All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3 v 23). There is no one who does not sin (from 1 Kings 8 v 46). No one living is righteous before You (from Psalm 143 v 2). If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us (1 John 1 v 8). Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.” (John 8 v 34) And this is the verdict: The Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness rather than the Light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed (John 3 v 19-20). The heart is incurably wicked (Jeremiah 17 v 9). What is evil? Sin is evil. Stop sugar coating it. All men sin, and commit evil in the sight of God. There are none good, no, not one! A bad tree cannot bring forth good fruit.

I know. You are a true saint. :)

Have you heard of that idea before, of being saved, but not being joined with Christ?
I've seen it out there and addressed it before. It's a complicated argument and, unfortunately, it's hard enough to address simple arguments with far too many.

That's not exactly what those verses mean. John is simply answering the question is he the Messiah. His answer is no. Like a bridegroom, his job is to point to someone more important than himself. That's the context. He wasn't explaining the difference between being saved under the old and the new.
Too bad you do not yet know how an ancient Jewish wedding took place.

Another excellent job by you.
I am so glad you are pleased with it. I am too :D All glory to God!

Both of your poems made excellent songs...

Heh that kinda sorta makes it sound like you only wrote two LOL

I did generate for the Christmas poem and may post it later... as in, later this year...

Literally nowhere does it say that God regenerated first, and then faith comes.

Where does it say... regeneration happened, then faith in Christ happened afterwards?

Yup ... in order for this total inability to work within the system an additional tenet was required, "regeneration had to proceed faith" ... so then they went mining for verses where it could be read into the text.

I certainly agree that family lineage will not get anybody to heaven. I don't agree that Romans doesn't teach the Doctrines of Grace. Romans 8 says:

(Rom 8:28 NKJV) And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
(Rom 8:29) For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.

God foreknew, God predestined.

Do you think maybe you could maybe actually look at a verse within its larger context?

Faith to believe in Jesus is way easier than the faith to follow Jesus daily. Most of his lost followers once had faith to. Faith is not an intellectual construct. It is a real life construct. We do not want or need life changing faith, we have only a comfortable theology that frees us from the requirement to change. We are told that Jesus loves us "just the way we are." Jesus does all the work while we sit in a church for a few hrs a month or not at all, but we get heaven no matter what. Welcome to 21st Century non-Catholic Christianity of comfort, wealth, prosperity and blessings all guaranteed by our head nod to a 60 second pulpit prayer sometime ago on a date that we can't quite remember. But we got saved so we are good.

The distortion of the Gospel is not about the definition of works but our self-serving definition of "Faith." We believe in Jesus like we believe in America. They are equal parts hope and belief in something good. You know, something we all need.
I have no idea how this post relates to anything I said.

I won’t use word salad, because it kinda sounds ok. Just not in this thread.

Something has to precede faith because the gospel message is heard as foolishness otherwise,
but to a FWer this is itself foolishness, but then they say such things as God/divine intervention
is not required at all for a person to come to believe, and that is a ridiculous thing to say in light
of Biblical Truth... inability is definitely expressed in the Bible regardless of how many times
this fact is lied about by certain FWers who distort the Truth of God's revealed written Word.

John14-17a-Romans8-6-9.png

John 14 v 17a, Romans 8 v 6-9 ~ “Inability” in Bible. The world cannot receive the Spirit of truth. The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are controlled not by the flesh, but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. Praise be to God for calling me out of the world.

Some might say, well, hearing precedes faith, though not everyone hears, but this again is a Biblical
truth denied by FWers. They act as if hearing is simply a matter of your ears registering vibrational

frequencies and completely overlook the very salient fact that comprehension has to be included
in hearing, or someone may as well be speaking a foreign language: what is said is heard as gibberish,
and it is worse with the natural man, they hear the words and mark up what is said as being foolishness.
This is due to the condition of their heart, again rejected, contradicted and denied by FWers. The
natural man cannot change his stony heart, it needs to be circumcised. With the heart one believes.
The parable of the soils makes plain stony ground is not an environment conducive to growth.

Go back to sleep.....

Right, and that's my point. But I'm asking particular people particular questions based on discussions we are engaged in. If you follow along, you might learn something.
I have learned enough about the ways of false teachers.

After the novelty wears off you become boring.
And, I do mean boring.

You are only hurting yourself.

Go find some baby Christians to use your act on.

You are boring to me.
