I am not surprised you call praise and worship "spam." It suits your theology and deceitful nature. That is bizarre. This thread on Calvinism is being hijacked by the dragon and unicorn lady spamming it with her AI music videos.
Again..Faith is a gift but many free willers deny this. They like to believe that they generated something good out of the wickedness of their God hating heart, and in order to do that they deny what Scriptures plainly teach on the fallen nature of man... You know Jesus Christ? Yeah, in His very Own words He said there were none good and that a bad tree cannot produce a good fruit. Is faith a good friut? I am not calling it a work. Scripture calls it a fruit of the Spirit. It is not a fruit of the flesh... the natural man so many of you love to claim is capable of doing what Scripture says he cannot.
Faith is amoral? Wow. I have no idea what you are on about.Again..
Biblically, faith is NOT good. It's amoral. I believe the book of James, Galatians, and John talk about it and Romans.
Romans 3:28: "For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law." [1, 2, 3]
Faith is often contrasted with works. This is bread and butter Christianity. Because faith is not a good work, fallen man can do this. And God asks us to... it's as clear as day light.
Does it say that it is good or evil? It doesn't. It says the work of God. That's a reasonable read.Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.” (Joh 6:29 NRSVue)
Is "the work of God" good or is it evil?
Don’t forget, we are ALL one in Christ. No differentiation. We are ALL heirs of Abraham, IF we are in Christ.
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Galatians 3:28 NKJV
“And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
Galatians 3:29 NKJV
I'll give you two references as to why your position is wrong and unbiblical. You seem to simplify it in a way not intended, but that is a common extreme others fall prey to, whereas what Scripture says in
the words of Jesus Christ Himself is that there are none good and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit. Maybe start from there.
It is apparent that what people are objecting to is their own made-up definitions instead of what terms actually mean.
While often misunderstood, the doctrine of total depravity is an acknowledgement that the
Bible teaches that as a result of the fall of man (Genesis 3:6) every part of man—his mind, will,
emotions and flesh—have been corrupted by sin. In other words, sin affects all areas of our being
including who we are and what we do. Everything is tainted by sin and “…all our righteous acts are
like filthy rags” before a holy God (Isaiah 64:6). We sin because we are sinners by nature.
Total depravity summarizes what the Bible teaches about the spiritual condition of fallen man.
Because the name “total depravity” can cause people to have wrong ideas about what is meant,
some people prefer to use terms like “total inability,” “righteous incapability,” “radical corruption”
or even “moral inability.” Yet what is important is not the name assigned to the doctrine but how
accurately the doctrine summarizes what the Bible teaches about the spiritual condition of fallen
man. No matter which name you use to refer to “total depravity,” the fact remains that when properly
understood it is an accurate description of what the Bible does teach on this important subject.
The total depravity of man is seen throughout the Bible. Man’s heart is “deceitful and desperately wicked” (Jeremiah 17:9). The Bible also teaches us that man is born dead in transgression and sin (Psalm 51:5, Psalm 58:3, Ephesians 2:1-5). The Bible teaches that because unregenerate man is “dead in transgressions” (Ephesians 2:5), he is held captive by a love for sin (John 3:19; John 8:34) so that he will not seek God (Romans 3:10-11) because he loves the darkness (John 3:19) and does not understand the things of God (1 Corinthians 2:14). Therefore, men suppress the truth of God in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18) and continue to willfully live in sin. Because they are totally depraved, this sinful lifestyle seems right to men (Proverbs 14:12) so they reject the gospel of Christ as foolishness (1 Corinthians 1:18) and their mind is “hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is unable to do so” (Romans 8:7).
The Apostle Paul summarizes the total depravity of man in Romans 3:9-18. He begins this passage by saying that “both Jews and Greeks are all under sin.” Simply put, this means that man is under the control of sin or is controlled by his sin nature (his natural tendency to sin). Then in the rest of this passage Paul quotes extensively from the Old Testament in explaining how sinful man really is. For example, we see that:
1—no one is without sin,
2—no one seeks after God,
3—there is no one who is good,
4—their speech is corrupted by sin,
5—their actions are corrupted by sin, and
6—above all, they have no fear of God.
So, when one considers even these few verses, it becomes abundantly clear the Bible does indeed teach
that fallen man is “totally depraved,” because sin affects all of him including his mind, will and emotions
so that “there is none who does good, no not one” (Romans 3:12). source
To me they were born first and everything else proceeds from that. And what is clear is that itI'll give you two references as to why your position is wrong and unbiblical.
Read this very carefully... it must be read carefully. I'll highlight the import parts. This scripture shows the entirety of a free will position.. while giving God the glory as well. So the words "to become" are the key. These believers were NOT born again. The believers who received God... they were given the right to BECOME children of God. If Calvinism were true, it should read... the children of God believed and received. Actually, almost always scripture shows this order... but to me this is the clearest detection of it. You can see it frame by frame.
Then I highlighted the "who were born" because this is a new event. The belief in God was being done by NON-children of God... who were given the right to BECOME children of God. They are NOT yet children of God but they have it in the bag.
Now verse 13, these non children of God, are born. God decided to give Sprayer birth to those who did receive and believed. This is the will of God, not of flesh, nor the will of man, but of God... the will of God is to give Spiritual birth to as many as received him.
This is common sense Christianity. Seeing this otherwise, you'd have to be indoctrinated into Calvinism to hyper focus on the verse 13 and say God did it all. Faith is something God calls and draws us to do. This is biblical and not all that are called will come... that is also bible as well.
John 1:12-13
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the [a]right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Okay, I'm going to leave you with a video of Dr. Flowers for rhe second point. Why did Jesus use parables... on the spiritual dead???
Calvinism is not necessary
Although we cannot be saved without Christ, neither can we be saved without choosing Christ. We have no choice in obtaining regeneration/new birth, that is God given, but we do choose in the area of conversion. We (not Christ) must do the repenting and the believing. To me they were born first and everything else proceeds from that. And what is clear is that it
is born of God's will, not man's... and this is plainly stated, but free willers reject that outright.
Those given to Christ come to Him, no ifs or maybes are in the text. One free willer said they wereAlthough we cannot be saved without Christ, neither can we be saved without choosing Christ.
We have no choice in obtaining regeneration/new birth, that is God given, but we do choose in
the area of conversion. We (not Christ) must do the repenting and the believing.
That's not entirely true.Just about every cult in the world believes those historical facts, and they cant tell you who Jesus Christ
Calvinism is the Gospel ! You are being shown !what you're missing in all this is the fact that any other theology and it's adherent could write this exact same thing by substituting their theology name in exchange "Calvinism" youre no different than anybody else.
Yes it is. If you think by merely reciting the historical facts , of the DBR of Christ without substance from scripture, that you preached the Gospel, you are sadly mistaken Jehovah witnesses believe those bare facts, is that a Christ honoring group that honors the Person of Jesus Christ ?That's not entirely true.
