And I'd also love to go to Vienna, Austria where they filmed on location. The famous steps scene where they sang Do Re Mi. Salzberg?

I recall when flashmobs were the rage, and people were singing Do Re Mi in the malls.

They do it on cruise ships too. Some cruise ships have grand staircases like on the Titanic, and people perform there with everyone watching, as well as in their onboard theatres.

Or you could start it ;)
I love making threads, but in case you hadn't noticed...
I have a hard time keeping up with them
I already started a Windies one. Year ago lol
It's in miscellaneous.

It's been getting some traction, people still watch (and read) Gone With the Wind.

I still haven't been to the movie singalongs they have from time to time.
If I ever make it to one of those, one of 2 things will happen:
I will either be kicked out for being too wrapped up in it, or...
I'll become the spotlight for getting too wrapped up in it
Either way, I'd get too wrapped up in it

You have to go dressed up in a pale pink coat...or a goat.

Your next CC meet up

The hills are alive! Just play the DVD or stream it with the captions on a big tv screen. Get everyone to dress up as whiskers or schnitzel on noodles, or thunder...

They can't kick you out of a CC meetup can they? Plus there will be at least 7 of you. I picture you as the eldest, Liesel.

My costume will be made out of curtains. But they aren't as nice as the ones in the movie.

The gal who played Liesel also said that, she was too old, she was 21!

I dressed like that when I was working in school. Some of the girls said they thought I was beautiful but the boys never dared to say I was wearing an ugly dress.

I had the straw hat as well.

But but but but...
My life is not an empty page for fate to turn the light on...

I'm certainly not unprepared to face a world of men...
No way am I timid and shy and scared...
But I do have someone older (maybe wiser :p )
so there's that.

Well yea you're going to have to lose the sword. And the Bible unless it's your prayer journal you haven't written in yet.

Frankenstein has had approximately 69 adaptations they say, but I have only found a list of 12 movies/tv shows as part of a project I am working on,
It is among top three adaptations, along with Dracula and Sherlock Holmes.

The original has a lasting legacy for certain.

So far the Hallmark (2004) is quite good.

The other one I hope to watch is the 2025 version see how it compares to the book and the other films.

People think this is a Horror story, but I think it can be regarded as something else, more like a Warning story!!

Anyone read Interview With The Vampire, or seen the film? It had Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise as well as a young Kirsten Dunst. Kirsten Dunst killed it as the little girl vampire.

The movie sequel, Lestat, dropped off the face of the earth, but actually the book sequel was pretty good. But I think as the series went on, Lestat became or or always was an obnoxius rock-star vampire. And the Vampire Chronicles went on forever. Of course it did, the vampires are immortal!

Except when they are exposed to the sun.

It's a Science Fiction cautionary tale.
.

Oh well, lots of debate regarding this on Reddit, lol.

I would regard it more a gothic horror than a work within science fiction, the science is minimal in the story.
But that is just my opinion and that is why literature is largely subjective

Please don't go on reddit! It's a huge time sink, unlike CC lol

I genrified novels as a librarian and I would place Frankenstein in the Classics section.

There isn't one in most libraries, but that what *I* would do!

Also it would be under SHE if was done alphabetically.
