I highly recommend this video that explains how faith is not a good work. It's one of the biggest errors Calvinism a d Calvinist make that they often make. Please watch... Calvinism is dead and false and it just needs to stop.

Also, Dr. Leighton Flowers sotrielogy 101 is probably the best resource on the debunked concept of Calvinism. You should check that too , as it is probably the best anti-Calvinism source

The exodus is real and there are many fine teachers who part of the reason...but Leighton has a humble approach, a former Calvinist and very astute which makes his work top notch.

The faith that could purchase the desired result (salvation), had to be of equal or greater value than that which was purchased.
Faith is not purchasing anything.

Faith, in grace, is BECOMING someone God seeks.
A person being in a relationship with Him!

.......

Ephesians 2:8

Thanks for the vid, however, and probably needless to say, I disagree with it for several reasons. First and foremost, is that
I think scripture tells us that by being dead in sin before becoming saved, that our faith must come from salvation, not salvation from our faith. That being the case, as the verses states, salvation is by grace through faith. So, the faith part wouldn't exist until after becoming saved, making the requirement to have faith to become saved impossible for man to satisfy. The only way for grace and faith both to be present is if both are outside of the one to be saved. Hope I explained that clearly enough.

Not sure what you meant by "purchasing anything". But I disagree that "faith in grace, is BECOMING someone God seeks" that is, if I understood you correctly. Salvation comes first with faith given by God as a result. True faith is manifested by one's belief solely in Jesus Christ as Savior.
In the below verses, the precious faith is given to those whom God saves but it only comes through the righteousness of Jesus Christ. It is given according to His divine power whereby He freely gives to those He whom He saves "all things that pertain to life" - none of them originate from man.

[2Pe 1:1-3 KJV]
1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that [pertain] unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

It is apparent that what people are objecting to is their own made-up definitions instead of what terms actually mean.

While often misunderstood, the doctrine of total depravity is an acknowledgement that the
Bible teaches that as a result of the fall of man (Genesis 3:6) every part of man—his mind, will,
emotions and flesh—have been corrupted by sin. In other words, sin affects all areas of our being
including who we are and what we do. Everything is tainted by sin and “…all our righteous acts are
like filthy rags” before a holy God (Isaiah 64:6). We sin because we are sinners by nature.

Total depravity summarizes what the Bible teaches about the spiritual condition of fallen man.
Because the name “total depravity” can cause people to have wrong ideas about what is meant,
some people prefer to use terms like “total inability,” “righteous incapability,” “radical corruption”
or even “moral inability.” Yet what is important is not the name assigned to the doctrine but how
accurately the doctrine summarizes what the Bible teaches about the spiritual condition of fallen
man. No matter which name you use to refer to “total depravity,” the fact remains that when properly
understood it is an accurate description of what the Bible does teach on this important subject.

The total depravity of man is seen throughout the Bible. Man’s heart is “deceitful and desperately wicked” (Jeremiah 17:9). The Bible also teaches us that man is born dead in transgression and sin (Psalm 51:5, Psalm 58:3, Ephesians 2:1-5). The Bible teaches that because unregenerate man is “dead in transgressions” (Ephesians 2:5), he is held captive by a love for sin (John 3:19; John 8:34) so that he will not seek God (Romans 3:10-11) because he loves the darkness (John 3:19) and does not understand the things of God (1 Corinthians 2:14). Therefore, men suppress the truth of God in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18) and continue to willfully live in sin. Because they are totally depraved, this sinful lifestyle seems right to men (Proverbs 14:12) so they reject the gospel of Christ as foolishness (1 Corinthians 1:18) and their mind is “hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is unable to do so” (Romans 8:7).

