Oh I don't know. This is what Jesus said. Mat 19:9 And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.”You misunderstand the idea about divorce. You aren't committing adultery with someone just because they're divorced. It's only adultery if GOD brought that union together, and then they separate, then you marry them. The vast majority of marriages are NOT God brought. David and Bathsheba, Samson and Delilah are great examples. God even told Samson not to marry her. In Ezra 10, God told the people of Israel to divorce their spouses because they married people God didn't want them to be with. So I think you need to re-assess your understanding about divorce.
Don't leave out the beginning of Matthew 19 in verse 6Oh I don't know. This is what Jesus said. Mat 19:9 And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.”
So, according to you, this scripture is null and void except for the reasons you gave?
Who would make a woman his wife and not marry her? Does that happen? So much for "be fruitful and multiply." LOL
i just investigated that. all states have abolished that rule. don't know when that occurred. that's odd to me. especially since covid, aids & venereal disease you would think even more that states should have the blood test rule.Nope. Never had a blood test. Not sure where you heard that one...

I was married twice before I gave my life to Christ. First time I married in 2008 and wasn't required to get a blood test. Maybe it's because of the state you lived in.my wife & i married in 2017 & we had to get blood tests.
i think you are correct. sometimes doctors will highly recommend it which is proper to do so.I was married twice before I gave my life to Christ. First time I married in 2008 and wasn't required to get a blood test. Maybe it's because of the state you lived in.![]()
Dear friends, what is Christian marriage according to you?
Im practical. I dont get in debates about doctrines and things. The only reply that sticks is: if this here is your doctrine that you so held up about, how is it working for you? Fruit is a law. An apple tree dont struggle to produce apples, an apple tree just IS.Dear friends, what is Christian marriage according to you?

Let me clear something up cause it read squirelly. What I meant about the system is whacked, is that many Christians tend to overlook awesome folks cause they got in they mind there is only one compatible person that checks out with their grocery list of qualities they want. Thats all, and naw I aint married or nothing yet. These are things that I just had to learn 1st.Im practical. I dont get in debates about doctrines and things. The only reply that sticks is: if this here is your doctrine that you so held up about, how is it working for you? Fruit is a law. An apple tree dont struggle to produce apples, an apple tree just IS.
We Christians make simple things harder than peeing up a rope (its a saying dont get hussied.) Try this. Consider life is 4 stages, 1-120 yrs (yes I know many lived passed 120 in the Bible.) The 1st 30 yrs of life is spent learning. The 2nd is demonstrating what you learned. The 3-4th is TEACHING and being an influence.
Many done got married early in life and it worked. Those "high school sweethearts" stories just pull at my heart strings. I LOVE those. But in my case, as everybody is different, it involved wisdom from on High. Without maturing in my walk with Jesus and just hopping the broom, I wouldve been a good DAD but God taught me how to be a great FATHER.
I couldve been a hardworking husband and kind to a wife on my own, but God taught me how to pass down HIS kind of love from Him to me, and from me to her.
The moon reflects the sun; a woman always shines when her husband is a man after Gods own heart...it makes it just that easier to get HERS.
Now there go certains that are mandatory in certain cases. Personally, I dont think it smart to be unequally yoked. Some done did it, its addressed in the Word, but its there for a reason. One gone follow the other. There aint no serving two masters.
Keeping your *ahem, self to YOURSELF while waiting is another (yall know what I mean,) and "shacking up" aint how WE Kings kids do it. Leave that to the world. Yall do what yall want: I dont "rent" women.
If you cant handle being alone, you gone put unnecessary pressure on somebody else. Cant nobody MAKE you happy. Happiness is circumstantial, joy is from Jesus. JOY IS CONSTANT. There aint no such thing as two 1/2s making a whole. Its two wholes making ONE PERSON.
As far as divine pairings, YES they are done. But if yall only think there go only ONE person yall to be hitched with, do the math: the whole system is out of whack cause yall cant count the number of folks who done married the WRONG person.
If you spend the importance of your time building your relationship with Jesus, even Jesus knows you using HIS wisdom and He trust you to make decisions (for those who be thinking at times why aint He answering you.)
Heres marriage: When you love Jesus more than your spouse, and you see yourself as a steward of a priceless gift that He gave you, and you intend to serve them without expecting it in return.
Apologies if yall wanted a booklearned answer (ACTS 4:13.)
my wife & i married in 2017 & we had to get blood tests.
Did anyone say what that blood test is for?you'll have to have a blood test performed also.
blood tests are to see if anyone is carrying any infectious, transmittable & genetic issues. there has always been enough transmittable diseases in history without blood testing.Did anyone say what that blood test is for?
I need to ask around recently married people. Very new to me.
I was married long ago, never heard of blood test.
Is this testing for HIV?blood tests are to see if anyone is carrying any infectious, transmittable & genetic issues. there has always been enough transmittable diseases in history without blood testing.
i found out yesterday that all states have abolished blood tests for marriage. i imagine that when the tests were given, it was for hiv, vd & all the other common diseases. yes, amongst Christian churches, marriage counseling is a big issue. just a couple of weeks ago i found out thru my brother that a friend of ours son got married to a guy!!! holy heavens!!! we didn't even know the guy was gay!!! & he's a news reporter so now, everyone knows! Is this testing for HIV?
Is it compulsory in the US?
I have not heard of this for married couples altho I've heard in some churches they do some sort of pre-marital counselling. The pastor/reverend/vicar does this, if he's marrying the couple. I don't know if they have the power to veto a couple though or they just go somewhere else if he refuses to marry them.
I do know there are plenty of unmarried couples in churches that some believe are 'living in sin' but still attend even with their children, and the ministers don't bat an eye, and they can even be sons and daughters of the pastor/minister. Even same sex couples. They want people to attend and don't kick them out except if one has an affair/adultery with someone else in the congregation.
Well back in the day gay people had to live in closets and weren't allowed to come out, so I've heard.i found out yesterday that all states have abolished blood tests for marriage. i imagine that when the tests were given, it was for hiv, vd & all the other common diseases. yes, amongst Christian churches, marriage counseling is a big issue. just a couple of weeks ago i found out thru my brother that a friend of ours son got married to a guy!!! holy heavens!!! we didn't even know the guy was gay!!! & he's a news reporter so now, everyone knows!
sounds about right!I don't know what it means by 'common law doctrine of coverture'
I sort of surmise it means the wife is covered in some way by the husband in that he owns her and everything she has, including her body. For centuries it would seem it was only one way...
