When do you believe this separation of wheat and tares takes place?

I think a case can be made for it being the second coming cause it uses the phrase end of the age which Matthew 24 connects to the second coming.
I think a case can also be made that it fits nicely with the end of the millennium because it says the tares are burned out of his KINGDOM, and the wheat only remain which fits the fire coming down from heaven at the end of the millennium.

The wheat and tares will be separated when the saints are caught up to Jesus which happens before the millennial reign.

When Jesus comes back to take over the earth all the saints are with Him.

In the millennial reign Jesus rules from Jerusalem over the heathen which they will be in the flesh and the saints in glorified bodies.

So they are separate during the millennial reign.

So the separation will not happen before the millennial reign for it is already identified by the saints in glorified bodies and the heathen in the flesh.

God spared one sixth of the heathen so Jesus can rule over them.

During the millennium those of Israel will be the nation of priests they were intended to be. This would seem to require the "tares" to be removed at the beginning of the earthly kingdom.

The separation of wheat and tares happens at one moment only in Jesus’ own interpretation: “the harvest is the end of the age… the Son of Man shall send forth His angels… they shall gather out of His kingdom all things that offend… then shall the righteous shine forth” (Matthew 13:39–43).
The “end of the age” in Matthew always refers to the Second Coming, not a post‑millennial event (cf. Matthew 24:3; 24:30–31; 25:31–46), and Jesus explicitly ties the angelic gathering, the removal of the wicked, and the glorification of the righteous to His return, not to a later fire event.
Your second proposal (end of the millennium) breaks the parable’s logic because at the end of the millennium the wicked are not “in His kingdom” — Revelation 20 shows them outside, deceived by Satan, gathered against the saints, and destroyed by fire, not mingled among the righteous inside the kingdom.
Jesus’ parable requires coexistence of wheat and tares inside the kingdom until the moment He returns; Revelation’s end‑of‑millennium scene has no coexistence, only a final assault.
Therefore the separation of wheat and tares fits only the Second Coming, where Christ returns, sends His angels, removes the wicked from among the righteous, and inaugurates the final state.

I have a completely different take on this parable.

The event starts at Rev 14:14 with the last harvest going to the barn ( heaven ) ( resurrection and ( rapture )

The weeds ( unrighteous enter the vial or bowel judgements for more than 3 years.

Matthew 3:12
His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the granary, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”

Matthew 13:30
Let both grow together until the harvest; and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.’”

As terrible the Seal and Trumpet judgments are, they don't compare with the vial judgements,

21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. 22 And if those days had not been shortened, no human being would be saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.

Isaiah 13
I will make men more rare than fine gold,
And it begins here in what we call the Day of the Lord in Rev 14
The 1000 reign of Christ begins at Rev 14, that moment between the last Trumpet and the Vial judgements.
There are no one left who is righteous.

At what we call the second coming at the end of the Tribulation, there is no resurrection/rapture/
At the sheep/goat judgement the sheep are saved by works not faith

You’ve built a timeline where Revelation 14:14 magically becomes the rapture, the wheat gets air‑mailed to heaven, the weeds get shoved into the vials for a three‑year cosmic pressure‑washer, the Day of the Lord starts before the vials, the millennium starts before Armageddon, the second coming has no resurrection, the sheep are saved by works, and somehow all of this is supposed to be “reading what is there,” even though Revelation never says the harvest is the rapture, never says the vials last three years, never says the millennium begins in chapter 14, never says the second coming has no resurrection, never says the sheep are saved by works, and never says the wheat/tares parable is a pre‑vial evacuation plan; what you’ve actually created is a world‑system where the seals and trumpets are warm‑ups, the vials are the real tribulation, the righteous are gone before the vials, the earth is emptied of believers, the millennium begins mid‑Revelation, and Jesus returns at the end to judge people by works, which is impressive—because it requires ignoring every textual marker Jesus, Daniel, and John actually give you.

I gave you my opinion. Keep in mind the sheep are the nations ( gentiles ) who will repopulate the earth along with 1/3 of the survivng jews.

16 Then every one that survives of all the nations that have come against Jerusalem shall go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of booths. Zechariah 14

Yes, you did. I thank you for doing so. I'm just giving you the scripture. Which is not based on any one man's interpretation 2 Peter 1:20,

I agree OMC, but this is where the Lord has taken me over four decades and I am satisfied
I respect that. But as a teacher I must give correction where it is needed for those who have not spent 4 decades being led where you have. I offer the scripture as it is written. So the young can sort it out for themselves. That's all.

Interesting take, but doesnt revelation 20 teach a resurrection of the tribulation saints after the second coming?

I guess the big question is where are the tribulation saints judged? Apparently in Heaven

Surely they are Tribulation saints
They had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands

Comes back to me the Lord begins his reign at rev 14 called the Day of the Lord

it is a very good question

I would like to add:

Timing of all the dead from Pentecost till Day of the Lord ( Rev. 14 ) are resurrected here.

In 1 Cor. 5 we read about a man living with his mother as a married couple and Paul requested his life but saved in the Day of the Lord.

Meaning all of those who died, church and tribulation saints are resurrected at Rev 14 in my view. When one studies the Day of the Lord you quickly see it is not a one day event but a time period.

One other possibility for considertion is whether the tribulation saints are raised at his return to reign with the Lord in the millennium.

Now may I add something else here.

I'm a firm believer in a pre-tribulation rapture with no resurrection.

Opposite of the resurrection and no rapture at the weekend the lord was crucified

Recently I have meditate on this, Jesus said not to pull off the tare yet. They kind of support each other.

Our God is absolutely genius 🙌 🙏

The wheat‑and‑tares parable shows God forbidding early judgment so the righteous and wicked remain together until the harvest at the end of the age, when Christ returns and His angels finally separate us.😊

If we do gardening, we will know by pulling off weeds, the grass will come out too.

But of course if too much weeds, they will take over the grass.

But the rapture is after a resurrection, dead in Christ shall rise first. So if you believe in the pre-trib rapture you also believe in a pre-tribulation resurrection of those dead in Christ.
