From1-Corinthians12-4-11s.png

From 1 Corinthians 12 verses 4-11 ~ There are different gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different ministries, but the same Lord. There are different ways of working, but the same God works all things in all people. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in various tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, who apportions them to each one as He determines.

JOHN 14:12
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
He said.. these signs shall follow them that believe. Some believe in Jesus amen praise GOD yet they do not believe this. They will believe John 3:16-17 yet will not believe will not do what He said Luke 11:13.

He gave everyone power and authority of the enemy.. man I don't want to dive into this. When He said if you say unto this MTN be removed and cast into the sea. He said if you have faith. That right there. you can have faith great faith if you will yet He also said and doubt not. You find its so easy to pray for others yet your self you doubt you have the faith yet you doubt.

Its like they bring this kid back.. the 12 could not cast out the demon. Yet did not Christ give them all power all authority over the enemy? When they tried to cast it out.. something happened and as Christ said.. why did you doubt? Maybe Peter said..ooh didn't work for me John you try it .. haha just playing.

Peter and John at that gate. I love this..share it all the time. After that man was healed. They said .. why do you look at us as if we did this by our own power? That name faith in that name healed this man. See many times we try to do it.. its HIM. You have to have faith and doubt not. If you doubt let not that man think he will get anything from God.

So Christ said this.. and the works He did we also do.. its always Him.. not us.. its that name. faith in that name. You have to know this in your heart not your head. You can say the words and nothing.. you have to know that you know that you know. As one said.. you get it in to your heart and they cannot beat it out of you with a bat lol. Explain? He said it.. just do what He said.. use His name for HIS glory as He leads

From my experience, most try to dance around this. I suspect that Jesus was being humble when he said this, but even that falls short. There are people I know of who can do some amazing things, and I am aware of some accounts, naming names, that claim even more. So exactly what Jesus meant, whether this was a statement of humility or true expectations, I am not certain.

JOHN 14:12
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Joh 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Luk 19:37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen.

Joh 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

Moses and Elijah did miracles.

But who is going to outdo Jesus in the miracles department and healing on an individual level.

We do not read of Paul and the disciples doing the wonders that Jesus did and in that quantity and severity.

We do not read of anyone feeding 5000 people.

We do not see mighty works going on today.

Joh 14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

Joh 20:28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
Joh 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

But Jesus did mighty works and in abundance because He was testifying to Israel that He is the Messiah so He went above what the common saint can do especially when faith plays a critical factor in our salvation.

The same as Moses and Elijah went above the common Hebrew.

So an individual saint will not outdo Jesus in the miracles and healing department not even close.

Mat 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

But collectively the saints will impact more people than Jesus did but their miracles will not be as mighty because our salvation is based on faith.

Jesus could do such great miracles for He was there in person therefore those who accepted Him did not need faith so it did not impact their faith.

Which is why Jesus told Thomas blessed are those who have not seen Him yet still believes because it is by faith.

Individually a person cannot outdo Jesus in miracles and healings and the severity of those miracles.

So obviously Jesus was speaking of the saints collectively.

1Co 3:5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
1Co 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
1Co 3:7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

Which Jesus was only sent to the lost sheep of Israel but the saints have impacted the world to the saving of more people than when Jesus was on earth but God gets the glory.

A saint shall do greater works but not without the aid of the rest of the saints.

For who can out do Jesus and it would not be required of us seeing our salvation is based on faith.

You start pumping out some Jesus' wow that was amazing miracles then you would be violating faith.

Miracles will be done like healing but they will be done on a small scale and something the heathen can explain away which some will say it is a God on a positive side having that benefit to the spiritually hungry.

But you start doing eye popping, jaw dropping, and limp posturing, miracles you are violating faith.

So we cannot do greater works than Jesus in that category.

But collectively the saints can impact the world on a greater scale than when Jesus was on earth.

Of course some individuals have impacted more people than when Jesus was on earth in the preaching and teaching of God's word although maybe not personally in public.

JOHN 14:12
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

In a sense, Paul did greater work measured as the number of converts.

No this is needed, cant skip Holy Spirit .
The Sevenfold Attributes (Isaiah 11:2)
The text breaks down the character and operational attributes of the Spirit into seven distinct expressions: [1]
  • The Spirit of the Lord: The foundational attribute, representing God's direct presence, ownership, and divine authority.
  • The Spirit of Wisdom: The ability to see things from God’s perspective and understand the deeper realities of life.
  • The Spirit of Understanding: The practical insight to discern truth from error and comprehend complex situations clearly.
  • The Spirit of Counsel: The divine guidance needed to make right choices, formulate plans, and give strategic direction.
  • The Spirit of Might: The supernatural power, strength, and courage to execute God's will and overcome obstacles.
  • The Spirit of Knowledge: A deep, experiential acquaintance with God's truth, character, and spiritual laws.
  • The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord: A profound, loving reverence and awe for God that leads to obedience and worship. Then The Silent 9 fruits Then The Gifts of the Spirit .
  • Also To Note :The teachers is to be taught in this nanner from The Teacher Within!

