Just remembering I'm pretty sure my soul as Adam is now a quickened Spirit like the last Adam

We did not become a spirit that is no longer a soul.

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely.
And may your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept sound and
blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."

1 Thessalonians 5:23

It is impossible for the physical earth to be billions of years. Erosion is still causing cliffs near where I live to collapse. How is that possible if the process has been going on so long? Everything that is not solid rock should be at the bottom of the ocean. The moon is moving away from the earth at the rate of about 40 mm a year. If it was formed billions of years ago, it should have escaped earth's orbit by now. There are still vast reserves of oil and gas. With the frequency and power of earthquakes, gas especially should have escaped into the atmosphere.

Oil and coal supposedly formed over millions of years. This is evidently not true. Upright trees have been found in coal seams. A more likely explanation is Noah's flood that devastated forests with incredible force. Do you know how they make synthetic diamonds? Pressure. Not over millions of years, in a lab. Again, the pressure of 4,000 metres water depth could form diamonds.

If you dismiss the story of Noah as myth or allegory, you may as well dismiss the whole of the Old Testament. Noah appears in the genealogy of the human race.

I don't know exactly how old the earth is or precisely when Noah's flood took place. I'm also convinced that the earth was created long before Adam and Eve were created. I believe that there was a prior creation, also destroyed by flood, the result of Satan losing his place in heaven as Lucifer. So there is a valid explanation for an earth older than the 6,000 years implied by the Biblical record. The reality is, no one knows for sure except God.

You seem to engage in double-speaking: you object to the earth being very old and then propose it was created long before A&E.
You appear to object to viewing the story of A&E as an allegory because you ignore the fact that Jesus employed metaphorical language in his parables. Spiritual truth may be conveyed via both literal and analogical/figurative language.
The differing opinions is why I advocate for all views that have supporting evidence be taught and may the truth win.
Yes, the truth is that everyone walks by faith regarding reality.

    • And so it is written": This refers back to Genesis 2:7, where God breathed life into Adam.
    • "Living soul": The Greek word is psyche, meaning a natural, physical life bound to Earth.
  • Quickening spirit": "Quickening" is an old English word meaning "life-giving." It signifies that Jesus has the power to give eternal, resurrected life to others.
    • Ephesians 2:1: "And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins...
  • Physical Resurrection: The reanimation of a dead physical body.
    • Romans 8:11: "...he that raised up Jesus from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."
  • The Power of Christ: The ability to grant life.
    • 1 Corinthians 15:45: "...the last Adam was made a quickening spirit." (A spirit that actively radiates and imparts life to others. I say second Adam but its just to make one look.
    • .Jesus is the To Last Adam ,there is No Third Adam
    • When understand The quickened Spirit is forever Life Producer if look at it right meanings.

Here part of your verse 5:23
  • Spirit (Pneuma): The highest part of man, designed to commune with God. This is the part that is quickened (made spiritually alive) by the Holy Spirit. Without Christ, the spirit is dormant or "dead" in sin.
  • Soul (Psyche): The seat of personality, intellect, emotions, and will. It is the "I" or the self. The first Adam was made a "living soul." A quickened soul is one whose mind, will, and emotions are being transformed because their spirit has been made alive.

Recently years I am into quantum physics. Light is a partical, as well as wave. Same for a human, is a big particle, as well as wave. It is call partical wave duality.

Our physical being is related to our spiritual being, I wonder that's similar as particle wave duality.

When God says He is light, it is very interesting to look into the character of light. Light is really an electro magnetic wave, it can pass through vacuum, it doesn't need any medium to carry it through, it is self sufficient.

there is a lot of connections between Bible and quantum theories. Fascinating.

I take the Genesis account exactly as it is written. What I do believe is that the earth was not created formless and empty to begin with. I believe that there was a creation that was judged by water prior to the restoration of the earth and the creation that we see now.

This is not a salvation issue. However, it does explain how the earth can appear to be much older than 6,000 years. How much older, no one can say. It does explain aspects of the fossil record.

I believe that Noah's flood was world wide and killed every creature apart from that which was on the ark. Since Lord Jesus referred to the days of Noah and the ark as real, I am inclined to do the same. You can't have it both ways. If the days of Noah are allegorical, so are the days of the Son of Man.

