They received not the truth. Btw, elect is not found in the passage.
It doesnt have to be. Paul had already identified them as elect, he doesnt have to keep saying it 1 Thess 1:4-5

5 For our gospel came not unto you[the elect] in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God. 2 Thess 2:13

But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

You looking for sound bites so you can comfortably reject scripture

Those scriptures pertain only to the elect
Aint that convenient. You gotta change a lot of verses in the Bible to make it fit, whilst accusing others of doing the same

Not for ours only (elect) but for the whole world (elect)
God sent His son into the world to save it (the elect out of it)
God wants all (elect) men to be saved-
God is angry at His own decree that Israel failed and God expected better results in Isaiah 5, if only He had decreed otherwise right?

To say TULIP is the gospel, is to say NOONE believed the gospel until recently. Quite sad.

Jonah 3:
9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

Once God iniates, one is saved, made alive
The Oil (represents the Holy Spirit) was poured over Saul the same as it was David and yet Saul rejected God. I don't think you understand much of what you copy and paste from the Bible.

I dont know what you talking about, and dont see how its related to what Im saying

I totally agree. I should have expressed my agreement earlier.

Paul’s shift from “we” to “you” in Ephesians isn’t meant to divide Jews and Gentiles into separate covenant categories—it’s his gentle way of celebrating how God brought two very different groups into one family through Christ. When he says “we,” he’s speaking as a Jewish believer who first hoped in the Messiah; when he says “you also,” he’s joyfully acknowledging the Gentile believers who later heard and believed the same gospel. The choosing he describes is personal and “in Christ,” not a national covenantal status, because both groups were spiritually dead and both were made alive the same way—by grace. Paul’s whole point is that God didn’t just make a covenant with Israel; He created one new humanity in Christ, where every believer, Jew or Gentile, stands on equal ground as God’s chosen and adopted children.

The point is that the passage is NOT at all about God chosing particular selected individuals for spiritual salvation.

1) Israel’s election to service and to be a holy nation was a well established and familiar concept in the Old Testament Scriptures;
2) the Scriptures to which Paul was alluding can be found in Deuteronomy
3) it is this Old Testament concept of election that is in view in Ephesians 1.

As well as to your statement about the verb tense, I will go with an excellent Greek scholar.

The aorist active participle proorisaV(“having predestined us”) modifies the verb ezelezato(“he chose us”) and further explains what it means.

It implies a determined choice before hand or in advance.
Based on the nature of the verb predestined and of the following modifying phrases, we take this as an ingressive aorist.

The aorist tense may be used to stress the beginning of an action or the entrance into a state. Unlike the ingressive imperfect, there is no implication that the action continues.

This simply left unstated. The ingressive aorist is quite common.

Wallace, Daniel B. Greek Grammar Beyond the Basics, Zondervan, 1996

The predestination of Israel to be God’s chosen people was according to His good pleasure.
And again this election was to service.

They were His children in a covenantal sense, but NOT necessarily in the New Birth sense... meaning each one had to exercise faith and belief to be spiritually saved bu the future coming of the Messiah

The End.
#Scholarship and Context Refutes TULIP

Yes, and there is no reason God's hatred for half of humanity God does not pertain to you per tulipism.
Yeah imagine how the people during the time of the flood, while being suffocated to death, God saving only 8 people out of millions.

They were the lineage of Cain who was cursed. Not much to think about. If you read the lineage of Cain you see all of the bad and mischievous.

If you read the lineage of Seth you see everyone going to Heaven and eventually the last 8 people connected to the lineage of Seth were Saved on the Ark.

It really is not a shock unless you abide by a false doctrine and try to place both lineages together as one.

They were men God had created from Adam Gen 6:5-8

5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

Im sure many of Noahs family drowned, I know he had more blood relatives than his wife and kids and their wives. What about cousins, nephews, aunts and uncles and so forth. Dont try to minimize those human lives

Once again you are assuming because we know for a fact from the Bible only the 8 people of Noah's family LEFT entered the Ark because the only other family member died right before they entered named Methuselah.

So NO, no one of Noah's blood family and lineage of Seth died in the flood.

I don't know how we can be sure of that, because, apart from Enosh, none of Seth's children is named in the Bible. We are just told:

(Gen 5:7) After he begot Enosh, Seth lived eight hundred and seven years, and had sons and daughters.

The same applies to Enosh, for we read:

(Gen 5:10) After he begot Cainan, Enosh lived eight hundred and fifteen years, and had sons and daughters.

And of Cainan we likewise read:

(Gen 5:13) After he begot Mahalalel, Cainan lived eight hundred and forty years, and had sons and daughters.

So if we are not told all the lineage of Seth, how can we be sure that the lineage consisted only of Noah and his family at the time of the Flood? Just wondering, not arguing.

Election or Chosen is not a salvation concept. Start in the OT. look at each reference to election/chosen. Not one is used in a salvation context. Election is just being selected to occupy a privileged position in the plan of God. For example, God chose the Jews to be the nation he would use to display his holiness and other attributes. And, he chose the Jewish nation but obviously not all Jews were saved. Jesus is called the Elect, and the NT believers are part of the group. Jesus said that he chose the 12 disciples yet not all of them (Judas) were saved.

This also solves the dilemma of How one is elected. I mentioned that Christ is the Elect one. Just like the Christian, by way of the Baptism of the HS, shares in the attributes of Christ, Christ is holy we are called saints, Christ has eternal life, this life is imputed to every Christian. Christ is the Elect one, we share in his election. Christ is the

Calvinism and Arminianism argue their positions on Election as if it were talking about God's eternal salvation. Positional Truth explains both Election and Predestination. We are chosen IN HIM (Eph 1.4). To be IN HIM, one has to accept Christ as Savior. Once IN HIM, then you are elected or chosen, but again these do not teach anything about eternal salvation. Every one who enters IN HIM becomes an elect people. We are not chosen to salvation, we are chosen to service.

It really doesnt matter, Grace for Salvation isnt contingent upon blood line, Noah needed grace because he was a sinner, God saves some sinners according to the election of grace
