I know Taylor Swift owns her own music. Well done Taylor for buying it back. After all she made it. Why can't she own it?

So...what happened to Marlon Brandon's island? Did he sell it before he died? Or is it now his childrens?

What would you buy with a billion dollars? Or what would you own.
a couple of very comfortable homes, not greatly extravagant, both with pools. 3 or 4 top quality vehicles. a high tech music studio. i would increase my cobalt blue stoneware collection & my coin dealing. i would initiate a gourmet restaurant. that's for starters right now.

holyheavens! we don't have a gst in america but the whole world knows we are taxed rediculously high, especially where i live which is n.y.
Well the entire kingdom of Israel split due to the issues over taxes.
I think King Solomon's COL was so extravagant that it crippled the economy having to maintain all his riches.

huh ok...interesting

Not. a cat? Or several?
Or maybe a zoo?

What would be a top quality vehicle for you?

Would you need to employ some people to look after your pools and homes? And some to drive your cars? Obvs to run a restaurant and the music studio. Maybe you could own a record label (can people still do so?) .

What's a cobalt blue stoneware collection? Is it a particular make, like IDK Royal Doulton or Temuka or something like that?
What would your restuarant be named? Karlon's?

i heard she's a billionaire
She is
I think one of the few female ones.
And was mostly due to her business savvy. I am not sure what she does with her money I suppose she does what she wants with it. Make more music and videos and those shimmery gowns. She probably has several properties and a private jet/entourage to help her do all the concerts and tours, and her own fan club merch.

I'd pay off my mortgage. Pay utility and property tax bills and add money as credit for future bills.

I'd fix my classic car to road worthy.

I'd start a no kill animal shelter and foster agency.

I'd open a homeless veterans shelter and business training facility. So folks could learn a trade.
And those sheltered would participate in our organizations equivalent of Habitat for Humanity.
Only,it would be homes built by formerly homeless veterans for homeless veterans.
So that all Vets sheltered at our facility would eventually have a home and a job at businesses we'd open so they could work after they were trained for a new career.

Just off the top of my head.

Sounds like the RSA's in NZ and Australia (Returned Services Associations)
Not sure if they built their own homes back then or got them built for them but they did have state housing given. Also had a bit of land/sections. I'm not sure if it was freehold land or if they could just rent it at below market rate.

The RSAs own clubs that have restaurants and bars where you can have a drink, play pool, have live entertainment, eat a good meal. You have to be a member or know a member to get in.

They would. have gone to trade school, or had their university entrance paid for back then. (like GI bill, except not have to pay it back)

It was a good time for them (hence baby boom) and also, there was plenty of land to be developed into suburbs back then. In NZ anyway. This was post-war 1945 though. The first World War veterans didn't have it so good, plus then another war came along!

They were near wiped out (Gallipoli!) and then after World War 2, there was the Vietnam war, and the few of our soldiers who went to that one were not given the time of day. Because it wasn't a war we were meant to be involved in. Actually it was a stupid war.

A Lamborghini.
Mores the pity.🥹😅

A new house.
Does every adult in the US own a lamborghini? Keeps coming up. I thought it was an Italian car.

Shouldn't it be a Ford, or a Tesla?

New houses are hard to come buy, but new shoebox apartments are not. They'll be the slums of the future.
