There's a reason why you won't share and it's because if you did it would conflict with your claim that you didn't have a spirit before salvation. Someone preached ( " HOW THEN SHALL THEY CALL ON HIM in whom they have not believed? and HOW SHALL THEY BELIEVE in Him of whom they have not heard? and HOW SHALL THEY HEAR WITHOUT A PREACHER? Rom. 10:14) or testified of Gods' Word to you, which are spirit, and by it you were drawn, by your spirit,(not your soul to which it was foolishness), to receive Jesus as your Savior. Your conversion story is very relevant to this conversation, if you could only be open and honest. Experienced people taught you about the Word of God, didn't they? Did you learn anything Sawdust?

Excuse me? How dare you call me a liar. I explained why my experience is irrelevant. Just because you want to put your experience on par with the word of God does not give you the right to condemn me.

We do not learn about God from our experience, we learn from the word of God and if you bothered to listen to it as much as you claim you would understand that.

Let us revisit a subject, if you will. When in the book of James it reads " For as the body without the spirit is dead,..." James 2:26 the word dead here is, Strong's 3498; nek-ros from prim. nekus ( a corpse ), dead lit. or fig, also as a noun dead, This speaks of people who are no longer alive. In Eph. 2:1 it reads " And you hath He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;..." The word dead here is the same in James but it can't mean no life because to be in sin you have to be alive. So to study it out I found Strong's 3499, which is derived from 3498; nek-ro; TO DEADEN, I.E. subdue:- be dead, mortify. So the word dead DOES mean deadened in this case, as in our deadened spirits before being quickened, Strong's 2227 dzo-op-oy-eh-o;( re)-vitalize, (lit. or fig.)- make alive, give life, quicken. You revitalize, make alive and give life to something that's already in existence. C'mon Sawdust, gimme some more rope, unless, of course, you have use for it yourself :-)) P.S. Are you one of the ones who don't understand the Bible or one of those that do?

Dead is dead, there is no such thing as a partial deadness. We were dead in our sins is not physically dead or intellectually or emotionally dead, we were spiritually dead because we had no spirit living in us. Real simple.

I see you never bothered to explain the actual mechanics of how we could be born with this "deadened" spirit.

Strong's provides words and their meanings which is the crux of our disagreement. So I guess the only one, in your opinion, who can solve this dilemma is your teacher right? Sometimes, when painted into a corner, it can feel like being bullied, because there's no other way out, but through the wet paint.
You have no clue as to what can happen to these words when they are seen within its Greek syntax .

Greek syntax refers to the rules and principles that govern the structure of sentences in the Greek language, including word order and the relationships between words.

My so-called misapplication of quickened came from Strong's Concordance, oh well, I guess you know more than them .

You think that is all there is to know for understanding the Bible?
It is only a start.
It is much better than nothing in a certain respect.
A concordance was something that a first year Bible student might find authoritative.
But there is so much more yet to be understood.

If you ever allowed yourself to submit to genuine full exegetical teachings....
You would soon know.
And, the teachings would speak for themselves.

You are missing the point entirely.

If it was able to do that for all times?
We would not be arguing.

You would have to show at least one passage where it says we have a dead human spirit in us from birth.

Keep in mind... "Spirit" was used in a way that could mean 'breath.'
A body cannot function or be considered alive without a spirit.

For the simple-minded who want to see themselves highly in their own eyes?
They invent things to make themselves to appear exclusive in contrast to others.
That sort of way is a trap of the Devil to divide the body of Christ.

Not my teacher. That is your set-up.
No. Your teacher is the problem solver.
Who is he? A book?

The Scripture completes us….

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God quickens our spirit when we are learning Bible teaching as to have our soul comprehend it.

And, also quickens our spirit when the Holy Spirit is having us to recall something needed we have learned to apply it to our thinking for a given situation.

