Paul did not remain being a slave to sin.

When Paul spoke of being a slave to sin?
He was speaking in a retrospective state of mind.
Paul was pointing back to a time in his life that he spoke of .

My pastor showed us this factor from how the Greek was structured.

(I just AI searched what I said.)

This is what it said.
Yes, when Paul spoke of being a "slave to sin," he was often looking back at his past.
He explained how, before knowing Christ, people do not control what they do.
Sin acts like a strict boss, and the person is the slave who must obey.
Grace and peace.....
Romans 7:21-23 Paul wasn't a slave of sin per se. But he realized that his sin nature ran so deep and profound that he needed to be saved.

I'm the latest new arrival, by the way.
Hi all.

Welcome!
:)

All this is confusing. See Christ came too seek and to save that which was lost Per Lk 19:10 My question is did He seek and save 100% of them He came to seek and to save ? Yes or no I dont want to hear about no priest, and Incinerators.
Paul quotes Joel when he reminds his readers, "all those who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Ever wonder what Joel was talking about?

I think it unfortunate that the name of John Calvin can be applied so to
disparage what is the Gospel and all of its God ordained salient points.
They have zero verses articulating free will so some rely heavily on logical fallacies, ad homs being
used the most, and they lie about Calvin hoping to make their smear campaign ever more effective.

So then are you saying all of 100% of whom it was promised in Matt 1:21 to save His people from their sins wont be saved ? Yes or No
100% will be saved, they will be the remnant at the time of Jacob's trouble who endure to the end.

Yes....

But what should one do after they are saved?
Keep talking about how to get saved over, and over, and over again?

How does one grow up and mature in Christ?

But no one is saved by unconditional election/specially chosen / regenerated before faith or given a special gift others do not get/ so that kinda is a problem don't you think?

It seems the Arminian ideology of Conditional Election affords the same supposition on God's part as does Unconditional Election.

God predestined whom he will Save. Others are destined to live and die in their Sins.

The Arminians difference is,they believe they can elect to refuse Salvation when God predestined them to be called into it.

While Calvinists think to themselves, who could possibly hear God's invitation into His grace and willingly choose to say,no thanks, I prefer Hell.

That's truly sad.
Yes it is. The other day I was called a degenerate for believing the Bible and then told that quoting
the Bible is false teaching. Some of these folks are so attached to their un-Biblical opinions that they
would rather rewrite the very words of Jesus Christ Himself and blaspheme God than ever admit they
were wrong while they regularly contradict and outright deny what is explicitly written in Scripture.

I think while that is highly absurd, it may sting less to remember those dead in their Sin and deaf to the voice of God could react no other way.
It's a flaw in fallen human nature.

Can they do anything else but that? Remember 1 Corinthians 2:14?

Seems you are well versed in "the system"... many of us here follow the true Gospel of Christ Jesus who offers the free gift of salvation to whomsoever will believe in/trust in Him for it!!

The truth does not rely on "systems".. it relies on the full counsel of God as opposed to isolated verses out of context.

Hi all.

Hi there new member

Why do you think Calvins' name being applied is unfortunate when the name of this thread is

Calvinism is Gospel !

This thead was begun by the op with the intention of focusing on Calvinsim so, you will find him. the doctrine, as the focus and mentionned many many times. What point are you trying to make?

Perhaps it would be more appropriate if we referred the ideas of tulip as calvinisticism or would it better if we softened the language of the subject by saying, 'calvinistically speaking," or maybe use the acronym CNC, Calvinist Not Calvinist. I mean, I'm all for making the necessary accommodations. But I do have to say that I like Gene's idea of "tulipinist."

Jesus said all who sin are slaves to sin.

You need to be more careful.
The Greek would indicate all who habitually sin are slaves to sin.
Not merely, those who sin.

Got that from my pastor who taught directly from the Greek showing it means habitual.

And, after checking with Google A.I. ?
I got the following.

AI Overview

You nailed it. In passages like John 8:34, the Greek uses the present active participle
which literally translates to "everyone who keeps on doing sin."
This phrasing emphasizes a continuous, habitual lifestyle of sinning rather than
occasional stumbles, marking the person as a spiritual slave to sin. [1, 2]

Would someone please fill me in on who called Magenta a degenerate? She states someone called her a degenerate
and I am wondering who that was. So please let me know?

In the meantime, perhaps we could ask Miss Magenta why she calls those who have a different understanding of the gospel then does she liar, blasphemer,

Post 1965
When they start blaspheming God it can get quite disgusting.

They also lie about Calvin but what else can we expect from liars?
The above is a small taste of how she posts much of the time to people who are believers but do not believe in take on the gospel is correct. According to her we are blasphemers and lie about Calvin.

And here addressing another member. Mealy mouth and non-Calvinists spout garbage according to her Post 2003
Cannot stand the garbage free willers spout? Cannot say I blame you. Your mealy mouth does not serve you.
