This is something that happened to me back when I was about 18–19 years old and it still makes me cringe a little (okay and laugh) when I think about it.

It was a winter evening, snowy and cold and I had evening classes. My older brother had promised to pick me up afterward. I stepped outside after class, tired, hungry and slightly irritated already and noticed he was late. Not a great combination for my mood.

After a while, I spotted a dark Volkswagen Passat by the roadside and thought, “Finally.” I walked straight up, opened the back door, threw my backpack inside and immediately started venting without pause, how hungry I was, how tired I was and how we really needed to leave right now.

I got into the front seat, kept going for a moment and finished with something like, “Let’s go already so we can get out of here.”

Then I heard a chuckle from beside me… which was not my brother’s voice.

Silence.

It took about half a second for my brain to fully process that I had just stormed into a complete stranger’s car and started giving them a lecture.

I froze like a deer in headlights, then basically launched myself out of the car.

At the same time, my brother called out from the car right next to it saying he was there.

As if that wasn’t enough, the actual driver of the Passat leaned out and said loudly that I had left my backpack on his back seat.

Of course I had.

I went back, retrieved it, muttered an apology and finally got into my brother’s car, who had, of course, witnessed the whole thing and was already laughing.

All I could say was: “We are never talking about this again.”

And to this day… we mostly don’t. 😅 😂
Yep, done something similar. I was a sales rep and I'd bought a new white Ford. I was parked, went back to the car, pressed unlock, threw my briefcase in the back, pressed lock and went off to buy some lunch. When I got back, the owner of the car was laughing at me. I'd been so quick that he did not get a chance to call me back. My own car was parked right next to his. The only difference was the number plate.

😂 I'm glad I'm not the only one! There must be something about identical cars that makes our brains go on autopilot. Thanks for sharing, that gave me a good laugh.

a parishioner had dozed off to sleep during the morning service. the preacher asked: "will all who want to go to heaven, stand"? all stood except the sleeping parishioner. after they sat down, the pastor continued" "will all who want to go to the other place, stand"? somebody suddenly dropped a songbook & the sleeping man suddenly jumped to his feet & stood sheepishly facing the preacher. he mumbled confusedly, "well, preacher, i don't know what we're voting for but it looks like you & i are the only ones for it."

My mom had a gold colored mini van. One Saturday morning we picked up my aunt and cousin for a day of yard sale shopping. My mom parked next to another van of similar color. My cousin and I stayed in moms van while our moms got out to browse. After a pleasant shopping experience, my aunt started walking back to the van with a big smile and a look that said she didn't have a care in the world (okay, she was basically in la-la land).
My cousin and I watched wide eyed and gasping, trying not to laugh as the older women (near aunties age) who were in the other van, went wide eyed, with looks of fear/concern, and you could see they were fumbling around for the locks.
My aunt, being in la-la-land, saw the gold colored van in the area where we had parked and just assumed it was ours.
She was trying to get into the other van  and when it wasn't working she finally said "Now girls, unlock the doors".
The other women still looked terrified while my cousin and I just lost it.
Finally my cousin pulled open the van side door and said "Um Mom? That's the wrong van.":ROFL::ROFL:
The poor older dears in the other van finally looked relived, but they weren't laughing.
Oh the look on dear Aunties face when she put 2 and 2 together and finally realized her mistake.:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

I deal with a stressful person everyday at my house and I really hope you guys can share some funny stuff please? Thanks
Aging wife comes to husband, quite upset. She says that she feels terrible. She looked in the mirror and saw someone old, wrinkly and overweight. So she asks her husband for encouragement, to make her feel better. He looks up and says, "Well, your eyesight is perfect...."