God quickens our spirit to help us understand and embrace spiritual truths, leading to a revitalization of our soul. This process involves becoming more aware of the Holy Spirit's presence and influence in our lives.
God quickens our spirits at the new birth. You're talking about getting revelation revealed by the Holy Spirit, and Him bringing the Word to our remembrance. These don't bring about a revitalization of our souls it brings about a renewing of our minds(souls), pushing out the old way of thinking, not revitalizing it. We are to be led by our spirits, not our souls. Our souls (minds, wills and emotions) must decrease while we grow spiritually stronger by taking Gods' thoughts and making them our own.

I never called you a liar, I just asked you to be open and honest about your conversion experience. it might help someone. You only said that your conversion was irrelevant with no reasons given. God uses a lot of avenues for us to learn of Him, with the Bible being the foundational main source, but peoples testimonies, things He brings us through in life ( our experiences), etc., etc., also helps us understand His nature, character and trustworthiness, thereby we also learn of Him. We can't box God in.

I am very teachable. Just not gullible.
And, not to be bullied.

Strongs can only provide a limited scope, not actual exegesis.
You believe it does.

Strongs would cause strange results if it was used like you keep doing to explain what Jesus meant when he said we should pluck out our eye., or cut off our hand.
I never tried to explain anything about plucking out eyes or cutting off hands, that wasn't the subject. Did you just try a diverse tactic? Stay on point Genez, focus.

" A body cannot function or be considered alive without a spirit." THAT'S been my point all along, even BEFORE salvation man has a spirit, where you guys say that you only have a spirit AFTER salvation. There you go again with the name calling. Let me count, simple minded, stupid, the devil, etc., hmm, anymore you'd like to add Nezey? Again, I NEVER POSTED THAT MAN WAS BORN WITH A DEAD SPIRIT. Your point has been rounded off, that's why I'm missing it, it's not there.

How can you have a dead spirit?

Angels can not even die.

How can you be spiritually dead if you don't have one? But you can, according to Strong's NT3499- nek-ro-o, have a deadened one, that can be quickened.

I was using that as an example of what you do.

If you used your concordance to also try to explain what Jesus meant when he spoke about plucking out your eye?

It will tell you the word 'eye' speaks of a literal eye.

Beautiful song, is that you singing?
No, the music and voice are ai generated to a style prompt I fashioned hoping to get a good
result for my lyrics, which is like trying to herd cats as I say, and can be quite crazy making
because some prompts work well for certain songs and then others I have generated over a
hundred versions of and still am thinking, surely there is something that can be better than
what I have gotten so far? But it is part of my personal testimony and I thank you for indirectly
calling for it... I have written other testimony type songs but this one may be the best... late last
year I started generating music to poetry I had written in the 70s and 80s, and when I ran out
of that I collected Scripture verses around specific themes for perhaps six songs or so, and they
turned out well but did not scratch my desire to be creative, and so that was when I started
composing original modern devotional praise and worship testimonials. My channel says 90 songs
but a few are dupes for one reason or another and some are private also. If I look at my playlist on
my phone it says 77 videos. Still it may only be 70 original songs and also Cameron gave me
permission to put some of his poems to music, so two of them are on my channel as well :)

This is one of Cameron's that I generated music for:

Now you're going into the future to try to tell me what I MIGHT say. So, are you a prophet now Nezzy? Yes, He's speaking of a literal eye, but just like His turning the other cheek reference He doesn't mean for us to literally do it. Why, you may ask? Because when the soldier slapped Him He didn't turn the other cheek, He asked why.

Heh, lately I have been on a bit of tear working certain words into songs like propitiation and reconciliation... I think
I have put those and other rhyming words (crucifixion, salvation, redemption ascension etc) into maybe ten songs so far!

This is one of my faves of those. I need to catalogue them, perhaps... ;) :giggle:

Mary is even referenced in this song (though not named)...

Again and Again and Again, I HAVE NEVER POSTED THAT ANYONE HAD OR HAS A DEAD SPIRIT and since you won't accept Strong's definition of dead in the Greek 3499 nek-ro-o ( I guess because you know soooo much better then they) you will remain dull of hearing and stay in error.
