Funny that Paul knew all the Jews had done, their entire past yet he said "For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race". Paul loved the Jewish people, his kin.

And who is this Israel that received the promises, that spread over the Earth, that in number are like the grains of sand, who have blessed the earth and inhabited the desolate places of the Earth? <----- all prophecies concerning Israel... It certainly isnt that tiny country we call Israel, nor is it the number of Jews in the earth, It is talking about Israel that was dispersed into the gentile nations and spread to the ends of the earth, losing their idenity, Its the Anglo-Saxon, Scandinavian, Celtic tribes that destroyed Rome and formed the Nations of the Earth we know today, right up to the ends of the Earth - California etc, because past there we are going East again.