We are fundamentally spirit beings, that have a soul and that inhabit a body. Lord Jesus in His humanity has a soul.

Spirit is the realm in which we relate to God. The spirit is the part of us that is made alive when we are born again.

Soul is the realm in which we relate to the external world.

Body is the way in which we physically interact with the world.

The soul is where most of our problems lie. We come to Christ with an old mind that must be renewed. We come to Christ with a will that is programmed to be independent of God and ruled by our own selfish desires. We are too often ruled by emotion. "If it feels good, do it!" was the anthem of the 60's. Graveyards are full of people who went down that track.

Well, in Genesis humans are described as being souls who have both bodies and the spirit of life (Gen. 1:20&24, 2:7),
but this understanding has morphed into what you just said plus the HS indwells saved souls when they are reborn.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 says that spirit, soul and body are distinct. Hebrews 4:12 says that God's word divides soul and spirit. To be precise, the Holy Spirit indwells the born again human spirit. God is Spirit and we are made in His image. We are spirit beings, who have a soul, who inhabit a body. That's what God's word says, anyway. So no, not morphed.

Do a study on the human spirit. It is mentioned 387 times in the Old Testament alone. it is not the soul. They are different words in Hebrew.

Peter, if I may, the 387 times the term spirit is found in the Scriptures I think I ou will agree they are not used in the same manner.

We can find many words like tree, son of man, messiah, etc., that are used very differently.

So, would you agree that there is a definition of how God created man? And regardless of how many times the word soul or spirit is found in the OT the first mention (definition) of a soul does not change- agree?

So, what is the definition found in Genesis for His creation? What is a soul? Thanks.

There is a definition of how man was created. God created man a living being. It is not clearly stated exactly what man was in his nature. That we gain from other passages in God's word. Sure, the 387 uses of "spirit" in the OT are not all the same. However, it soon becomes clear that man has a spirit. This makes perfect sense when you consider that we are made in the image of God. God is, after all, Spirit.

God warned Adam that should he eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he would die. And not 930 years later, but on the same day. It is obvious that death was not physical. Adam died spiritually. The human spirit that God intended to dwell in became instantly separated from God. (See Isaiah 59:2)

Now Adam could still think, choose and express emotion. This is the soul. And obviously his body was still alive.

At first, Adam related to God only through his soul. God gave Adam natural life to enable him to function as a human being. Adam again could choose, think and express emotion. We see this in how he responded when he saw Eve for the first time. We also see this in the negative, when he chose the forbidden fruit instead of the fruit of the Tree of Life.

God did not, and does not, intend for man to live according to the natural life that He gave Adam. If the natural life was God's ultimate, then there would have been no need for the Tree of Life. We also are told that the natural man does not accept the things of God (1 Corinthians 2:14). That is also the consequence of Adam's rebellion.

In order to comprehend God's truth, we need revelation from God's Spirit. God does not "save" the natural man that we were born with. He gives us His Holy Spirit to lead us into truth. If we rely on natural reason and logic, the things of God are incomprehensible to us.

What is the Soul. Forget all the new age spiritualism and pagan mysticism.

The Bible defines the soul primarily as a living person or a principle of life within a being, rather than an inherently immortal, disembodied spirit. Throughout the Scriptures, the term "soul" is used to describe the entire person, the seat of the affections, or the life-force that is subject to God's law and, ultimately, to death.

Primarily a living person.= Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Dust or physical parts + breath of life or life from God. = living soul.

When God saved Noah and his family from the flood, the scripture describes them as "eight souls" who were saved through water 1 Peter 3:20. This shows that a soul is not just a part of a person, but the person as a whole.

Contrary to common tradition, the Bible is clear that the soul is not naturally deathless. It is subject to the consequences of sin and is capable of perishing.

The Soul Can Die
God explicitly states that He owns all souls and that "the soul that sins, it shall die" Ezekiel 18:4, 20.
Jesus warned that we should fear God, who is "able to destroy both soul and body in hell" Matthew 10:28.
The Reward of Sin is death, and Since the wages of sin is death, the soul that remains in sin will expire and cease to live, as it does not possess inherent immortality Genesis 2:17.

