a) mum
b) dad
C) big brother
d) big sister
e) supervisor at work
f) I'm my own boss!
g) God/higher power
e) I'm the one bossing everyone else
f) teachers at school
g) everyone I'm the doormat
h) the algorithm

No one. Hubby and I have never had that issue. Possibly the German Shepard. She's taken the couch for her own and she knows my hubby will cave and give her human food. She actually waits till I leave the room. When I come back she had her head on his TV tray begging food. Otherwise, don't have that issue in life.

Jesus said that we should let our light shine before men, that they may see our good works and glorify our Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16. I think that answers your first question because the glory associated with our good works goes to God and not to us in some sort of vainglorious way.

As to your second question, Paul did say in 2 Corinthians 6:17-18, while seemingly alluding to portions of scripture like Isaiah 52:11 and Leviticus 26:12, that we should separate ourselves and touch not the unclean thing, that God might receive us as sons and daughters. This, like several other Bible passages, leads me to believe that we ought not be doing or touching the things that God has told us not to do or touch. After all, that is precisely what Adam and Eve did, and that brought sin and death into this world.​

I think of God as the Good Shepherd.

There are bad shepherds and there are good shepherds.
Bad shepherds bark at you, and threaten you if you don't conform. They chase you and beat you. They fence you in. They drench you with nasty chemicals and sell you out so they can get fat off you. They torture you with promises and then don't follow through. They don't care about you, you are a number to them and exist to fatten their wallets. The flock size is huge so they can tick the boxes.

Good shepherds guide you and lead you to fresh pastures. You can go to them for comfort. They'll pick you up when you are down. They'll keep the wolves away. They'll gently shear you and if you have to die for them it won't be painful. The Good Shepherd knows each sheep by name and He knows you by heart. He looks after the flock, but when one goes astray, he leaves the 99 to find the lost one.
 
Otherwise, big sis always bosses little sis around.
Went on road trip, was looking at souvenirs, esp magnets. Big Sis says don't waste your money on things you don't need! Its just clutter! I got plenty of magnets. Don't buy any.

Grr I can't even go shopping with her with my OWN money, without her telling me what I can't spend it on.
She doesn't even live with me, and its not her money, not her fridge and the magnets are not that expensive. And nobody was selling them to me or asking me to buy them, I was just LOOKING at them.

Also, I don't get to go to many places that often. While she has travelled all over the world, I hadn't been anywhere outside the country in 10 years, much less done many road trips. Besides what else are you supposed to put on your fridge? Nothing will hold up on there unless you have magnets. Its not like I have huge empty wall space in the kitchen for a noticeboard. Anyway....she won't listen to my reasoning.
 
I see many people don't have problems with other humans, just pets.

Unfortunately I do need to touch the unclean thing, especially when doing housework and gardening.
