Past weekend, church fellowship starting Friday night women Bible study about holy spirit, then Saturday pot luck church get together, then Sunday church again.
Really greatful for church community.

I noticed that many people here don't go to church. Actually, fellowship life is very important.

true.. we began attending church again back in July & its still super boring.

Once you start serving, it won't be boring anymore. But also if just visiting church, you can listen to a few different churches, then see which one to commit.
Help out in many areas, such as men s group, singing, teaching, cleaning, fixing... whatever talent you have.

I am going to teach English as 2nd language again as an outreach program. See who God bring to us.

i explained some oof that in a post awhile back. once, at a local church, decided to attend the men's breakfast; i was hardly spoken to, like i was invisible. too, i attended the games night & someone asked me iff i wanted play a game, i said yes, but they got someone else instead. lastly, i attended the church picnic, same thing, nobody wanted a conversation with me. i tried but no one as willing. 3 times, turned down. i could be the drummer in the church band but they just don't have the joy in the music. i don't want to be in a fake situation.

It takes time to warm up.
To me, the teaching , the statement of faith is important, then I will attend regularly to warm up.
Usually once you are there for a year, they will start you in some serving role, if one is born again baptised Christian.

i began attending that church in 99'.

Oh then, I don't know.

There is a person and adult kid come to our Sunday service, and after service they immediately leave.
We really want to say hello to them, invite them to our activities, but every time we turn around, they left.

The person has been to our church for over a decade, but on and off.

So we did tried....maybe we should try harder.

no, i don't think you should have tried more. i've been hurt so much in my life that now, it's just 1 try.

I came to our church over 30 years ago, a non believer. They welcomed me. Invited me for many activities, including Bible study, praying, God used them to lead me to Jesus.

there is still existing a stronghold in mid n.y. john bunyan, the great preacher way back, sensed it & skipped over the area after deciding to preach there. dead area for sure.

I often think church should have some level of charismatic, devine attraction, to attract people.
Scripture teaching very important, bus experience God's guidance everyday is equally important. The scripture comes to life.

i've been to a few friendly churches but the pastoring was terrible. a 1 service, a pastor said 3 times: "well its in the Bible somewhere"! he didn't know anything.

I think churches have a type of person they're designed for but that type is heavily influenced by culture. Those of us who don't fit that type find church difficult or all work and little getting back. Doesn't mean we should quit but it does mean that for many of us who've been in church for a while it's not been all the front of house propoganda makes it out to be. Also it's possible that for some of us we've been in church so long that the benefits of church have blended into our expectations of normal and are harder for us to see.
