3 prescriptions done with, 5 more to go.

In two weeks, I'll be down to only taking three meds total. Those meds will be one psych med, one med to manage my blood pressure and one med to manage my cholesterol.

If y'all can pray that I can handle this, I'd appreciate this.

It's 1:30ish AM right now and I'm having a hard time sleeping.

My nurse practitioner also prescribed me another new psych med but she said to take it as needed. I'm not a fan of the weight gain side effect of it, so I most likely won't be taking it.

I just want off all these meds and see what it's like without them.

You'll remain in our prayers, our brother in Christ. Keep at it... God is with you at every step and has our prayers in His ears. Where two or more gather in His name, that's where He is.

Thank you @Standard

You don’t know how much that means to me right now.

Keep up the good work. When things are at the lowest points, look up, put your hands up, and let God pull you up. He is always there.

You are on my daily prayer list.

Thank you so much @Billyd

I just don't want to be under big pharma/the whole mental health industry's control anymore.

I lay here on my "sick bed" listening to sermons, listening to scripture, talking to my significant other each day and we just want this weaning off process to be done with.

I just remembered today that I didn't have mania (where I stayed up all night) before the final psych med on the list, might wean off of that one also and then, see what my health is like and go from there.

Thank you for the prayers, Billyd

I'll pray for you too. Psych meds are not easy with their side effects. God is with you - you've got this!

Thank you @2ndTimeIsTheCharm

Everyone seems to be so supportive here today.

I’m really hoping that this will be one big win against “the system” 😂

I will endure the suffering necessary to prove that there is no need for me to be on these meds.

melatonin for sleep? I take it daily.
Yeah, I took melatonin last night but I rarely take it because I heard it’s best just to get some sun every day to get a good circadian rhythm.

Long term use of melatonin I hear can cause a dependency on it.

An hour or more of indirect sunlight helps me sleep better than any sleeping medication. We spend at least an hour each day outside, and I don't take any, and my wife has reduced her dependence on sleep meds by 90%.

Nice! That’s a win!

In about an hour or so, I’ll probably go get some sun myself.

I’m usually out there for only 15 minutes though

I hope that you can stay longer. It rained here all morning, but sun is out now, and I'm going to take advantage of it. I hear the birds calling.

At my age I am blessed to have time just to sit in the swing and enjoy the company of my wife and the beauty of the world around me.

Well, it's been over a week since stopping three meds. It was an emotional rollercoaster, but I just continued moving forward.

I saw my nurse practitioner yesterday, and she was happy to know how well I was handling all of it.

Today is the last day for Divalproex, and Monday is the last day for Vraylar. I'm on such low dosages that they probably won't affect me at all, getting off them.

Pretty soon, I'll have my normal brain again, without all the prescription meds that turned me into a zombie previously.

Very cool.

Congratulations....! Stay yoked to God and keep it up. We're praying and rooting for you...

I was wrong about it not affecting me on the last day of weaning. Every single final day of a medication affects me in a way I’d wish on no one.
