BTW, I took the time to verify my calculations.
And yep, this is basically spot on......:geek::whistle:
Your calculation is short by approximately seven calendar years because you treated 483 prophetic years as 483 ordinary solar years.

****************************************************************************************

"If we apply 483 years to 457 B.C. we arrive at the year 27 A.D."

Actually, we MUST use the 360 day "prophetic year" in these cases.

Aaaannnnnddd............you have just lost 7 years!

And what happened in 20AD? Absolutely nothing........:geek: :sneaky:

Pro tip: always use 173,880 days, and then convert to calendar years.

I don't think God needs us to calculate anything in the Bible except the name of the beast. All the effort of that guy is for nothing.

God sent Gabriel to Daniel with a concise mathematical prophecy, with the intention that Daniel you or I should NOT "calculate anything"?

Doesn't make sense to me.....🥲

Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum explicitly teaches that Daniel 8:23–25 relates directly to the Antichrist and the 70th week of Daniel (the Tribulation).**

In his extensive works on prophecy—most notably in *The Footsteps of the Messiah* and his verse-by-verse commentary on the Book of Daniel—Fruchtenbaum employs a specific hermeneutical method to explain these verses:

### 1. The Title: "The King of Fierce Countenance"
In Fruchtenbaum’s teaching on the various titles given to the Antichrist across scripture, he directly identifies the "king of fierce countenance" from Daniel 8:23 as one of the primary titles of the future Antichrist.

### 2. The Principle of Double Reference and Typology
While secular historians and some biblical commentators limit Daniel 8 strictly to the historical Greek king Antiochus Epiphanes (who desecrated the temple in 167 BC), Fruchtenbaum applies the principle of **double reference** and biblical **typology**.
* **The Type:** Antiochus Epiphanes is the historical preview.
* **The Antitype:** The Antichrist is the ultimate fulfillment.

Fruchtenbaum notes that while Daniel 8:1–22 focuses on the historical transition from Medo-Persia to Greece and its division, the text shifts structurally at verse 23 to detail the final, world-ruling dictator who will emerge in the "latter time".

### 3. Connection to the 70th Week
Fruchtenbaum maps out the timeline of the Antichrist's activities during the final 7 years—the **70th week of Daniel** (or the Great Tribulation). In his formal outlines of the Book of Daniel, he categorizes verses 23–25 strictly under the header of **"The Antichrist"**. He matches the descriptions in Daniel 8 to the events of the Tribulation:

* **"Mighty, but not by his own power" (v. 24):** Fueled and indwelled by Satanic power during the Tribulation.
* **"By peace shall destroy many" (v. 25):** The Antichrist's rise under a deceptive guise of global diplomacy and the signing of the 7-year covenant with Israel.
* **"Stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand" (v. 25):** His ultimate defeat at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, accomplished supernaturally without
human hands.

Daniel 9
The Seventy “Sevens”
20 While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and making my request to the Lord my God for his holy hill— 21 while I was still in prayer, Gabriel, the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening sacrifice. 22 He instructed me and said to me, “Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding. 23 As soon as you began to pray, a word went out, which I have come to tell you, for you are highly esteemed. Therefore, consider the word and understand the vision:
24 “Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place.
25 “Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. 26 After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing. The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. 27 He will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.

Nowhere does it say that we have to calculate it. Daniel 9 practically walks us through it. Your guy didn't need to do any of that.

If the preterists miss the message, calculations aren't going to impress them.

No we don't, there were 390-day leap years, every 6th and 40th year was a leap year. No functional calendar would fall behind 5 days a year.

When you apply 486.5 years to 457 BC, though, you get 30AD, widely believed to be the year of crucifixion.
That fixed prophetic interval is then mapped onto ordinary historical chronology, ***INCLUDING*** the leap years of the Julian calendar. The Julian year is therefore the civil framework used to locate the dates—not the prophetic benchmark itself.

Hope that helps.....🥲

"Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding"

"Therefore, consider the word and understand the vision:"

I stridently disagree.....🤨

No. You are conflating the ordinary Jewish lunisolar calendar with the prophetic chronological unit used in Daniel and Revelation.

The argument for a 360-day prophetic year does not depend on claiming that the Jews conducted ordinary civil life with an uncorrected 360-day calendar. It comes from the biblical equivalence of 42 months, 1,260 days, and “time, times, and half a time.” That yields twelve 30-day months, or 360 days per prophetic year.

Accordingly, the sixty-nine weeks are calculated as:

69 × 7 × 360 = 173,880 days.

That fixed prophetic interval is then mapped onto ordinary historical chronology, including the leap years of the Julian calendar. The Julian year is therefore the civil framework used to locate the dates—not the prophetic benchmark itself.

Your proposed calculation also uses a disputed starting point. The 457 BC date is based on the decree associated with Ezra 7, whereas Sir Robert Anderson begins with Nehemiah 2 in the twentieth regnal year of Artaxerxes because that passage explicitly concerns authorization to rebuild Jerusalem and its walls.

