That response is childish and makes no sense at all.

Are you interested in an adult conversation or not? If not -- I will cut my responses to your posts.

It is a fair question since those verses are proof text out of context, it is mind boggling you think that is how we read a text let alone scripture... quite ironic you think that is "adult converstation" to cherry pick verses.

Here is the answer.

Romans 9 is wrongly explained if one understands it to refer to individual election to salvation.

Instead, the historical destiny of different nations (especially Israel) is being narrated.

To think that individual election to salvation is in view in the reference to Esau and Jacob in Romans is not using context to understand Paul's line of reasoning.

There is no doubt that the OT contexts refer to the temporal and historical destiny of peoples rather than to individual election to salvation.

The focus of Romans 9:10-13 is not the salvation of Jacob and Esau. It is God’s sovereign selection of the covenant line through which the promised Seed would come (Galatians 3:16).

Yes there is a difference, not about individual unconditional election to salvation.

A 5 year old doesn't have the capacity to understand what being born again means.

But why would that matter in the Calvinist soteriology where the person is just regenerated without the ability to understand, understanding only comes after regeneration.

Seems like you are refuting your own position.

I do think a five year old has the ability to understand the Good News.

The Good News is simple, it is just Calvinists who make it complicated using the sovereignty of God (wrongly conceived version of God's sovereignty) as an excuse.

Let us be clear since it repeated so often....that this verse does not support total inability.

“For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.” (Romans 8:7–9)

1) Paul says that the mind set on the flesh is hostile to God.
2) He says it does not submit to God’s law and indeed cannot.
3) He says those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

However, The passage does not state fallen mankind is incapable of ...

1)hearing God’s appeal,
2)incapable of recognizing truth,
3)incapable of humbling themselves, or incapable of trusting in Christ.

This distinction. and not reading into the text, matters immensely!!

I feel I must come to the defence of Cameron143. I have read many of his posts, on this thread and elsewhere, and have never seen one where he insults anybody. Obviously he disagrees with some other posters, but that isn't an insult. It would only become insulting if he was rude to the person to whom he was replying. Do you have any instance where he has shown rudeness?

Well, enjoy those feelings.

He has a false supposition in his argument, the atoning has been accomplished for all as a gift, that does not mean God is unjust to

send people to hell ... people go to hell for suppressing the truth in unrighteousness, refusing to seek and find His good faith offer.

If I have a gift ready and waiting and the person does not accept the gift when offered, but suppresses that truth in unrighteousness

that does not make me unjust for their choice... it actually is true justice.

Calvinism is so very mangled.
The Gift/Gifts in Salvation ae not offered, they are given, bestowed, applied by the Spirit Eph 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

A 5 year old doesn't have the capacity to understand what being born again means. Your testimony is more like a Fairy-tale. But it sounds like you were quite capable of sin. If you weren't born dead in your trespasses and sin, then Gods Word is not true.

Yet Jesus said 14 but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 19

You are a false witness and you testify against Christ Himself.

So you put me in a terrible position where I'm forced to choose between your private opinion and Gods Word.

You, in spite of the fact you do not believe we can choose, have already chosen and so be it. God's word reveals who is who even in this format.

12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

I would tell you to be careful of your next words in your judgements, but since you do not hear...

You don't even hold to systematic theology, your theology is all fragmented, inconsistent and incoherent. Those of us who rightly divide the Word of God, never struggle with all of these contradictions and inconsistencies, our theology is in perfect harmony with the whole counsel of God.

Thankfully, I hold to Christ who is not a system. He is the risen and victorious Son of God who has defeated death and states that all may come to Him.

I don't think you could rightly divide a sandwich for your lunch.

I will say though, YOUR theology, as you put it, is yours and you are most welcome to keep it since you reject the truth.

If that is my modus operandi, it should be easy to show examples. You made a claim concerning the nature of my posts. Either what you say is true or not. I'm simply asking you to prove your claim. If you cannot, you are guilty of what you accuse me of. Please show the posts that verify your claim.

We all can read. Self righteousness is not a defence.

If you truly knew me, you would know this is a terrible characterization of me. I think you confuse humility for weakness and false piety. One can be humble and yet strong and as bold as a lion. By God's grace -- When it comes to the defense of the Faith, I fear no man. This is not pompous or self-righteous. This is what conviction through the Spirit looks like.

2Co 10:2 But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.

That's you in the picture isn't it? I know you and do not want to know you further.

Our generation is the most knowledgeable in all of human history, we enjoy the benefit of 2000 years of Church refinement. Every single bible doctrine has been fully studied and all of the previous, misinterpretations and false doctrines have thoroughly dealt with and corrected.

And you are witness to the great falling away and a happy participator.

Church refinement? Yes, Jesus on the cross with a crown of thorns pressing his brow and dripping blood into His eyes was quite refined. At last we have understood what it was all about.

I've noticed there to be a few here who speak for others,as if there is a group of like minded opponents to the golden chain of Salvation in scripture.
A collective of Gospel opponents.

You all assume anyone quote what Jesus says,God calls us to him,no one can come to him unless this occurs, are Calvinists.

Most of you who do this know nothing about Calvinism. Especially that John Calvin did not want his teachings to carry his namesake. Or that Calvin did not originate the doctrine.

Jesus did.Followed by others well before John.

You try to sound like you are over and above it all while demonstrating you are, alas, just part of the madding crowd.

You even quoted the verse that tells us to believe on the Lord. I quoted a verse differenciating between faith and works.
All of the Bible is true. It is the word of God. We must humble ourselves and form our belief around the Word...
More works

It just the word games, trying to sound like they agree but really do not.

We know darn well and it has been made it very clear Calvinist maintain the non-scriptural position that people are regenerated so they can believe.

They repeat the same DEAD things and bow down to them.

Guess what? That is an idol.

Idolatry does not require a statue.

Unfortunately, free willers, Pelagian heretics, and those with CDS refuse to comply with that standard, as they
routinely contradict and outright deny a plethora of explicitly articulated verses in favor of their opinion.

My opinion is that the whole Bible is right. Where it says we're called to Him and where it says we must believe in Him. It's all God and the glory is His. What He says is good enough.