The Apostle Paul summarizes the total depravity of man in Romans 3:9-18. He begins this passage by saying that “both Jews and Greeks are all under sin.” Simply put, this means that man is under the control of sin or is controlled by his sin nature (his natural tendency to sin). Then in the rest of this passage Paul quotes extensively from the Old Testament in explaining how sinful man really is. For example, we see that:

1—no one is without sin,

2—no one seeks after God,

3—there is no one who is good,

4—their speech is corrupted by sin,

5—their actions are corrupted by sin, and

6—above all, they have no fear of God (the beginning of wisdom).

So, when one considers even these few verses, it becomes abundantly clear the Bible does indeed teach
that fallen man is “totally depraved,” because sin affects all of him including his mind, will and emotions
so that “there is none who does good, no not one” (Romans 3:12).

a false teacher, James White proved that !
False teachers proving teachers to be false?
Happens all the time.

Why?

Because non-thinkers seek and want something to emote over.
"To emote as a king" sitting on his imagined throne.

It just feels so good!
But only until the curtain is ripped away.
When he finds his wobbly knees shaking before the Lord who demands Truth, and only Truth.

No one is getting away with anything.
It only seems that way while the Lord collects evidence.

Recognizing his own faith is evidence to the saved person that he is saved.

For he discovers he can now believe and comprehend what would have been impossible for him before regeneration took place.

Recognizing our own faith is proof to us that we are saved.

Exactly, the reason why man needs to be given a new heart Ezk 36 26

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

God does this for them Christ Justified by His Blood !

You have no biblical answer. Preaching Jesus Christ takes time and effort describing who He is according to scripture i.e God manifested in the flesh. You have billions of people who say they believe in Jesus Christ but deny His Deity, so do they really believe in the bible Jesus Christ ? NO and I can go on. So this shows me you not serious about who Jesus Christ is according to scripture, and a true witness is concerned about that in light of the many false christ we have been warned of Matt 24 Ponder 2 Cor 11:4

For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

How does any of that alter that Jesus Christ is the Good News?

Either He is and you agree or all you want to do is argue and try and force people to agree with your beliefs.

Calvinism is a theological belief system, it is not the Gospel for it does not have the power unto salvation.

For someone who is intent on proclaiming our salvation is all of God, it is amazing how quickly you want to turn the tables and make our response, or lack of it, a deciding factor in the equation.

As far as I am concerned, you are full of hot air and not worth my time.

Have a nice day.

Calvinism is the Gospel, the devil has deceived people and caused folk to call it something man thought up, but folk gonna still be held accountable for it, because its the Truth of God

How would you witness about the Lord Jesus Christ ? Would you say He is God ? What did He do that was so Special, exactly who did He do it for ? Or you tell people his name is Jesus and died for your sins. Guess what ? Probably 1000 cults believe that historical fact, but they deny His Deity, they deny His efficacious Saving Death. So how would teach Christ ? Give an answer

perhaps you should just not answer when you cant, would be better. why answer " grace and peace " as a dismissal, not cool.
I generally bow out of discussions when another poster leaves biblical arguments and comments on my motives and ascribes falsehoods to me. I do this for several reasons. First, once discussions become personal, they are rarely profitable. Further, because Jesus taught that we are judged as we judge, and because I have no desire to see others receive the judgment of their actions, I'm not inclined to foster further poor discernment.
That this didn't occur to you, and that a biblical farewell is viewed by you as a dismissal speaks to your spiritual discernment or lack thereof.

Does this work for you...may God shine His face upon you and grant you every good and perfect gift?

So now our witness changes who Christ is?

You really don't seem to think very deeply.

I can't help you and I certainly don't want your help.

Built completely on singular verses out of context!

T - eisegesis, no one is born totally depraved or unable to respond positively to the Good News, built on out of context verses, formulated by a man who was filled with self loathing, original sin as taught by the Catholic Church and carried on by various denominations is also not found in the Bible.
U - eisegesis, poor hermeneutics
L - redefinition of words where required to support a borderline heretical tenet
I - needs to be as part of the system to support the T and the U.
P - perserverance of the saints... again built upon a few select verses, allows for reckless fruit inspection by those who believe they have been pre-selected.
