Through Christ, the true seed, the only seed.
yes - they receive the promises through Christ

Romans 9:3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;
5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

The miserable Calvinist must get some kind of a thrill from thinking God randomly selected them, while almost everyone else is going to hell, and they do not have to exert effort to lead anyone to salvation, because it’s all predetermined.

They like to find ways to make this more palatable, soften the edges, but in the end no matter how they word it, regeneration

preceding faith and unconditional election are not found in scripture, a hurdle they can never get over, but they do try.

from Ephesians 4 verses 17-19 ~ Gentiles walk in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardness of their hearts. Having lost all sense of shame, they have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity, with a craving for more.

20 But that is not the way you learned Christ!— 21 assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, 22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

25 Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. 26 Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and give no opportunity to the devil. 28 Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need. 29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

tares and agents of darkness seeing they deny the plain reading of scripture
You called my Biblical references perverted with no proof or even saying which ones of
the very many plain reading of Scripture I gave which is typical of your dishonest type.

By your own words you admit to being a tare, an agent of darkness.

Sadly the "god" you follow claims he decided only a few people were created to be saved and he created all the rest for no other reason than to be fuel for the fires of hell.

Scripture very clearly refutes this but those following John Calvin as their lord and savior refuse accept what the Lord says because the spirit leading them have taught them to reject what God says which is how the devil tricked Adam and Eve in the garden of eden.

Only the Doctrine of Christ is Truth.

The doctrine of John Calvin is doctrines of demons which we can easily see since it opposes things the Lord teaches in His Word.

It's really sad about those following the doctrines of that false teacher John Calvin. Too bad.
Neither Calvin, nor those of us who believe the Doctrines of Grace, to which Calvin's name has been applied, say that only a few are saved. This is perhaps one of the disadvantages of the "TULIP" acronym, because "Limited Redemption" can give the idea of fewness. (Of course the acronym wasn't Calvin's; I understand it was devised in the early 20th century.) I much prefer the term "Particular Redemption", because it avoids the idea of fewness, and reflects biblical teaching, as for example in this verse:

(Joh 6:37 NKJV) All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.

We fully believe the following verse:

(Rev 7:9) After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands,

So please don't say that I believe that only a few people were created to be saved. And if ever I misrepresent what you believe, I hope you would (politely) point it out.

Misrepresentation is their game.

Answered many times by whom to who? Why say such things? It tells me nothing.

So you also conflate a carnal Christian with the natural man? That is wrong also.

You do not know who the natural man is, I take it. He is the one WITHOUT Christ.

He does not belong to Christ. He is of the world which cannot receive the Spirit of Truth.

Scripture says so. I don't think FWers can deal with these Biblical Truths.

They blow their philosophical construct out of the water.
I agree the world cannot receive the spirit of truth. But that is why Peter says to save yourselves from this untoward generation. Repent and believe. That is when you are no longer of the world.

Jesus says you won't come to me so that you won't have life. So how can someone have life before coming to Christ? That is what would be required if regeneration precedes faith

Paul taught in his Gospel that Election is the basis for Salvation, Eph 1:3-6,13

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

This was part of his Gospel of Grace, these things they heard before they trusted and believed, things like election and predestination, acceptance in the beloved. 9

Grace~~~Equal opportunity and equal privilege for ALL. His Gospel.

Calvie/reformed theory~~~I am special. You may or may not be. Good luck to some!

The serpent on the pole didn't need to be looked at. God was just covering His bases so He couldn't be blamed....According to the calvies.
I would be here all day typing up a storm if I were to correct all the misunderstandings or willful misrepresentations and strawmen of what is called 'reformed theology'..

The doctrines of grace do not teach that the serpent on the pole didn't need to be looked at or that the Gospel isn't to be obeyed. The difference is that one side believes man can muster up that faith by himself and the other side believes faith is granted/given by God because man is in a state of spiritual death. One side believes man can escape this spiritual death by believing and the other side believes man cannot do anything unless it is given to him by God

The gospel is what it is.

There is nothing wrong with all the other things you have said, but they are the results of God reconciling an individual to Himself. They are separate from the message of gospel.
Wouldn't you say that the gospel includes that we are justified by faith, and saved by grace through faith? I'm sure you would. Didn't James say that a faith without works is dead? What would it mean if I make a claim to faith but don't do anything in accordance to faith? Surely, Paul wasn't suggesting that a mere claim to faith is enough? Did he?

Jews as individuals Romans 11:1-10
In the first half of Romans 11, Paul addresses the question of the Jewish people. We know this because he uses the term "people, he speaks of himself as an individual, and he mentions his tribe. He will also argue that God always reserves a remnant of his people who don't practice idolatry.

