Hello everyone! My name is Anna. I am still an inquirer so to speak. I've never been an atheist, somehow it just never seemed quite right? Which for a lot of time felt embarrassing, having grown up around atheists. I would consider myself an agnostic these days but I'm very attracted to the figure of Jesus and I find myself wanting to know more. I read my bible every day, scratch that, I want to read my bible every day and find it different of what I've been taught. I also love to watch videos about the orthodox saints and the desert fathers lol. I try to pray too and even though it feels a bit strange I get a weird peace. If there is a god, I do want a relationship with Him, not just for brownie point, so to speak but genuinely have a relationship because he sounds dope. I've been led to get some Christian friends because everyone around me is either an atheist or a tepid, not knowledgeable Christian (so a Christian only in name, never actually having cracked open a bible, more like a man of the robe followers than Jesus followers, I don't know if I'm making myself understood here, the adoration some have for parish priests is a bit off-putting). I want to make Christian friends, I am attracted to them in a way I didn't before. So basically I am in kind of a "soul searching" journey and would like to have people of sound mind to share it with and ask questions to or just, you know, talk about anything and everything.

That's all, friends. Hope I can have a place here too. See ya!

Hi ThatOneAnna lovely to have you joining us, welcome to CC! The Word says to 'seek God and you will find Him' and that's what you are doing. Re any church leader, they should not put themselves in a position of acclaim, they didn't die for us, only Jesus deserves the honor, praise and glory. Browse throught the threads and join in the ones you relate to, when you're ready, and meet some fellow believers😊 God bless and guide you in all your desires🙏🌷

Thank you. Now I think I shouldn't have mentioned it for it could sit wrong with some people. It's not my intention at all to be offensive, It's just something I have personally seen. I really hope I can make some friends and learn more. Thanks again for the welcome, TabinRivCA :)

Welcome aboard.
Bravely pray to almighty God, to reveal the truth to you. Carefully listening to God. May God direct your footsteps to find a local church as spiritual home.

Welcome. Jesus promised that if you seek Him, you will find Him. What hinders us from knowing Jesus is sin. We imagine that we are basically good people. But we are nowhere near good enough. God's standard is absolute perfection. And the wages of sin is death, not physical but spiritual. And we get to die in that condition, unless something can be done about it.

The good news is that God Himself provided the remedy for sin. The short version is that Jesus died for you, to pay the price of all your sin. Then He rose again for you so that you could have new life.

I suggest that you read the gospel (good news) of John. It was written especially so that we can believe. If you struggle with the idea that Jesus rose again from the dead, I suggest you contact professor James Tour. He is one of the world's leading scientists, but he also takes time to talk to those who are sincere seekers. He can arrange a zoom call. His email is [email protected]. He also has a "Jesus and Science" website with a contact form if you don't want to email him directly.

Welcome to CC Anna!

I wish for you to find much good fellowship here.

Matthew 7:

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Seek Him with all your heart and mind, and He will reveal Himself to you.

Romans 10:

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Place your belief, faith, and trust in Almighty God the Creator of all things - and His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ - Who died on the cross for you - so that you could live (spiritually speaking).

If there is a god, I do want a relationship with Him, not just for brownie point, so to speak but genuinely have a relationship because he sounds dope.
If you truly want a relationship with the one-and-only real-and-true living God:

Isaiah 46:

9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,

He exists. He is there. He is waiting for you. Because, He wants to have a relationship with you too!

Welcome ThatOneAnna, there are many discussions here in the various forums, and lots of different opinions as to what is correct. There are also lots of people willing to help, even if they are not certain they agree with you on some points. Poke around and find people you think you can get along with and join in conversations.

'A Christian life may surely be a daunting experience for the fact that every personality has
a different "mindset" and approach, and one must not become overwhelmed.

'An "unseen God" may surely be a profound "barrier" to cope with, which surely

is a universal human experience, not a personal or moral failure. A person should feel safe
and comfortable in their environment without judgement or a feeling of isolation or immediate correction.
All are in a learning process, though some may appear 'all knowing".
If not growing spiritually, one is surely not learning. Support and encouragement are to be
found within the community, hopefully.
"Guard the heart" ❤️
