So are gays/lesbians nonelects? How do people become gays/lesbians?

Whether it's homosexuality or any other sin, God gave them up because they gave Him up first. They were so insistent that they go their own way that God basically said "Okay, have at it". God gave them what they wanted.

However, that doesn't mean that someone involved in such sins cannot repent and come back to God. (Ezekiel 18, Luke 15)
This is true and it’s the same for adulterers, and those who turn away from God to follow their own lusts.

What if they were abused as children and need healing and deliverance. I don’t see everyone judging adulterers, porn-watchers etc. but there will be even more of them than homosexuals and they may not have as valid a reason for their sin. Let us be wise to those outside of the faith and stop judging people. We can judge what is a right or wrong act, according to the Word of God, but remember He loved us that much He died for us whilst we were yet sinners. Many people repent of homosexuality and get set free from it. Don’t put a stumbling block in their way, God loves them too. He wants them to come to Him and receive His love, kindness and forgiveness. There is much rejoicing in Heaven over 1 precious sinner who repents. Let him who is without sin cast the first stone. All sin is terrible and destructive but let us have some wisdom here. These souls are people’s children and they matter to God a lot, and He has answers for them and understanding and love and power to overcome, for His purposes and glory in their lives.

AMEN!

That's right !
I visited a church and shared a letter to thank a member for something. Anyhow, it featured Noah's Ark with a bunch of animals and a rainbow in the letterhead. The guy rebuked me and said it looked queer and represented the sodomites. I asked him if he ever read the Bible? You don't have to read far before you see what that represents. I used it as a teaching moment, but it wasn't well received. Others in the church were like that too including the pastor. He finally admitted that he taught works salvation, so I was talking to a bunch of church going heathens who wouldn't understand basics.
Moral of the story I learned that we should never let heathens direct our decisions. We belong to the Lord and should still look at His bow in the sky as His gracious promise to never destroy the world by water again.
Guess a little leaven actually works, by leavening the whole lump (ie. they allowed heathens to take charge of the church, and it just kept getting worse).

True! It’s good that they come to repent, and it’s only the Lord who can forgive and cleanse them. Hopefully they will bury the old man and leave it.

Not all churches encourage repentance, to their detriment. IK of churches who welcome sinners of all kinds but don’t teach them to repent of their evil ways, it would seem they’re the doorway to hell.

There is no such thing as a non-elect. The Bible says it is not God’s will that any should perish. Jesus says,”Whosoever will, let him come.” God gives us our own will hoping we will choose Him, otherwise it would make a mockery of God and life if we were all pre-programmed to choose Him. He chose each one of us but we also have a choice to trust Him or reject Him.
He calls many, not all, but many, but FEW are chosen.

The pastor was an unbeliever as were all of his fruit.
I was aquatinted with him through his radio broadcast on news and current events. He was superficial on doctrine, so I assumed he was orthodox evangelical. It turned out that he was a strange mix of 7th Day Adventist sect, Hebrew Roots and someone who gloried in his ignorance. I wasted too much gas money driving there.

Romans 1 probably gives the most succint explanation as to why people choose sin and evil and how God reflects on those activities.
Hmmm. You didn’t choose sin before hearing the Gospel, believing, receiving, and becoming born again?

I was 5 but I understood the concept of misbehavior or not obeying your parents. And we all know, yeah you too, that we still sin after salvation...you know, the war with the flesh and all that.

I didn't write Romans 1, but it directly describes the sin of homosexuality and how God gives people over to that so I really don't know what point you think you are making 🫤

Just a strange response IMO

Too many mixes! Lol

For sure! Lol

I honestly don’t know much about the different factions, or what makes them different. All I know is that they follow a different gospel, other than what we see in Scripture.

You said people choose sin and evil. Is homosexuality the only evil sin?
Further you said Romans 1 gives the reason people choose sin.

Presumably you are referring to “suppress the truth in unrighteousness,”

So I’m asking why YOU didn’t suppress the truth, and they did?

I'm sorry? Where did I say people choose sin? You responded to a post I made way back so I don't know what you are trying to say?

But do show me where I said people choose sin since you seem to have targeted that. I would like to see that and respond because I do not usually make those kinds of statements

Rude much? So I never actually said people choose sin. You made that up. I simply referred to scripture ok GUY?

It was almost a month ago.

Do you disagree with Romans 1? I didn't write it so what is your problem with me posting it? Nothing has changed and my response is still the same.

You're definately trying to grab something to argue but choosing scripture to disagree with, is not the best idea. I think whatever is bothering you, is bothering YOU. Not responding further so whatever.

Ehhh, probably from time to time, not as much as the next guy, but some people have very thin skins.
Do you disagree with Romans 1
nope.

The question is in the context of the thread.

Why did YOU not suppress the Truth, yet others did and do?

Not sure why you won’t say.

It’s like you’re trying to say it’s ok that they’re sinning this way, just because of their past. Is this right?
Do you believe that is what Paul was saying? I sure as heck don't.

The meaning is plain to me, but seemingly not to you.

Perhaps simply read with more care? Not sure what to suggest.

That's right! In Judges, the tribe of Benjamin defended the wicked criminals who killed that poor woman and threatened to harm the men. As strange as the story is, because there's really no clear hero or righteous people, but there's a modern application.

I have been surprised to see a movement in some Evangelical and Baptist churches to become sinfully inclusive to the point of defending the recruitment of sodomites in leadership positions. For some reason they end up in young children's ministries as that preacher explained when criticizing the Johnny Nixon book previously.

It's shocking to see some churches that now act like the tribe of Benjamin who defend the sodomites that are a danger to their own church members.
We see what eventually happened to the Benjamites.
The same seems to be happening to formerly decent churches.
A little leaven (sin) leaven’s the whole lump…. Soon, the whole church will be infected and sick.

It sounded like you were stating that. This is not what Scripture states, for sure.