No, he has only the elect in view regarding salvation, not the nation - the remnant is only of those by the election of grace - not the non-elect of the earthly nation of Israel. Paul, in those verses, is not speaking about Jews in general who do not practice idolatry; he is speaking only about the elect - ONLY those whom God FOREKNEW - THE ELECT, not everyone. The only verse where idolatry is even mentioned at all is vs 4, and that in relation to the elect, that they didn't bow down to the image of baal, but nothing beyond that of any other Jews not worshipping idols. Other than that, there is no further mention made of idolatry. So, by that, you are adding to those verses your own assumption - something that wasn't said, and therefore, shouldn't be used as a basis for understanding. The only correct basis for understanding is that certain Jews were of the elect.

[Rom 11:1-7 KJV]
1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, [of] the tribe of Benjamin.
2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,
3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to [the image of] Baal.
5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
6 And if by grace, then [is it] no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if [it be] of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded

In vs 11:7-11, Paul declares Israel has NOT found what it is seeking, but that only the election has obtained it. Further, that God has purposefully given to them a "spirit of slumber" (vs 8), and that their "eyes be darkened" so that they may "not see" (vs 10).

[Rom 11:7-10
7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:
10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.

In the middle of Romans 11, Paul addresses his nation, Israel, not to say that God created another, spiritual Israel, but to argue that although the nation of Israel put the Messiah to death, they did not stumble so as to fall. His analogy is based on a common hazard in his time: rocks sticking up above the road that caused people to trip and fall. Did his nation trip and fall? Did God reject his nation because they went too far? Paul argues no. What they did to Jesus turned out to be riches for the world -- forgiveness of sins etc.

You are correct regarding the nation's rejection of Jesus which led to riches for the Gentiles. But in verse 14, Paul did not say he was speaking of the whole nation, but only of "some of them" that he might save, so the nation is NOT in view.
The "they" of Rom 11:11, are the "them" of Rom 11:14 - they elect who also happen to be Jews.
The "them" of vs 14 is the "them" of vs15
The "firstfruit" of vs 16 represents Abraham and the spiritual patriarchs, not Jews based upon physical lineage

[Rom 11:11-16 KJV]
11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but [rather] through their fall salvation [is come] unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Now if the fall of them [be] the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation [them which are] my flesh, and might save some of them.
15 For if the casting away of them [be] the reconciling of the world, what [shall] the receiving [of them be], but life from the dead?
16 For if the firstfruit [be] holy, the lump [is] also [holy]: and if the root [be] holy, so [are] the branches.

[Rom 11:17-20 KJV]
17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;
18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

This is what I don't get. Why do you ask me about verses that you can read yourself? Perhaps you can sense a bit of frustration in my writing, but I study with a group of men, and whenever one of us mentions a passage, we all know what is being said there even before we open our Bibles.

Because it is NOT my responsibility to attempt a Vulcan mind meld to figure out your thoughts. It is YOUR responsibility as a poster to do that - you should make precisely clear what you think and why you think it. All of the other posters here do that, why shouldn't you do it too? If you're waiting for me to do that for you, don't even bother posting me cause it ain't gonna happen!

God calls people out of the world. Not, someone decides not to be of this world any more.

The fleshly way of doing that is called suicide. The flesh can neither submit nor obey.

Scripture says so. The heart is incurably wicked and man cannot change himself.

Scripture says so. The stony ground of the natural man is not good ground for growing the Seed of God's Word.

Read the parable of the soils. There is no root. There is no abiding.

Also, no good fruit comes from a bad tree. Nobody can bring something clean out of something impure.

Man is a slave to sin opposed to the Spiritual things of God which he can neither receive nor comprehend.

He hates the Light and furthermore, refuses to come into it. Scripture says so.

He is a lover of darkness defined as darkness itself. His deeds are evil and he does not want
them exposed, blinded by and under the power and control of Satan, as is the whole world.

He hears the gospel message as foolishness. How many times
have you decided to believe what you heard as foolishness?

He can neither receive nor comprehend the Spiritual things of God.

He is actually opposed to the Spiritual things of God.

He is hostile in his mind toward God. Scripture says so.

ALL good gifts come from God.

In your theology, is faith a gift?

Some here deride that idea.

They mock and scorn plainly written Scriptures, and call straight
up quotes false teaching and now the latest, perverted.

Clearly something has to change in the natural man. It is called his heart.
It has already been covered that he cannot change himself.

Job tells us he was living in fear (fear is sinful, see Revelation 21:8) and that is what caused the hedge of protection God put around Job to be breached so Job caused his own troubles.
You are mistaken in two ways: first, Revelation 21:8 doesn't address those who fear; it addresses those who are cowardly. There is a difference. It is not sinful to be afraid. Fear is the God-given response to the truth. Not everyone who is afraid is a coward. A coward gives up in the face of danger, hides, and does nothing. A brave person who is afraid doesn't give in to fear; he sees the danger and acts despite it.

