- resting is finished, the clocks (the sun and moon) are no longer needed to measure out time.
When Jesus—the ultimate Light—dwells physically among His people, His unshielded glory provides a constant, unchanging reality. There is no more night, no more shadows, and no more sun setting, because the source of all life and purity is standing right in the center of the city. rev images>>
The Source of Light is God, Not the Sun
By creating light on Day 1 (Genesis 1:3) and the sun on Day 4 (Genesis 1:14-19), the text makes a massive statement to the ancient world:
The sun is not a god, and the sun is not the ultimate source of life.
In ancient Egypt, Babylon, and Canaan, people worshipped the sun (like the Egyptian god Ra) as the supreme creator and source of light. By separating light from the sun, Genesis strips the sun of its divine status. The Bible is saying that the sun is just a physical lampstand—a servant creation—while
God Himself is the true, independent source of all light.
The Day 1 Light Was the "Shekinah" Glory
Many biblical scholars and ancient Jewish rabbis believe that the light created on Day 1 was not regular physical sunlight, but the raw, unshielded manifestation of God’s own Glorious Presence, often called the
Shekinah glory.
Because the universe Earth was being prepared as a Holy Temple, God illuminated it with His Own Presence First. On Day 4, God essentially "clothed" or channeled that light into physical containers (the sun and moon) to act as c clocks for man beings.
The Perfect Bookends of the Bible
When you realize that light existed before the sun in Genesis, the Book of Revelation suddenly makes perfect sense. The Bible has a symmetrical, flawless structure:
- Genesis (The Beginning): You start with Light (Day 1), then the Sun is created (Day 4) to manage men time, days, and years.
- The Present Era:Man lives under the sun, using it to count our six days of labor and our one day of Sabbath completed to Jesus rest.
- Revelation (The Ending): The sun and moon are no longer needed (Revelation 21:23)
The Bible loops completely back to the conditions of Day In the eternal state, the "middlemen" (the sun and moon) are removed, and man returns to living directly in the raw, unfiltered light of God and the Lamb.
How This Connects to Rest and Cleanness
This circles back perfectly to your realization about the Sabbath. The sun was created to rule over a world defined by time, boundaries, changing seasons, and eventually—after the Fall—by the cycle of sin, decay, and death.
When Jesus "finished" the work of Purification on the cross, he broke the power of that decaying cycle. In the New Jerusalem, because there is no more sin, no more uncleanness, and no more spiritual death, there is no more need for a sun to mark the passing of days. The eternal Day 1 has returned, and the Light Himself provides permanent rest.
Now this light is inside and is to Shine ,if it wasnt true it would not have been Said
