You need to compare scripture with scripture, do a Bible search on "cloud" as in the many times God appeared as a cloud, and study the prophetic language used throughout the bible about previous judgements. We are talking symbolic language here. The Bible interprets itself.

The known world at the time was the Roman world and the gospel was preached and spread to every part of it.

Not understanding the language is the error of the futurist, who expect the stars to literally fall etc. I thought by you understanding there was no gap in Daniels 70 weeks that you wasn't a futurist.

BTW - I am not a preterist who thinks all prophecy got fulfilled in 70AD, nor a futurist who thinks everything is future. I am a Historicist that believes the book of Revelation presents in symbols the entire course of history from the close of the first century onwards.

The Historcist perspective indeed does handle the scripture pertaining to eschatology much better, I do think it has a weakness in terms of audience relevance, John was writing to the people of his time and it had meaning for them.
I am leaning towards P or partial P /but I am only beginning to put it together by reading many of the great writers from the 1800's like James S. Russell.

I agree with the P view to a certain extent, but after the horsemen representing the rise and fall of Rome - I differ in that I see Revelation continuing throughout history. And the scary thing for a former futurist who thought everything was far into the future is, at present I see us in Chapter 19 of the Revelation, there isn't much left to fulfil :)

It is ok for us to agree on only 90 per cent of stuff though isn't it ? lol

Absolutely, anything is better than futurism in my book lol ... especially the futurists who like to straddle both lanes and argue there is

some kind of dual fulfillment with 70 AD and then also affirm it all in the future.

And take things literally in the book of Revelation when at the start of that book it says

Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

as in its symbols - although the thoughts of zombies walking the earth - talking frogs - dragons -flying locust with women's hair is very exciting - Id pay to see that movie :) lol

I see things such as Calvinism and Zionism as anathema. They do great harm to the gospel in my opinion.

And to add to that The Rapture - it seems people who believe in that do not care what happens in the world, the do not believe in being salt - they think when it gets to bad they will anyway and be on fluffy clouds, while the rest suffer on earth. So to me that attitude makes the gospel of no effect.

I guess in these few posts I just alienated the majority of todays Christianity

But what is the revelation of Jesus Christ?
The revelation of Jesus Christ is being revealed in the last day, the Sabbath day. Anyone that doesn’t know this answer or who Jesus Christ is, Jesus will say I don’t know you. i’m out running errands right now. But when I get home, I will send you all these texts from the Bible that will show you who Jesus Christ is everybody’s entitled to their own beliefs. I understand that and I respect that. But is our job to plant a seed. It is Jesus who makes her grow. I just trying to put out what I know and maybe somebody will understand it. All religions got some part of the Bible right. But you have to focus on the Bible in the Bible only to get the real truth.

The conspiracy side of me thinks that was the plan all along... an impotent church.

Ok so you was not really asking - you just wanted to tell me your view :P You could saved time and lead with that :)

I know it was a conspiracy first started by Jesuits to take the heat of the Pope during the reformation - then adopted and adapted by the Plymouth Brethren - then over the water we had that Azura street thing - but the important thing is the start of it - wanting to discredit the Bible and promote ongoing revelation. I know that sounds all over the place but its hard to put it all in a short sentance :P

Along with the other shady characters, Darby and Scofield and so many others really, the more you dig, the deeper the rabbit hole.

Yeah, who has time to type out all that stuff, be here day and night!!!

Yes Darby was the guy I was thinking of when I mentioned the brethren - The devil knows he has a short time so he deceives the whole world
