It seems to me height this is a sensitive topic for men, just as weight or width is a sensitive topic for women. I just wonder why that is.

Is BMI really important?
Are our measurements meant to signify something? What if it fluctuates? We can't add to our height without wearing heels or change our hair colour from black to white without bleaching it. We can wear padding though.

Do we need to be the exact same size, I mean how tall is too tall and how short is too short?
How heavy is too heavy and how thin is too thin?
What about when you get older and you shrink?

When the Bible said there were giants in those days, was it referring to dinosaurs/dragons and other creatures, or was it referring to humans? Because most preserved skeleton fossils of humans seem to indicate they were shorter in the past, and the homes or huts they lived in, had low ceilings and door frames. Are men always supposed to be taller than women? Why don't more women play basketball? Can you play basketball in high heels?

Do taller people jump higher on a trampoline? I mean ...?
What if your centre of gravity is low? Does height just depend on how long your legs are? Because little people all seem to have normal size torsos, just shorter legs.

Ok maybe another thing nobody wants to admit to.

There was a movie called Tall Girl on Netflix where the main character had this dilemma of being taller than her friends at school and thought she could never have a boyfriend because she was too tall for everyone else. ?!
But then she meets another tall boy who is even taller than her, and doesn't feel like such a freak anymore. I don't know if this is based on a true story.

I just wondered if you ARE a giraffe, you'd probably want to mate with another giraffe, but I'm not sure if you need to measure each others necks or anything like that.

you probably know the story about physical attraction in what men look for. it was designed by God. we like looks, yes, beautiful women, although it should never be most important. i say when a woman alters her appearance, she's fake 7 that's a sue sign of trouble. high heels are very bad for posture. there's too much varience in your tall-short ? 99.99% of the time men will not be attracted to overweight women. my wife knows that i absolutely despise largeness. nothing wrong with that. it's a personal preference. there were truly giants back in the day. evidence exists.

Why is that, becuase it means she might be pregnant or something? But what if it's the man's fault she is pregnant? Thats being overweight. So you despise a woman who's carrying your baby?

i said & meant nothing of the kind! my wife can not get pregnant. pregnancy is quite different from being overweight. being overweight can be avoided. a pregnant woman should eat all that is healthy for the baby & her. lanolin, i thought you would catch on here.

mm ok how about underweight.
I know many young girls think being thin is in.

I was constantly told I was too skinny and needed to eat more. Really it wasn't I was deliberately starving myself. I was malnourished because as a baby I did not drink enough milk. I had to have formula. And I was competing for food with my sister and brothers who got first dibs and ate more than me.

So anyway, it is a sensitive topic for a lot of women, and I've had larger 'curvaceous' as they say women constantly ask me how I stayed so thin, when they could have just eaten less right? I mean stupid question?

So its probably the reason why men don't like me...I was too skinny for them.

When my mum was dying and she couldn't eat, she would push her food on to me, asking me to eat it.

When she was really on the brink of death, because the cancer treatment had given her life threatening side effects, she had to have a feeding tube put in. And then she was drinking ensure which is like adult milk formula with all the vitamins and minerals until she reached a healthy weight. After that when she got healthy again she stopped drinking it because she didn't want to get too fat.

I would mix it up for her every morning. There is something about feeding your own mother that is akin to having an adult baby. Anyway...

When you are skinny or gaunt looking that is not attractive either. But there are some completely ridiculous standards for women in the media, especially in the 90s when being a tall, leggy amazonian supermodel was THE thing.

Twiggy never felt attractive, but she was the first skinny model. Usually after childbirth, women gain weight and it's difficult to lose it. Then they become 'unattractive' to their mates, and then their man looks for a new, younger, skinnier gal.

I have been the younger skinner gal. Its not nice to have male attention on your body ALL the time. Especially if they ALREADY have a wife/girlfriend and are looking at you. NO!

Thinking on this
I can't say I've ever despised anyone by their height or their width or their weight. It just doesn't occur to me.

The only thing that really puts me off physically is BO. I cannot be close to anyone who smells bad. And if they are using body sprays that are so overpowering then that's just as bad.

I really would feel, I don't know, ashamed? hurt? if someone said to me 'I despise you because you are overweight'. Or 'I despise you because you are too short'.

You could say 'don't be such a glutton' if the reason the person is overweight is because they can't stop stuffing their faces. But starving oneself isn't the answer. Just have smaller portions.

I'm supposing those who are overweight probably have thicker skin though, so any comments like 'I hate you' may just slide right off. I was talking with someone who shared they were going to have a gastric band put in for an upcoming operation. She said it costs thousands and thousands to do the surgery, but as she was under public health, it was going to be free just she had to be on the waiting list. She told me there are a number of reasons that people become overweight, and some of it is hereditary.

But I guess mostly it's a first world problem.

underweight, no good, proper weight very fine. thin is in, for sure. if you like chocolate3 milk, your mom could have fed you that. exercising is highly important. did you know that people who exercise are happier people? true. too, people who look you in the eye as much as possible when talking automatically pay attention more which also results in a happier person. always eat right & exercise & be natural always too.

I don't think baby formula would have come in chocolate flavours back in the day.
When mum was put on Ensure, it had chocolate, vanilla and strawberry flavours. It also had a huge amount of sugar.

Yes exercise is important. unfortunately the heavy people I know when they exercised were slow and they became puffed easily. Seemed to me a vicious cycle. I think some were on medication which made them gain weight too. but it could be just the baby weight they put on after giving brith. So I think it wasn't all their fault. Some people eat their feelings. One girl said to me when she was sad, she ate a whole tub of icecream.
I would be sick if I did that.

The looking in the eye can actually be rude and intimidating. Depending on the culture, it's wrong to do that.

Mood can depend on several things, but you do get endorphins when you move. Dancing is the best exercise IMHO. Even just tai chi.

I wasn't without cows milk though, definitely had that everyday without fail. My dad still requires it, in NZ, baby boomers have milk at all times even when they are adult. They never got weaned.

In school children were given free milk, but often it would be left to curdle in the sun, and a lot of children hated milk after because of it. They were made to drink it for the calcium.

We never had school lunches then. It was take your own. Nowadays some of them do, because the govt recognised many children went without breakfast and were starving, so they couldn't learn when all they could think about was food. If the parent forgot or didn't pack their lunch, they had to scab off someone else. The only food available to children were chips and sugary drinks they could buy at the tuckshop, but if they had no money...they went hungry. It was shameful.

your lifelong metabolic rate is often set with activity as a kid. lot's of times when people are older, it's difficult to change. looking in the eye, rude? wow, never heard that. weird. certainly, a myriad amount of emotions fit that.

yep..and shaking hands (thanks Covid)

Ever hear of "Little Man Syndrome"?

You know it when you see it in action too.

We REAL men do joke with each other (gently) over our "over compensations."

Such as in big firearms, knife collecting, big personal vehicle truck and many many more ways.

Dumb guys get all wrapped up in their psychosis.. real men do not.

Anyway, as per title, let's talk about height.
Do men not like women who are taller than them? Does our stature say anything about who we are?
Or is it like some kind of domination thing. Idk.

Or maybe its like dogs, smaller dogs are easier to handle, and you can pick them up and cuddle them, they fit into apartments better and if they are on a leash, easier to lead/restrain
