no man is born again without baptism!

mk 16:16 he who believes and is baptized shall be saved

Jn 3:5
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

titus 3:5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

the laver of regeneration

This was John the Baptist speaking!
I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.” Mark 1:8

Grace and peace .........

There's a half a dozen Doctrines about how one becomes saved. Another half a dozen Doctrines about whether or not your salvation is permanent or can be lost.

But it really doesn't matter how it happens because if you don't have a personal one on one relationship with God He will say that He never knew you. And that is not God forcing the relationship that is you making the decision to know God on a personal level outside of the common Biblical knowledge.
How is a "one on one" relation between the Creator and the Created happen?

Why are you using what amounts to code words for most people?
Sozo means salvation.

So you learned a Greek word. Nice.

Do you think others are impressed?
Only you are. With yourself.

Unless you define it every time you use it?
You will lose people, not save them.

Stop it.
Welcome to 21st century Christianity! Any reference to the Koine Greek in which the New Testament is written "showing off." Strange. Very Strange.

"He who believes and is baptised will be saved" JC. 15th century Catholic abused and wounded "protestant" not-ua.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus sat them down after his resurrection and told them....

“While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:44, 46-48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him. And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.”

You could not be more wrong. The thief on the cross was not baptised. Some Australians were born again in an Indonesian prison. They were refused the opportunity to be baptised. Those men witnessed to other prisoners and began a fellowship. Even the prison guards were impressed. The men exhausted their appeals and were executed by firing squad. They were singing Amazing Grace as they were shot.

I knew nothing about baptism before I was born again. I was at sea on a warship. Even if I wanted to, baptism was not an option. Captain's duties do not include stopping the ship so I could be baptised.

Acts 10:43-45, 46-48
"All the prophets testify about Him that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins through His name.” While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who heard his message. All the circumcised believers who had accompanied Peter were astounded that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles.…"

"Then Peter said, “Can anyone withhold the water to baptise these people? They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have!” So he ordered that they be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ.

Water baptism followed salvation. Getting wet saves no one. The Holy Spirit does not fall on those who are spiritually dead. he will not dwell in an unclean vessel.

Not at all no .

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; and having an high priest over the house of God; let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

( this is a comparison ) He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:19-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The reference to Moses law is a comparison sayong under Moses law the people were punished for every transgression … how much worse should the punishment. Be when we make Jesus sacrifice unholy by serving sin continually and willfully we’re doing despite towards his grace ect

its definately speaking to those believers it’s been discussing like here earlier in the chapter

“By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: but this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; from henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:10-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

now look at the warning

“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:26-27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

( He refers to Moses law for a comparison as he’s been doing through the book then back to what he’s saying )

“how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?”
If I deliberately pour all my alcohol down the sink, there no longer remains any red wine for aperitifs. Does that mean I can nevet partake of aperitifs ever again.

If someone brks into my garage and deliberately steals my car, there no longer remains any means of personal transport for getting to work. Does that meanthere will never be a car in my garage ever again.

I think many are reading too much into the phrase “no longer”.

no longer ?

Im not sure brother I mean if you continually pour out the wine , and never repent and change the action …. How much wine would you ever have ?

and if someone repeatedly steals your car , and that never changes how often are you gonna drive to work?

Its about repentance not perfection .
It’s not written there to say “ if you sin one time after you come to Jesus …..your finished “ it’s a call to repentance and stirring up of the believer , so they don’t think “ I’m saved and sin is acceptable now i can’t be judged regardless of my actions “
The reason it’s there is the prior things he’s said to temper that idea

He first says

“For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

(Now he has to make sure they don’t misunderstand that ) and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

…. of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions; partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used. Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:14, 22, 24, 26-27, 29-33, 35-36‬ ‭

notice the warning is to the ones he’s just told them about how Jesus blood sanctifies forever now he’s saying “ if you refuse to repent and do good if you keep swerving pleasures and lusts rather than God ……. You are going to be judged like every other human and face a terrible outcome “

the wrong mind about our own behavior will destroy a Christian and blind us eventually . When we say “ I can never lose my salvation based on anything I do “ we’re missing a lot of the mind we’re supposed to accept and believe and have ourselves . The same thing always tempers thier writings to keep the balance of remission of sins and also repentance

