Why Won't I Vote for Trump?

If I may: in the US the people are the sovereign. They are permitted to choose leaders who represent them. Without support from Evangelicals, Roman Catholics, and many other church congregations, Trump would not be president. More over, they continued to support him even after he was exposed as a serial philanderer & liar, admitting he never asks God for forgiveness and bragging about sexually assaulting women - a privilege of his power. The word of the Lord has come to the sovereign of the US, but the people refused to repent - doubling down on their support by electing Trump for a second term.

I first saw this pattern of blindness with the nomination of Mitt Romney - a man who was a leader in a religion Christians knew was a cult: Mormonism. But they allowed themselves to support "some evil" in a bid to prevent the greater evil (Obama) from winning the election.

I know the US church thinks general elections are the superior means by which leaders are chosen. But their greatest usefulness is to reveal the hearts of people who claim to love and trust the Truth.

Agree with you, churches opinion is important. It is not merely battle of flesh , but ultimately spiritual battle.

If people only knew the reality of the man who is in office, it is completely baffling how people still think he was appointed by God.

Of course God is sovereign over all.

But the law of the US declares that the people are sovereign over their country. That's why I began the sentence with "In the US..."

It does amaze me how Christians fall for the "claim" over and over again.

Then we have the ongoing use of "we cannot judge" approach, but of course that is only used for their guy.

There's a difference between the general election and the primary in America.

Also,I don't think someone who states they are not Christian has any credibility whatsoever in presuming what the U.S church thinks.

Your refusal to be corrected has no bearing on the spiritual efficacy of your traditions, or lack there of. You sound like most people who separate their lives into "secular" and "spiritual" categories (a tradition of the Roman church) so they might excuse their less-than-holy behavior. Your posture is very common. Some might say it is a wide path that many walk.

In Roman tradition, followers of philosophers were named after their masters. In the NT, the church are called "believers", "sons of God", "children of God", "saints", "my children", etc. The word "Christian" embodies a Roman philosophical tradition. We are more than followers of wise teachings. We are children of God in Christ.

It wasn’t until the 2nd century that the church, fully ensconced in Rome, began using the term to label themselves.

"Sons of God" is an identity that signifies our lineage, standard, and birthright. We are made sons IN Christ. We are not merely “followers of Christ” or “little Christs” according to the tradition of pagan philosophers. Christ is One, a many-membered being, of whom we are part. We are His body: the flesh and bones of the only Begotten of the Father.

So, to my point, it wouldn't do for me to believe one thing and then act in a way that is inconsistent with that belief. Like someone saying "We love truth and justice" but then voting for a man who who bragged about assaulting women and getting away with it because of his power an influence.

Trumps 1st term in my opinion was better.
2nd time around a few major issues, Iran war drag America to be slaves for Israel, Epstein.
