONE of the impossibilities in your world.

Speculation.

Christ Jesus was clear, I will trust him.

I am not going to go on and on regarding this pagan mythology being brought into the Christian faith, I left the Catholic Church to get away from heresy only to find it in evangelical churches just as well and sometimes worse.

Isn't the adoption of Babylonian practices exactly what God hated in ancient times, seems like history can't help but repeat.

Just trust Christ Jesus He meant what He clearly stated, this generation is this generation, soon is soon, and angels do not and cannot procreate!!

There is plenty of evidence to repute this nonsense if one is really willing to tests one's knowledge, you did it once with regards to Calvinism I am hopeful you can do it again.

When it comes to reproduction, we need to remember that angels are not human. They are an entirely different life form. A different created kind! Therefore, it would be just as wrong for them to mate with humans as it would be for a human to mate with an animal (Leviticus 20:15). Furthermore, because God created us to reproduce after our own kind, it would be impossible for an angel to produce half-human offspring. That idea, the idea of gods [i.e. demons] mating with humans comes from paganism, not the Bible. In fact, because angels are spirit beings, and do not reproduce, there is no reason to believe that they have DNA. However, those who hold the “Nephilim” doctrine just explain away what the Bible says so that their additions to Scripture may stand, thus rebelling against God.

I have no idea where they get the idea that the “sons of God” are fallen angels, or how any fallen angel can be a “son of God” (Romans 8:14).

The Tyndale(Rogers, Coverdale) Bible translates the first words of Genesis 6:4 as, “There were tyrants in the world in those days”.

The NEPHILIM Heresy

Augustine of Hippo.

His disciples are continually and fully discredited on this tread day after day.

Augustine powerfully influenced Western Christianity.

He rejected angel-human unions partly because:

  • angels are spiritual beings
  • concern over mythological interpretations
  • desire for a more natural explanation

After Augustine, the Sethite view became dominant in much of Western Christianity.

**********************************************

Yes — Augustine of Hippo was significantly shaped by both earlier Manichaeism and later Platonism / Neo-Platonism before and during his Christian life. That influence is well documented historically.

Here is the historical picture.

1. Augustine and Manichaeism

Before converting to Christianity, Augustine was a Manichaean “hearer” for about nine years.

Manichaeism taught:

  • cosmic dualism
  • spirit vs matter
  • light trapped in material creation
  • strong metaphysical evil principle

Augustine was initially attracted because:

  • it claimed rational explanations
  • addressed the problem of evil
  • criticized simplistic biblical interpretations

Later, however, Augustine became one of Manichaeism’s fiercest critics after abandoning it.

He wrote major anti-Manichaean works attacking its doctrines.

So:

  • YES, he was deeply exposed to it.
  • NO, he did not remain Manichaean.

2. Neo-Platonism’s Influence

This influence was probably even more important.

Augustine read Neo-Platonic writers associated with:

  • Plotinus
  • Porphyry

Neo-Platonism influenced Augustine’s thinking about:

  • immaterial reality
  • hierarchy of being
  • divine transcendence
  • evil as privation
  • allegorical interpretation
  • the soul ascending toward God

Many scholars consider Augustine’s theology deeply shaped by Neo-Platonic categories.

3. Did This Affect His Genesis 6 Interpretation?

Many people argue yes.

Augustine strongly resisted the idea that angels physically mated with women because:

  • angels were immaterial spirits
  • the idea sounded mythological or corporeal
  • he preferred more philosophically “rational” interpretations

Thus he favored:

  • “sons of God” = line of Seth
  • “daughters of men” = line of Cain

Critics argue this reflected Greek philosophical assumptions more than ancient Hebrew cosmology.

That criticism is common among:

  • modern supernaturalist scholars
  • Second Temple Judaism researchers
  • some conservative biblical interpreters
I notice you tend to avoid what Christ Jesus states.. another diversionary post.

So ridiculous.
Oh that NT always causing you troubles.

Matt. 22:30
” For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.”, he is telling us that the angels were created by God without gender. They were created by God without the ability to propagate. Even those that fell from heaven in rebellion with Satan could not become physically other than they were created by God. They would not magically obtain the ability to conceive and bear children.

The implication of marriage is the only approved and sanctioned method for sexual relations.
The fact that Christ said the angels in heaven are not given in marriage means that they cannot procreate.
They cannot procreate whether they are in heaven, or on earth.
That particular belief of fallen angels mating with earthly women is a travesty of human misunderstanding of the word of God, and is fantasy.

The Western mindset does not allow for the poetical and metaphorical Eastern mindset.

This leads to sci-fi fiction hollywood scenarios and very wrong eschatology that is outside of God’s word.

God is very logical.
Did you know that what YOU believe is western and new? No one believed the preterist view until very recently. So what you are peddling is NOT the ancient nor eastern view, it is a modern western one. Thank you very much

So please, spare us the eastern mindset junk, when the eastern mindset is what you are battling against, a future individual antichrist in a temple in Jerusalem. As witnessed to by the early Church fathers like Irenaeus, Justin Martyr and the rest of them, it was standard, even the amillennial Augustine believed in a future antichrist.

Early Church Fathers frequently interpreted the Nephilim of Genesis 6:1-4 as literal giants or monstrous offspring, often drawing on apocalyptic literature like 1 Enoch. They largely viewed them as the product of "sons of God" (fallen angels/Watchers) and human women, resulting in destructive, supernatural beings whose violence prompted the Flood

To echo another member never deal with the actual text just accusations.
I will not be responding again.

"whose violence prompted the Flood"

Can we speculate on what this extreme violence might be related to?

How about killing all those who did NOT join in with most of humanity in worshipping the descended fallen angelic host?
Killing all those who REFUSED to "take the mark"?

Yes @HeIsHere , we can and should (and do) search the Scriptures (all of them) to obtain the CORRECT answers.
And if you will not, you do not, so that is why you "KNEW NOT".
What you prejudicially dismiss as "myth" is actually bedrock boilerplate Biblical truth.

Mat 24:37
But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Mat 24:38
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

Mat 24:39
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

**************************************

Rev 13:16
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

Rev 14:9
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,

Rev 14:10
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

************************************

1Pe 3:19
By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

1Pe 3:20
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

Definitely looks weird. And this UAP disclosure business is reaching a fever pitch.
But the wise have an historically and Biblically centered framework to work from.
So we have a pretty good idea of what is "going down".

Which is the Iran war is indeed totally stupid. Baffled that after all these years of similarly stupid wars supposedly intelligent people can't see the obvious
America has involved itself in a number of ill-advised and poorly run wars, to be sure. And you obviously don't see Iran as a threat. I wholeheartedly disagree. Besides their taking of hostages and killing American servicemen themselves or through proxies, they have kept the Middle East in turmoil for nearly 80 years. Changing this regime offers the opportunity for peace and prosperity in the region and beyond. I hope we are in the process of arming and training those who oppose the current regime and the people rise up and take their country back.
