? I don't know...
Never been married or divorced, so I wouldn't know the total cost. Plus inflation.

I have no experience with marriage as I have never been married and have only attended one wedding, but if I were to get married I'd prefer it to be outdoors where there are birds and critters. At my favorite state park maybe. Nothing big and fancy...except for how we feel about Christ and each other. In other words, not expensive.

I'm still in agreement with what I said 2 years ago as far as the wedding goes. I'm not partial to big fancy weddings, too stressful for me.

As far as a honeymoon, I've always thought staying in a cabin at Osage Hills would be ideal. Hiking, boating, sleeping to the sound owls, bliss.

After the wedding need not be expensive, as long as you having a roof over your head (in hopefully a safe area), food, utilities, necessities, etc.

It might be cheap for you but maybe not for your fiance/groom if he's orginally from far away or another state/country and has to travel to see you in person. I mean airfares and all.

Then visas etc. IDK.

Yea I wouldn't want a big fancy wedding either even if someone else was paying for it. If people show up, they show up, I wouldn't necessarily make it RSVP and demand they travel to a destination where they need to stay in a hotel for it.

I have not even thought of the honeymoon!

Maybe I'm being nosy, but now am curious where married couples go for their honeymoons. They have to go somewhere don't they? Or at least somewhere thats not their marital home, IDK, so they can step over the threshold after their honeymoon...tradition is the Groom has to carry the bride in, literally, through the door.

Because who has a bed already prepared? Where do they get this from? New beds are expensive, I mean at least $1000 for a new mattress. My brother paid something like $10,000 for a King size bed, and he's not even married or seeing anyone. (That I know of! )

I have not experienced a relationship with anyone outside the country, so I don't have experience with those challenges.
I have been in LDR's within my country, and have traveled due to that. I never got to the marriage part, so I haven't had to go through the difficult decision of who is going to live where.

I'm not big on tradition. I'll carry him through the door! jk!

1 human male = 4-5 Whangdoodles (weight)

We all know Carrie can take on at least 10 Whangdoodles at one time, so a husband shouldn't be any problem!

Here's to Carrie and her VERY LUCKY man!! 💘

The RSVP isn't a obligation to show up, it's method used to count the number of attendees, this helps you determine the size of venue you need as well as the number of guests your feeding or the guest count for the caterer. People can choose to say no if they want too.
What if you plan 50 seats at a venue and 100 people show up? Or you plan a small buffet for 25 people but 75 people show up? That is why the RSVP is so important.

I dunno, that's probably me hauling him off for not having a beard

WHOOPSIE!!!

Totally my bad.

I didn't find a picture of a bride carrying off a bearded husband... Silly me!!

Obviously, that's just you -- hauling him off to a secluded cabin -- so all he has to do is concentrate on growing out a long, luscious beard!! :D

have a bbq
Or picnic where people bring their own food IDK
What do you do to hold a gathering for people? Doesn't have to be a sit down meal, but if it is, there don't always need to be individual chairs. You can even sit on logs around a fire.

Is this @Tall_Timbers ? doesn't he have a beard and lives in the woods?

Are you trying to match-make again Seoul?

Jesus fed what, 5000 people with just 2 loaves and 3 fishes if I recall. They didn't RSVP

At a wedding, he turned water into wine.

hmm be interested in what people think 2 years later, whether marriage is still expensive or just the wedding.
I mean the cost of buying a house is still not cheap, even though its gone down but you'll be living in a block of terrace flats, or an apartment, not an actual house for your 'first home'.

Went from crappy condo apartment to 3500 square ft house.

Marriage rocks....something you cant put a price on. But it's not expensive....its something that you really cant live without if you really want to live.

It is the marriage responsibility. Couple can go in front of judge, pastors and get married, not expensive at all.

The couple lives together without marriage is not a Christian model to copy.

True you can do that, Me I don't hold gatherings, I can't event get my relatives together for a family reunion on either side, and my mom couldn't even be bothered to come to my college graduation. So far my only planned trip includes a trip to medieval times in Toronto, but every attendee had to pay their own way.

No it doesn't but how many meals do you know of where people stand up?
That is true, but you still need to know how many people are showing up to figure out how many logs you need for the fire or if you need multiple fires.