I believe that the greatest work is leading people to Jesus such that they become born again. People can get healed physically yet still go to hell. Lord Jesus did countless miracles, yet vast numbers of people turned away from Him.

People who are born again experience death and resurrection. It's spiritual, not physical. It's eternal, not temporal. That's the greatest work of all in my view.

Let us not forget that the Lord Jesus speaks the truth. I believe this is something we all take as a given."
JOHN 14:6
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Let us also not forget that the Lord Jesus performed a great miracle.
He fed a multitude of 5,000 men, not counting the women and children, using only two small fish and five loaves of bread.
They all ate and were satisfied, and there were many baskets of leftovers.

Was there any of His disciples who, without a doubt, truly followed Him and did greater works than the Lord did?

Could you please explain further or elaborate on what you mean?

And also, how can someone become born again based on what you said?

There's more than one way to define "greater".
How long was Jesus' official ministry?
The exact time line has been debated, but most Christians agree that He had an intense ministry beyond anyone ever during less than 4 years. He completed the works of redemption and did our Father's will perfectly. Nobody in history compares. He is the Greatest in that sense and perfect beyond our comprehension. I think people get confused because they are reading this meaning into the text.

Were there disciples in history who trusted Christ while young, prepared for ministry with good guidance, studied and preached the Word of over 50 years?
Certainly, so why couldn't they lead a greater number to faith in Christ since they had opportunities to perhaps reach more? There are a few good preachers who have shared the gospel with millions through modern technology.

Someone cared enough to get into a car to drive many miles to share the good news of salvation with my Roman Catholic Mom. He cared enough about me to make a special trip back once I was home from school. In the time of Christ, it was physically impossible to travel quickly and easily over long distances.
Think about our conversation.
Who would image back then that a Filipino on a beautiful island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean could talk to an American on the mainland many thousands of miles away.

While I'm at it, here's the good news/gospel of Jesus Christ that was shared with me. I didn't know that we could be sure how to go to Heaven until someone showed me from the Bible.

What you said caught my interest.

People are born again when they receive Christ as Saviour. It's not emotional, although many feel emotion. It's not purely intellectual, although repentance is a change of mind. It is a decision of the will. So what I said was not the gospel, rather an explanation of what God does when we are born again.

Lord Jesus raised a number of people from the dead. They eventually died anyway. Those who are born again will never die. Eternal life is just that, eternal.

When we receive Christ, God includes us in His death. The dead spirit that we inherited from Adam is crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20). When Jesus died, He descended into hell. He left His natural, human body there and rose again with a spiritual body. We are still in Christ spiritually, so we receive the new, born again spirit. That's why the "ask Jesus into your heart" gospel is false. Lord Jesus won't enter a filthy, dead spirit. "Behold, I stand at the door and knock" was said to believers who had sunk into complacency and self satisfaction.

The greatest miracle is a changed life. No one would recognise the person I am today compared with 55 years ago. And just as well. I was a total mess.

JOHN 14:12
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Elijah did some miracles. Elisha, who received a double portion of the Spirit that had been on Elijah, did many more miracles and greater miracles than Elijah. IMO Elijah is a type of Jesus and Elisha is a type of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit through the saints is doing more and greater works in His ministry than Jesus did during His ministry. Those works are done through disciples.

Can you sahre to us how did they accomplish more than what the Lord Jesus did?
Might I inquire as to where in my post I said that anyone had accomplished mor that what the Lord Jesus did?

Now i know from reading many posts that there are those in this forum that "know" that when their understanding of the special revelation from God differs with the general revelation, also from God, that their understanding of the special revelation is correct and the general revelation, as commonly presented, is incorrect, and set out to reveal the truth of the general revelation with no more evidence than their own understandings, but such is not to be challenged. Yet if anyone even hints that maybe such an individual's understanding of the special revelation is in error based on the general revelation, that they are clearly wrong. I merely maintain that if one's understandings of both revelations are in conflict, that the individual involved misunderstands at least one of the two, if not both.

Now precisely what Jesus meant with His statement falls into such a category. How did Jesus mean what He said, are we properly understanding His words or are we assigning our own meaning? A similar example might be when we assign the GOAT title to someone in a certain endeavor, yet that person denies the title and points to someone else as more deserving.

Are you referring to the Born Again Christian group? The one that says its members have been "born again" because they have left behind their old sinful ways, such as harmful habits and vices, and therefore identify themselves as Born Again Christians?

Don't you mean that they CLAIM to have left behind their old sinful selves because they have learned to avoid some of the more obvious results of a sinful nature such as harmful habits and vices? I know of no believer living on earth who has fully lost their sin nature, only ones who make some degree of effort to battle against it in themselves.
