What we witness in many of those who use sarcasm in the defense of their misunderstanding of scripture,is scripture truth in action.
1 Corinthians 2:14 and John 8:47.
Romans9plus-Johnandtitus.png

Romans 9 verse 18; John 6 verse 44; John 6 verse 65; John 6 verse 37; John 6 verse63; Titus 3 verse5 ~ God has mercy on whom He wants to have mercy, and He hardens whom He wants to harden. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. The Spirit gives life; the flesh profits nothing. He saved us because of His mercy, through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

That's the point. All the results are due to the activity of God; not man.

Do you drive only in reverse? LOL!

No, I don't believe Calvinism is the gospel. I do believe the tenets of Calvinism reflect biblical truth that undergirds and explains the gospel.

It takes God to open eyes and understanding? That sounds like revelation. Better be careful. Your cohorts don't believe revelation is necessary to salvation.

What has been twisted is the suggestion that I believe the Spirit forces anyone against their will.

You probably should work on your people skills.

Good to read you do not believe Calvinism is the gospel. I don't have anyone following me around; Jesus had the following and the gospel. Well if you think the Holy Spirit enters a person before the new birth, it is you who is twisting.

It is like dealing with a two year old, and they have put something where it does not belong, and you have it on video and they still

deny what is plainly a fact.

Some people lack credibility and when evidence is shown, they do not know what to do with it. It becomes a personal threat.

bornintransgression.png

Man is born in transgression and sin (Psalm 51 verse 5, 58 verse 3), dead in transgressions (Ephesians 2 verse 5), his heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure (Jeremiah 17 verse 9), held captive by a love for sin (John 3 verse 19; John 8 verse 34), so that he will not seek God (Romans 3 verses 10-11), because he loves the darkness (John 3 verse 19), and does not understand the things of God (1 Corinthians 2 verse 14), nor can he change himself (Jeremiah 13 verse 23). He suppresses the truth of God in unrighteousness (Romans 1 verse 18) and continues to willfully live in sin because he is totally depraved; this sinful lifestyle seems right to men (Proverbs 14 verse 12); they reject the gospel of Christ as foolishness (1 Corinthians 1 verse 18), and their mind is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. (Romans 8 verse 7).

Ephesians 1:13–14

In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

Philippians 2:12–13

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

John 3:16–18

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God

Titus 2:11–14

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works

...........................................................How can I be saved?

The Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” (Acts 16:30). Paul and Silas responded, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31).

  • Hear the Gospel. ( Romans 10:17, John 8:32)
  • Believe the Gospel (Hebrews 11:6, John 20:31)
  • Repent of past sins (Luke 13:3, Acts 17:30)
  • Confess faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 10:10, Matthew 10:32)
  • Be Baptized (Galatians 3:27, Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38)
  • Be faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10)

15 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2;and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.

3For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, I Cor.15

Ephesians 2:5 has been misquoted. It does not say mankind is dead in transgressions.

It actually says

4 God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,

5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved

So God does not leave us dead. He is rich in mercy because of the great love He has for us and so He has made us ALIVE together
with Christ. We are saved by God's grace.

God raised Jesus from the dead and He has made us alive in Christ. Jesus and US are made alive together by the grace of God.

They called a slew Bible references perverted.

I asked if they were JW and did not see an answer.

Did you? I also asked if they were Catholic.

They share some of the same beliefs.

Likewise when asked if they'd been here before.

Did you see an answer to that question?

Many are banned and come back, thus breaking the rules.

One of our naysayers has her profile deleted every so often and then returns under a new name.

Nobody can properly search her history that way.
First,how do you know that?
Secondly, how do we delete our profile? I thought only moderators or adinistrators would know these things. Or,be able to delete a profile.

The Bible does not say we are dead to the point we cannot believe the gospel when it is preached to us or heard by us or even read by us.

ROMANS 5

1Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice 3, in hope of the glory of God. 3Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

6For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

The passage does not say for while we were incapable of any response and reprobate and deaf to God to the point of total depravity

It says while were still weak (in some translations it says sinners never totally depraved and unable to respond)

In fact, v. 8 does state while we were still sinners.....we are justified by the blood of Christ as His blood had no sin

Salvation is not without condition. The condition is accepting by faith that Jesus died on our behalf and had the wrath of God, which we deserved, poured out upon Him.

We believe and we rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ and we have received reconciliation to God.

Just like the catholics, they must say you can't be saved unless you agree with them.

If they say you can be saved without agreeing with them, then they just admitted that they don't really believe what they follow is true.

They can't have it both ways.
Please quote somebody who has said such a thing. I have never seen or heard people who believe the Doctrines of Grace say that nobody can be saved unless they believe those doctrines. I have read some say or at least imply the opposite of your claim. For example, Cameron143 wrote: "What an individual believes about how salvation transpires is irrelevant to whether or not they are saved. " If you make a claim, it would be good if you provided some evidence to back it up.

He has basically said if you do not believe what he does you are not saved.

According to Calvinist He is the author of sin
That is just not true. For example, the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith has this paragraph:

The almighty power, unsearchable wisdom, and infinite goodness of God, so far manifest themselves in His providence, that His determinate counsel extends itself even to the first fall, and all other sinful actions both of angels and men;11 and that not by a bare permission, which also He most wisely and powerfully binds, and otherwise orders and governs,12 in a manifold dispensation to His most holy ends;13 yet so, as the sinfulness of their acts proceeds only from the creatures, and not from God, who, being most holy and righteous, neither is nor can be the author or approver of sin.14

11 Rom. 11:32–34; 2 Sam. 24:1; 1 Chron. 21:1
12 2 Kings 19:28; Ps. 76:10
13 Gen. 1:20; Isa. 10:6–7,12
14 Ps. 1, Ps. 21; 1 John 2:16

(my emphasis)

Do you have any examples of someone who says that they believe God is the Author of sin?

See post 3079 for an example

One example, and having looked at it, that post has a "condition" placed on it. That hardly seems grounds for you claiming that according to Calvinists He (God) is the author of sin. (I notice that you missed the s off "Calvinists" so perhaps you really meant "according to one Calvinist".)

Do they not say it was Gods plan for man to sin ?

Do they not say it was Gods plan for man to sin ?
Sin must have been an element of God's plan, because we read that before He even created the earth. Peter wrote to his Christian readers:

(1Pe 1:18-21 NKJV) knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

However, the fact that God planned for a Saviour from sin before sin even entered the world does not mean that God caused sin. He certainly did not make man sin.
