How can someone hear the word of truth while they dead in sin and spiritually deaf ? Jesus tells us who it is that hears the word of God Jn 8:47

Well, here is a quandry.

Adam and Eve had no sin when they were created. God walked with them in garden in the cool of the evening. Yet, Eve was deceived by the charming words that changed what God really said, into 'did God really say that'

Now Adam on the other hand, did sin, so where did that come from? He was sinless but MADE THE CHOICE to disobey.

Total depravity? I don't think so.

You know, you can see right there in that brief engagment in the garden, that we do have the abilitiy to choose and we can also be deceived. Denying the choice made by Adam would be the choice to continue to believe a system created by deceived men.

Perhaps if some people would exercise their brains with the ability to choose, they might see that, but that would mean either a splitting headache or the dogged afirmation of doctrine that is obviously in error.

In the end, when probed far into the doctrine of Calvin, the usual answer becomes 'because I said so'.

We are not to judge (condemn).
But, we are as God's children to discern when someone is off in their behavior.
Discernment of what is bad is not to be the same thing as condemnation.

One would have thought King Saul was doomed to Hell for seeking out the witch of Endor.
And, what about David?
He committed adultery and had her husband killed in battle.

The Lord said that David was a man after His own heart! Acts 13:22.

We are not to judge (condemn).
But, we are as God's children to discern when someone is off in their behavior.

No, but one cant spiritually hear and understand the Truth until they have been regenerated. John Gill writes of Eph 1:13

I have been posting Scripture all along, which does not teach free will. Read more of Romans
plus all I have posted. None of it supports the fantasy of the free will of the natural man.

I thank and glorify God for setting me free. I know Who my Savior is.

We are well aware that you avoid Scripture teaching free will like the plague, which is why I encourage you to read them and create panels that harmonize them with your favs.

So He failed because of that ? The Saviour who came to save rebellious sinners wasn't able to succeed because some of the sinners sinned too much and wouldn't let Him.

You are the one calling Jesus a failure, due to many people rejecting Him.

The failure, like I said, was on the part of those who rejected Him, because they loved darkness more than light.

When the Calvinist/TULIPist can read something into a verse which is simply not there, I just wonder if they can even see contradictions.

I mean they actually believe "regeneration precedes faith" and do not have one clear verse that states it.

That is a level of indoctrination which defies understanding.

There are a good number of churches that espouse Calvinism from their pulpits.
I attended one once and was shocked and disappointed to see how incompetent the pastor was.
Yet, he spoke boldly.... And what I saw of the fruit of his congregation had me wanting to never go back.

Yeah. The one hearing the Gospel of their salvation is saved while hearing. or they cant hear. I showed you who Jesus said hears His voice of truth Jn 18:37

You must be of the truth to hear the word of truth !
