It is the contention of FWers that the person -as a natural man, that is, one of the flesh within which no good thing dwells- who can neither understand nor accept the things of God, being opposed to the Spiritual things of God, being blinded by the god of this world, captive to the will of the devil, a slave to sin and lover of darkness, suppressing the truth in unrighteousness and hostile in his mind to the One True God of the Bible, refusing to come into the Light, will choose of his own volition to believe God and the foolishness of the gospel despite being incapable of obeying. To do this they deny his condition, deny his inability, deny even that God is necessary in the process.

John 3 verses 19-20 and from Psalm 10 verse 4 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of Light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. The wicked reviles the Lord

The flesh. Not the soul.

If the Holy Spirit can isolate the effects of the flesh?
What could the human soul do?

Don't you know you have flesh now?
It is the power of God that keeps your flesh from controlling you.

If God can do that for the believer?
He can also do that for the unbeliever's flesh when God wants to make something in regard to God known.

I am not praying for the world, but for those You have given me, for they are Yours. John 17 v 9 I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD. They will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with all their heart. Jeremiah 24 v 7

You are conflating the baptism WITH the Spirit and the baptism OF the Spirit. The first is what Ephesians 1:13 is concerned with. It is the promise of the Father that John the Baptist referred to in Matthew 3:11, and Jesus in Acts 1:4-5 referred to. The promise of the Father was a baptism WITH the Spirit that imparted power and sealed individuals. The manifestations that accompanied it were all outward and known to all.
The baptism of the Spirit is an inward work of the Spirit that places an individual into the body of Christ. This is what 1 Corinthians 12:13 teaches.

Do you believe the 11 Apostles were saved on the day of Pentecost?
I looked through all those verses and they all seem to be about regeneration. It sounds like you are saying there's a baptism that is holy spirit based but not regeneration. What makes you think that?

1 Ephesians 1:1
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus:

The context of the chapter is that this is for the saints, for the believers in Christ.

And

Ephesians 1:13
13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

This verse is about the gospel of salvation. I'd say the context means this baptism is of regeneration. So...

Step 1: Heard, trusted, believed

Step 2. Sealed with Holy Spirit

Faith first, then regeneration.

Included in that gift is the exercise of God's power towards/for/in the recipient of grace?
Gods Grace was given before the foundations of the earth were laid
1pet :1:19-

19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. 20 He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was Revelation manifest in these last times for you.

Rev 8:13

God grace is the work of the cross for all. God doesn't want any to parish yet there will be those who are not saved. In fact over the time man has been on the earth it is safe to say there are many who were not before they died. However That is only unto GOD who knows not us. Our focus is not on the Elect. The Church is not to boast in election. But in humility and obedience. Gods power is to all. and for all and His grace has been provided for all. Yet there are those who will not be saved.

I hope I answered your question.

That is an incomplete thought?
Sorry... I do not know why you said that.
excuse me . I hate my pc and my fat fingers. The word of God which is the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God for salvation. Paul said in Romans 13:8
Also if God fully knows who will be saved, do we still consider the ministry of reconciliation( 2cor 5:11-21) as something to do.

Do you think maybe you could maybe actually look at a verse within its larger context?
Not sure how much context you are thinking of, but in the earlier part of Romans 8, Pau has been talking about the things that the law could not do, comparing "walking according to the flesh" to "walking according to the Spirit." He goes on to talk of the absolute necessity of the Holy Spirit in a Christian, the fact that those "in Christ" are sons of God and heirs together with Christ, suffering in this word, and the glories of heaven. As for the more immediate context of the two verses I quoted, here they are with the surrounding verses:

(Rom 8:26 NKJV) Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
(Rom 8:27) Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
(Rom 8:28) And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
(Rom 8:29) For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
(Rom 8:30) Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

Why is anyone looking for someone who has been dead for hundreds of years? LOL.

So stupid. But these FWers love their lies. Calvin did not murder anyone. He did not hold
judicial authority in Geneva and was not even a citizen at the time of the initial arrest.
The sentence of burning at the stake was decreed by the city's magistrate council.

Man’s heart is deceitful above a
I agree. Besides, are the people who point to John Calvin's supposed misdeeds claiming that nobody with Arminian or Free Will beliefs has ever been guilty of similar things to those of which they accuse Calvin?

Here we have an example of juxtaposition without harmonization and omission of John 3:16.

that one can be a recipient implies that there is a donor but a rejector dismisses the donor to merely an offeror of unwanted attention.
Sure, but when one rejects God, has any power been exercised towards them. The gospel is the power of God for those who believe...Romans 1:16. This is not said to be so for those who do not believe.

Two individuals attend a service and audibly hear the same message. One responds in repentance and obedience. The other remains dead in trespass and sin. What occurred? Are the results due to the individuals themselves, or did God exercise grace towards one and not the other?

Sealing and indwelling are 2 different things. Seals go on the outside. Indwelling is on the inside. The latter is regeneration. The former is an authentication of the indwelling with outward manifestations.

You did not. It's a simple yes or no. Does God's grace include a manifestation of His power in/to/through an individual?

It happens often. What you are not taking into account is the backstory of each individual. Maybe the one who received the gospel had circumstances in his life that brought him to that conclusion. The other who rejected it, might receive it at some point, but for now, he's not willing to put aside self. I bet I heard the gospel a hundred times before I received it into my life. Hard ground takes time to loosen. Your view is placing everyone on the same playing surface. That's not a good place to draw an opinion, imo.

Not good bible to combine those two verses to make a point. Jesus was praying specifically for his disciples, that much is clear. Jeremiah is referencing Israel at the time of the return of Jesus as King of kings when he establishes his earthly kingdom in Jerusalem.

Sure. People are at different places. The Prodigal Son himself was at different places leaving and returning home. But who orchestrated the events of his life: him or God? Did he arrange a famine?

God fulfills His will within the choices of men. God is much greater than He is ever given credit for.

And this wasn't actually my question. My question was: were the results due to the activity or inactivity of the individuals, or the exercise of power or lack thereof by God?

You seem to believe the first. I believe the second.

Not good the way you deny what is written in the Bible.
