One had to be saved in the first place to spiritually hear the word of truth, then faith or believing follows.

So, according to Calvinism, the gospel does not save anyone?

Something else saves you, then you can believe the gospel?

Thus, preaching the gospel is not necessary?

People get saved by some other thing?

But this verse says you trusted after, and not before, you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation.

When we read the new testament it’s pretty clear that our regular human brains,the natural mind, are just totally short circuited when it comes to understanding God. That's because we are separated from God due to our human carnal nature that is unable to understand the things of God.

The tenets of Strong Atheism are evidence of this.

Paul talks about this shirt circuit ,if you will, in 1 Corinthians 2:14 where he basically says that without the Holy Spirit everything about the gospel looks like total nonsense to us.

We just don't have the hardware to process spiritual truth on our own. Romans 8:7 even says our natural mindset is actually hostile to God. We can't just force ourselves to get it or follow Him because our default setting is completely broken and separated from conscious awareness of anything related to God..

So to cross that bridge God basically has to do a major software update on us first.

In Ezekiel 36 God talks about ripping out a stubborn heart of stone and replacing it with a soft heart of flesh.

Jesus calls this being born again of the spirit , in John 3.

That's why Ephesians 2:8 says faith is a gift from God and not something we just whip up on our own so we can brag about it.

Jesus says in John 6:44 that nobody can have faith in Him unless the Father actively draws
them in. Once the Spirit flips that switch and gives us faith, then the daily rewiring of our mind, as we read in Romans 12:2, finally starts happening so we
can see things through God's eyes.

1, Man does not have a free will.
2. Our salvation is pre-determined.
3. Man has no say in his or her salvation.
4. God has determined to send certain people to hell for no fault of theirs.

A living soul,yes. And yet,he disobeyed God after he failed to lead Eve in the proper direction. Away from the forbidden tree.


If this had not happened,the names God wrote in the Lamb's Book of Life,and Jesus as the Lamb slaughtered before the foundation of the world,would be for naught.

Every single point here is a complete misrepresentation of historical Reformed theology. Here is the actual truth:
  • 1. On Free Will: Calvinism does not teach man is a robot. The Westminster Confession (9.1) states the human will is never forced. Man has free choice, but his choices match his corrupt nature (John 8:34). Sinners freely choose sin because they love it (John 3:19). God heals the will so we freely choose Christ.

  • 2. On Predetermination: You are calling the Bible a heresy. Scripture explicitly states God “predestined us for adoption” (Ephesians 1:5) and “whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate” (Romans 8:29).

  • 3. On Man's "Say": God does not believe for us. Man must actively and willingly repent and believe to be saved. Calvinism simply notes that a spiritually dead corpse cannot choose life until God first makes them alive (Ephesians 2:1-5).

  • 4. On Hell: No one goes to hell "for no fault of theirs." God condemns people strictly for their own willful sins, rebellion, and unbelief (Romans 6:23). Hell is a display of perfect justice against guilty sinners, not arbitrary selection.
Before labeling a system heresy, you should accurately learn what it actually teaches.

According to Rom. 10:13-17, it is the preaching of the gospel that builds the faith of the person which causes the person to choose Christ. Is that not a free will?
Predestination is not the same as Pre-determination. Predestination is fore-ordaining of what we would be as per God's design. It only happens as we cooperate with the Holy Spirit, not otherwise.
Jesus came to save sinners, not to send them to hell.

Please read carefully. It says "...I said unto thee". What did Jesus say to Nicodemus? "You must be born again"

I did read carefully. Are you suggesting that an individual makes themselves born again?

Keep reading the passage. One is born again of water and of the Spirit; not of himself.