Furthermore, 457 BC to AD 30 is approximately 486 years, not Daniel’s 483 years, and “486.5 years” is not a chronological unit supplied anywhere in Daniel 9. You have selected a beginning and ending date and then reported the elapsed solar time; you have not demonstrated that this is the interval specified by the prophecy.

Anderson’s precise 445 BC–AD 32 reconstruction is very tight indeed, and yes, later scholars such as Harold Hoehner revised some of its dates. But Jewish leap months do not refute the 360-day prophetic-year argument, and a 457 BC starting point cannot simply be assumed without first proving that Ezra 7—not Nehemiah 2—is the decree intended by Daniel 9:25.
No matter which calendar you use, either Jewish, prophetic or Gregarian, a solar year is approximately 365.25 days on AVERAGE, anywhere short of that would make the calendar invalid. Even the Jewish calendar has a leap year with an additional month every two or three years, so the number can catch up. Therefore your calculation is invalid.

30-day month was not just for prophecy, it was already in use in the days of Noah, the Flood lasted exactly 150 days of 5 months, it was a valid civil calendar that predated the Jewish calendar ordained by God in Ex. 12. This calendar has a leap month every few years to catch up the lost 5 days each year, in Dan. 12:11, 1290 days were decreed, the additional 30 was a leap month.

Look man......your "theories" regarding Daniel 9 have been falsified. Just totally wrecked. Obliterated.

And tragically (and hilariously) you STILL do not understand why.

OF COURSE the Julian and Hebrew calendars had "leap years". And that is why your dating scheme is hopelessly wackadoo. It doesn't work and it never will. Your errata does not stop there by any means. Your whole scheme is so marinated in error that it is well and truly pickled.

In fact anyone and everyone who has EVER conjured up any sort of contiguous 70 weeks will ALWAYS suffer to be proven wrong. This is inevitable.

You're accusing me of your own guilt. What's hilarious is your own intricate calculations, when there's no such intention or need in the original text.

The 69x7=483 prophetic years end at the beginning of the ministry of Jesus and not at the end of it. And, 483 years from 457 B.C. is 27 A.D.

The 62x7=434 prophetic years end at the end of the ministry of Jesus - the "cut off" point in time referred to in Daniel 9:26. This is 30 A.D.

And, if you count from 445 B.C. - add 12 years - you will end up with 39 A.D. and 42 A.D. - in 'event' terms, where does that leave you?

In fact anyone and everyone who has EVER conjured up any sort of contiguous 70 weeks will ALWAYS suffer to be proven wrong. This is inevitable.
You sayin' God has been proven wrong?

After all, He was the first to come up with a 'contiguous 70 weeks' - then, He told Gabriel and instructed him to tell Daniel. ;)

You're reading into it what you want because it gives you a chance to puff yourself up unnecessarily.

All it says is to consider the word and understand the vision. "Considering" and "understanding" doesn't mean requiring to calculate. All the people who came to follow Jesus were not mathematicians and didn't get saved calculating the 70 weeks. Not even Blaise Pascal, the famous mathematician, got saved calculating anything.

Welp......it's nothing but crickets nowadays on this thread. Nothing in the way of a creditable defense that's for sure.

Another day, another victory for the futurist dispensationalist crew. This, of course, is forever and always the case, and quite inevitable.

Don't crow too loudly. Dispensationalism is on the decline in most theological institutions; many have dropped it completely. It is a man-made idea (Darby), and a view forced on the scriptures, not found in them.

Pro tip: always use 173,880 days, and then convert to calendar years.
Pro tip: do not 'force'/make a requirement where none is required.

"A year is a year is a year."

The [seeming] requirement to convert between 360-day years and 365-day years is a mathematical-and-logical deception (of sorts).

There is no 5 days/year accumulation gain/loss in hundreds-of-years time spans.

It would take 73 years for the accumulation of 5 days/year to reach the gain or loss of 1 year.

The 360-day year system self-corrects within 19 years. The 365-day system self-corrects within 1 year.

"Do the math..." :geek:

Sir Robert Anderson was successful hoaxed by spooookky Darby and Scofield and "the Jesuits".

I think not. Rather, I think that it is you doing the hoaxing. Very shoddily I might add.

Good! I certainly hope so - it is about time that folks wake up to the truth and the realization of the severe damage that false idea has caused.

Nothing diminishes the need for genuine revival like dispensationalism with its pessimistic outlook. Show me a Church that majors on dispensationalism and I will show you a Church that never sees revival or any kind of move of the Spirit. Denying the need for a baptism with the Holy Spirit, they by and large are powerless and unsanctified, believing they got it all at conversion. While arguing over minor points of prophecy and the making of charts, most are indifferent to the needs of a world heading to Hell.