The writer is stirring up the people to repent and obey more and more as they trust the rest of what they’ve been saying . About being sanctified and made new by Jesus

i think the whole section makes good sense if we read it and just Al take it for what’s being said and also is aligned with the rest of the New Testament

i think probably the key phrase in those passages there is the term “sin willfully” . Rather than “ no longer “

When I refuse to acknowledge my sins when I’ve commited sin or hide it or make provisions to continue on in it ….. this is willful . If I want to do good but still do wrong and I regret and feel guilty for doing it knowing in my heart “ that was wrong I’ve offended it’s my fault “ this shows it’s not wilfull and it’s where this comes in for us

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬
a

If we say we believe and we live life for our own selfish desires and follow our lusts and enjoy it and feel filled up ect ……..we’re caught between n willful sin and it’s because of our mindset towards our own behavior not mattering

Verses like “ if we sin willfully there remains no sacrifice …. Ect “ aren’t there so we can pluck them out just like “ your saved by grace “ isn’t there for that reason but they are orts of a si filet mesaage calling sinners to repentance through faith in Jesus Christ and the mesaage of the gospel

Interesting...

….“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit,
he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
John‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When your Mom went into labor to birth you? There was water!

Physical birth involves the mother breaking water.

Breaking water? = First birth.

The ancients watched birth taking place, unlike today where the mother is often taken first to a hospital where the birth is not seen.

That’s a well though and presented statement thanks

does this have any impact on the argument ?

hypothetically ,,,,, If we just were to say “ sin is sin “ for a moment and then we applied this as a belief that we actually believed and followed

If we confess our sins, ( what we’re told to do )

he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ( what he promises to do for us )

If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So if for the sake of argument we were to say okay “ of course it’s worse to murder than to tell a little white lie “
But it looks like liars and murderers are both receiving the lake of fire and second death

BUT Christian’s could believe and live life this way …..

“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:8-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we sometimes act like when we do sin and realize we have done something wrong . We pretend it’s no biggy and we don’t actually care that we sinned we use the argument “ I shouldn’t feel guilty for what I did because Jesus died to forgive me already for it “ or some similar reasoning but that’s not the message in truth.

“Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭18:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:19-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:7-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

liars don’t seem as bad as murderers or even adulterers and whoremongers but it looks like they all share the same fate

what if they had the promises of Christ though ? How he promised to faithfully forgive and restore and cleanse the believers who follow his word ? And recognize and confess our sins whether a lie or a theft or even an I’ll timed insult slung in anger or that time we spread that rumor or slandered someone or bore false witness or cheated someone on a deal ect ect ect

In other words we should know and feel when we’ve done something wrong or something isn’t right in our walk with God . If we can sin freely without guilt and the feeling of conviction we aren’t very in tune with Gods word or his spirit . If it bothers us enough to pray sincerely about it we’re probably on the right path of repentance

repentance is ongoing and part of it is when we slip up we have to be sincere and real about what we did even looking into why we did it to snuff out any motives that are causing an issue .
While we are wallowing in sin, it seems some sin cannot be forgiven. The sin of Adam and Eve have never been forgiven and we all are doomed to hell if we don't find salvation babies included. That is some serious sin.

Yes... some people are very slow in catching on.

the "few days" was from 51 (Matthew, Mark, Luke) or 52 (John) on at the feast of Pentecost.

Never forgiven? How's that?

Those animal skins the Lord provided from Adam and Eve?
An animal's blood was shed and provided to atone with to make it possible.

I too have favorite verses in Hebrews:
For if we deliberately keep on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins is left for us, 27but only a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a fury of fire that will consume God’s enemies. 28Someone who rejected the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29How much greater punishment do you think that person deserves who has contempt for the Son of God, and profanes the blood of the covenant that made him holy, and insults the Spirit of grace? 30For we know the one who said, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.” 31It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Whoever wrote Hebrews certainly warned that if we keep on sinning after our conversion.......

“Whoever wrote Hebrews certainly warned that if we keep on sinning after our conversion.......”

yea exactly that’s my only
Point but even more let’s look at one of Paul’s lovely letters and see if he gives the same types of warnings consistently , in his doctrine so full of grace

God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.

