I read that in the US, ordinary people are their own kings. I came across a poster on here (from the US) who insisted he himself was King, and Mr T was his servant. I guess Mr T has been demoted from his own kingship by another american king.
I mean, are there too may chiefs and not enough Indians or is it the other way round?

I will read it when I get a chance to finish my other books first. I'm going to read The Princess by Wendy Holden on my TBR pile, it isn't nearly as long. I know the story already, but I just want to read another novelistic take on it.

My favorites are celebrities being hated by the masses of people who hate with 100% false certainty. Like preachers who hate Eve as if she is some kind of problem who eats fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, that is understanding. Then hating the serpent for telling the truth. Anyway I think of Zeus and Hera and Apollo and Athena who are told about in stories that can make them look problematic but teach a lesson. The thing about good and evil, the highest good and the highest evil are on the same team working together, like Jesus and Lucifer or Satan. Preachers who don't care about truth or reasoning automatically hold Satan as some kind of evil that hurts people, then read aloud statements about Satan that do no such a thing, Satan asks questions and makes statements but doesn't hurt anyone now does he?
um ok - sort of like Devil's advocate? Or trying to test people, to see if they are righteous or stay faithful?

In the US they have a homecoming king and queen I've heard, though I don't know what that is exactly. There is a Prom King and Queen. In the movie, Cady Heron gets crowned Queen with a plastic tiara at the Spring Fling, knocking out Regina. Regina gets hit by a bus.

In New Zealand we have a high school called King's College. Not for actual Kings but it was for boys that had wealthy parents in high places. It would have been interesting to work there and see what kind of education these boys got as kings-in-training.
I nearly went for the job (as librarian) but it was a bit far away and I didn't want to have a 2 hour commute or live as a boarder in an all-boys or mostly boys high school. I mean boys can be gross at that age and many still freak out whenever females are near.