Second, the text does not present Job's fear as a thing to be punished. God didn't tell Satan to mete out justice. God didn't say that Job displeased him or that Job broke one of his commandments. In fact, the passage begins with a clear statement that Job "was blameless, upright, fearing God and turning away from evil."

Yes, the false teachers always claim God is the One doing wrong and He is evil.
Did I say that God was doing wrong? I don't think so. Did I say that God was evil? I don't think so.
God cannot just stop satan from attacking someone when they have turn away from the Lord and are gotten in to sin (fear is sin according to Jesus - see Revelation 21:8) because if He did then He makes Himself out to be a liar because they would mean man does not reap what he sows.
On the contrary, the text portrays Satan as unable to act without God's permission. Satan is under God's authority. The text does not say that Satan attacked Job because Job was afraid. It also does not say that God was punishing Job for anything. In fact, in the final chapter of Job, when Job asked God why he had caused him to suffer, God told Job that he didn't owe him an explanation.

Don't confuse testing with punishment. Not everything bad happens because we deserve it. As the Apostle James says, God tests us through suffering. And don't let anyone say God is tempting me, because God is not evil. He doesn't tempt people. He tests them. God was testing Job, not punishing him.

God allowed Satan to cause injury to Job and the death of his children. When Job asked God why he did so, God appealed to his nature and role as creator. In other words, Job wasn't wise enough to understand God's purposes. None of us are. All we need to decide is that God is trustworthy and good. Our suffering has a good purpose, even if we don't know what it is.

Sorry to see you have been taught false doctrine concerning Job and Paul leading you to believe God is an absentee Father Who does not care for His children and sits idle watching satan destroy His people and taking so much joy in seeing evil come upon people. They taught you lies of satan on this top.
Our purpose for living is to learn wisdom, and the greatest source of wisdom is the scriptures. That is why we must live with the text long enough to understand what the text wants to say rather than what we want to hear.

I said nothing about God being an absentee Father. I never claimed that God didn't love his children. Be careful to always speak the truth about each other as those who love the truth.

Meaningless religious word salad.
If you knew me, you would never accuse me of being religious. If you are reacting to my language about the nature of God, perhaps you should pick up a dictionary. I would encourage you to think more deeply about the nature of God, the nature of man, and the implications of the creator/creature relationship. Many of the important themes of the Bible and of this thread are informed by that distinction.

Consider Romans 9:20 where Paul asks his readers to reflect on who they are as creatures. Some people misread Paul here, thinking that he is scolding his readers for their impudence. But that is not what Paul means. His rhetorical question focuses their attention on the distinction between their creaturely nature and God's transcendent nature as the creator. It is important, in Paul's view, that we get the proper perspective.

No, the moment lucifer thought inside himself that he was going to over throw God's throne - like lightning he was cast out of Heaven. That's the speed of light. Can't get any faster than that.
Well, truth be told. Contrary to Catholic teaching, Lucifer isn't Satan.

The passage is a prophetic taunt against the king of Babylon, highlighting his pride and downfall Bible Hub. The imagery of a “star of the morning” or “shining one” was common in ancient Near Eastern literature to denote someone of great power and glory Bible Hub. Such language is hyperbolic—it exaggerates the figure’s status to emphasize the shock of his fall.

The was able to get back in to go before God's throne due to Adam bowing his knee in sin to satan. God had given Adam authority to come before the Lord and when Adam committed high treason by turning away from God to become one with satan by sinning against God - that authority still had to be honored because God says the gifts and callings of God are without repentance (Romans 11:29), so if God does not honor His Word that would make Him a liar which He is not going to allow.
This is what we call an explanatory narrative. The text of the Bible doesn't say anything like the story you presented and yet you use it to make sense of what you believe the text is saying. I get that. I understand that. But it doesn't work in situations like this because people aren't going to take your word that your story is true.
Again, claiming God is evil and could stop evil but choose not to is making God out to be... the devil.
Did I say God was evil? I don't think so. I guess we hear what we want to hear.
That is about you being ignorant of the scripture not understanding how God's Kingdom works
From my perspective, it is about comparing your narrative to the scriptures to see where they deviate.
Your opposition to the Lord has created separation between you and the Lord.
Your time is short so I recommend repenting of this sin as quickly as possible.
Another narrative?

Yes but it would also say before Faith, the elect were chosen by Grace Rom 11:5-6 and Justified by Grace Rom 3:24

Titus 3:7

And what if a brother refused to forgive another brother? Would you conclude that he was being saved or would this raise doubts?