But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭2:6-8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade others. ( this is an apostle of Jesus talking to the church ) What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:10-11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written: “ ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’ ” So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:10-12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

These facts in his doctrine are for the same purpose Hebrews talks about willfully continuing in sin and gives the warning

“For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5:17-21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

a Paul has been telling them a lot about grace and reconciliation and inheritance in the kingdom …. Now he’s tempering it and evening the message out

Jesus does the same thing he preaches belief in him into salvstion but also tempers that with a call to repentance and obedience and warnings of the coming judgement , so do Peter and James John the messianic prophets of the ot even do the same thing because Gods mesaage is not only “ yoye sins are remitted because Jesus died “ it’s also “ repent and believe the gospel “

While we are wallowing in sin, it seems some sin cannot be forgiven. The sin of Adam and Eve have never been forgiven and we all are doomed to hell if we don't find salvation babies included. That is some serious sin.
How do you know God didn’t forgive Adam ?

Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I think if we consider David for a moment we could see something about God and our hearts even in failure

To simmarize ( I’m sure you know the story but ) David was chosen by God through extraordinary circumstances as god often chooses to do things . He was loved and favored by God he honored the law of Moses and was the chosen beloved king of Israel blessed was David By the lord

One day he was atop his roof and saw a naked woman bathing on another. He became attracted and interested in her sexually so he Inquired and found she was married to a faithful israelite named Uriah the Hittite. ( thou shalt not covet)

david desires her so much that he called for her to his chambers and layed with her commiting adultery while Uriah was in battle defending Israel. Things became worse as she was impregnated by David and so now he began to scheme ways to deceive Uriah and make him somehow think it’s his child so he tries to get him to sleep with his wife when he returns but Uriah the faithful israelite says oh no I won’t go home until the ark is completely safe I’ll stand guard with the men and see my wife later I serve the lord !

adter some failed attempts at deception David begins to think how he’s going to be able to hide his sin from the people after all David has commited one sin of death already ( Leviticus 20:10) and so he comes to the conclusion Uriah must die in order to cover what he’s done so he makes the plot and orders his soldiers to get Uriah on the front line of battle and then withdraw and leave him alone against an army to die ….. and the plan is executed

snow dqvid is guilty of the blood of a faithful israelite servant of God as well as commiting adultery with and impregnating his wife. All to satisfy his own lust …. This legendary man of God in the ot king David …..

after all that happened , a psalm of david

Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge. Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you. Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, you who are God my Savior, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness. My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭51:1-4, 9-14, 17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

look what David learned about hiding sins v trusting in gods mercy and confessing them

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no guile.

When I kept silence, my bones waxed old Through my roaring all the day long. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: My moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

I acknowledged my sin unto thee, And mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; And thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. ( withoit this truth about him no one stands a chance )

. For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: Surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭32:1-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Later when god speaks of David he says David was a man after his own heart who always did the right thing …… it’s not that his was unaware of David’s sins but rather he was aware and David repented and god forgave his son and all the iniquity it carried !!!

The New Testament is based upon that mercy shown to David the sinner who God loved deeply

“Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people. Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:3-4, 6-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Now here’s the real point after David was gone and buried Thisnos gods wotness about him the same man who did those things and later confessed and repented from a grieved heart
Thisnos gods word aboit David after his life was lived

“And it shall be, if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did; that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee.”
‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭11:38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

jesus speaks of blasphemy against the holt ghost as unforgivable . That’s true but any sin we refuse to acknowledge and repent of is the issue it’s not that god won’t forgive it’s that we won’t repent

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That means He’s willing always to forgive sinners when we repent and return the important part is sincerity from the heart

Yeah …..

Have you ever noticed before that was said when Jesus emerges from the water of his baptism imediatly he hears a voice identifying him as gods son ? And receives the Holy Ghost ?
kind of like a birth from a womb huh ? Emerging from the water and receiving the spirit being identified as the child of the father ….
heres Jesus baptism

“And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: and there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:9-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

kind of like a new son being born of water and spirit huh ?
here’s how the apostles of Jesus baptized people who believed after Jesus died and rose

“And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:38‬ ‭
“While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, ( water) that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost ( spirit ) as well as we?

And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:44, 46

This is why they baptized in his name

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“ Born of water “ is a reference to baptism in Jesus name for remission of sins Jesus was also baptized for the remission of our sins he would carry to the cross . We’re meant to be baptized just the way he was and receive the spirit just as he did even being baptized not in our own name as we are buried but his name who died for our sins was buried and rose again as were raised up from the water in his name …..

baptism is basic stuff and really isn’t a mystery it’s well explained but here …… it’s hard to even get past the initial doctine of it
