I would say I lean heavily toward this view, simply because of the things the Lord has spoken to me about my own life, the life of David and about the garden.

It's not. You dismiss it because it destroys your argument. God is limited by His nature, and so are humans.
He is the One Who defines sin. Has He taken responsibility for sin?
Did Christ take the sins of the world upon Himself?
Scripture says He became sin for us. 2 Cor ch 5 v 21
God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
What's the difference ? Seems Calvinists have to split a lot of hairs
that is not true, that is how you understand them, but that is not the scriptural view and I am sure Calvin understood God's workings.
The sin in the garden was part of God's plan, sin was simply a tool. But God didn't have direct contact with the sin.
He just made it highly possible you would fail (I mean Adam of course). Satan was in the garden, this should be a huge clue to you.
Also no fall, no Moses, no law, no leaving Egypt, no OT prophets, no virgin birth, no crucifixion, no resurrection, no marriage supper of the lamb.
NOW HOW YOU wrestle with that is between you and God, but it is true non the less.

The author of something is the one who performs it. The author of a book is the one who writes the book.
The first cause of the writing of the book is the one who creates the author.
Is not creating people knowing that they will sin being the author of it ?
Nowhere in scripture is that nature defined as being born unable to respond positively to the Good News, that has to be inferred and read into the verses.