The ultimate purpose of the Gospel is the "saving of the soul" through faith Hebrews 10:39. By turning a sinner from error, a "soul is saved from death" James 5:20. This salvation is the restoration of the image of God in the human soul through the power of the Holy Spirit.
We are encouraged to search the Scriptures as our guidebook to understand God's will for our souls, for they are what testify of Jesus and the path to eternal life John 5:39.

GW did not include the NT when Genesis was written, so yes, morphed!

Do a study of Gen. 2:7 and understand that spirit refers to life in the OT
before moving to 1Thes. 5:23 and morphing if you must, although
it is unnecessary per that verse, which merely means our whole being.

BTW, Paul indicates that souls will have spiritual bodies in heaven,
so do not omit 1Cor. 15 from the harmonization.

For all you freakin weirdos who get stuck on an erroneous idea and refuse to let go?

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils
the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7

What the heck is wrong with you?
Who hypnotized you? Galatians 3:1

Angels are spirit beings.
Man is a soul being.

Now go stupid on that?

Shameful.

One's understanding of what a soul and spirit are, is, in the modern day, clouded by cultural scientific blindness. Science tends to assume, and most people follow the assumption, that what is physical is real and that physical objects have clear boundaries. Science in fact knows that to be in error, but it is convenient for many processes.

Now the ancients knew that the boundaries were much more flexible. They had a fairly clear idea as to just what a soul and a spirit were, distinctions we have largely lost, and which would be difficult to explain. But late 20th and early 21st century Consciousness Studies have opened the door to rediscovering the distinction.

Humans are both souls and spiritual beings, there is no contradiction in such a statement. Anyone who says otherwise is being stupid and ignoring the evidence available from the creation.

Shameful

When Adam and Eve ate... they died.
'Spiritually.'

For as far as physically?
They were still running around gathering fig leaves.

Some are not seeing that distinction yet.

God intended for all souls to be spiritual beings.
The fall of Adam altered that to being only a potential.
Now all souls need to be born again to be made spiritual.

Otherwise? Why should man need to be born again for?

Soul and spirit and are both invisible and immaterial.
But not both being the same immaterial thing.

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a
discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." Hebrew 4:12.

grace and peace .........

This only comes by Holyspirit Ruach.
Pneuma Zoopoion This is what The Holy Spirit brings to new life Paul's talks once about it. Here on more of the soulThe Soul is a Consumer, Not a Producer
In both the Old and New Testaments, the soul (Nephesh in Hebrew, Psuche in Greek) represents the seat of individual personality, emotions, intellect, and biological life.
  • The soul is what makes you you—it holds your memories, willpower, and feelings.
  • However, the soul is a created entity. It relies on an external power supply to exist and cannot generate new life out of itself. The Genesis 2:7 BlueprintThe operational hierarchy of human design is clearly laid out in Genesis 2:7:
\(\text{Dust\ of\ the\ Ground\ (Body)}+\text{Breath\ of\ Life\ (Pneuma/Ruach)}=\text{A\ Living\ Soul\ (Psuche/Nephesh)}\)
Notice the order of operations: The soul does not create the breath. Rather, the divine breath (Pneuma) strikes the physical matter, and the soul is the result. The soul is the furnace, but the Spirit is the fire. Soul (Psuche) vs. Spirit (Pneuma)
This is precisely why Paul sets up his strict contrast in 1 Corinthians 15:45. He categorizes the capabilities of both:

[th]AttributeSoul's [/th][th])[/th][th]The Spirit (Pneuma / Christ)[/th]
SourceDrawn from earthly creation.Drawn directly from God.
The Soul Draws from earthly creation
Quickened Spirit draws directly from God

This is precisely why Paul sets up his strict contrast in 1 Corinthians 15:45. He categorizes the capabilities of both:
And so it is written: “The first man Adam was made a living soul.” The last Adam was made a quickening Spirit.

Jesus is the last Adam.

Unlike the first Adam, Jesus is BOTH man and God in union.
God is spirit.... That is why Jesus alone is the quickening Spirit.

Christians are not both God and man in union. We are not God.
Being not God, we are not a quickening Spirit.
We are quickened by the Lord who is the quickening Spirit of our soul.
