There is another interesting connection. According to the Romans at the time of the crucifixion, the death by crucifixion was so shameful that you weren't even supposed to talk about it. So when Paul said "I am not ashamed of the cross" he was directly responding to this unwritten rule. In the same way we saw that during the Pandemic. You couldn't talk about it, couldn't question it without being deplatformed and shadow banned or simply banned altogether. How many Christian podcasters went along with that rule to self censor their speech?

During the time of the almighty shot, my neighbor told me that she was "going to ride my ass until I got the shot." Interestingly, she moved a few months later. I think the Savior moved her away from my home. She was a good person per societies standards. But against God all the way. Those were the days of the test. Who would stand with God, and who would not.

The book of Revelation is an anti idolatry trial. The entire New Testament right up to Revelation 4 is dealing with the church so that we could stand as witnesses during this trial. If you are not filled with Christ you can't stand this trial. "Good people" is simply an illusion. There are those who are filled with Jesus and those who aren't just like we have tires filled with air and those that aren't. Sin is a hole in the tire that lets the air out. The pandemic exposed so many people who you would have thought were filled with Christ but when the test came they were simply flat tires.

John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

When you preach the gospel everyone you speak to counts. Suppose I talk to 100 people, and ten of them receive the word and 90 reject the word. Well that word will stick in them, judging them. It isn't the last day yet, so they can still repent. Think of the word as a seed that will later get watered and sprout. But if this person goes through their whole life rejecting every word that was sent to them by the Lord those words will judge them on the last day.

49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

Of course one exception is if you speak from yourself. What you need is a word, a commandment given to you by the father. "John bare witness, saying" and "Verily, verily, I say unto you" and "the two disciples heard Him speak" and "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness." So in conversation Jesus says what God has led Him to say while when He is giving a message He speaks what God has led Him that He should speak.

50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

God's commandment to us is "Life everlasting". That is the guiding commandment for what we should say and what we should speak. This may involve convicting people of sin and condemning sin, but it also includes forgiveness and mercy and grace.

John 13:10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. 11 For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.

Previously I have always focused on Jesus knowing who would betray Him and yet still choosing Judas as one of the twelve apostles. But consider this, Jesus didn't select random people, He chose the twelve apostles out of the disciples who were following Him. These were the people clinging to Jesus and yet one of them wasn't saved, wasn't born again, why?

Well it is like a piece of mud clinging to your feet. If you are going to be working as a servant of the Lord you cannot help but have some of these stick to you and cling to you.

So then what "washes these ones away"? According to this passage it was already in Judas heart to betray Jesus before He began to wash the feet, so that isn't the reason. The cross of Christ is what exposed the false believers, it is what causes them to let go and stop clinging to Jesus.

To the natural man the cross of Christ is foolish and weak. They want to stick to someone who is wise and powerful.

John 13:18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me.

Jesus doesn't explain to us why he needs to be scourged, or why He needs to be mocked by the soldiers or why He must wear a crown of thorns. We can figure that out for ourselves based on the Old Testament. But to be betrayed by someone who was close to you, who you helped, that requires that He explain it. So here He points out that it was prophesied and so it must be fulfilled. But why? Jesus is paying the price for every sin, including betrayal.

Judas doesn't repent, but that doesn't mean there aren't others during the church age who will betray people who cared for them and then later repent. When Jesus says we must take up the cross if we are to follow Him we can understand that includes mocking, scourging, and crucifixion. Hebrews lets us know that means we have to go without the camp and bear His shame. We can understand it means being an outcast. But it also means that someone close to you will betray you. You should not be surprised at family and friends betraying you. This will be very common during the tribulation. We got a foretaste of this during the pandemic.

Consider this, 89% of Americans over 65 are taking prescription pills. So if you know ten people over 65 chances are 9 of them are taking prescription pills. Do you know what they are taking? I don't. I don't ask. None of my business. Every year they have flu shots, do you know who took one and who didn't? I don't. None of my business. But that all changed during the pandemic. All of a sudden everyone wants to know who got the shot, who got the boosters, and if you didn't they would turn against you. If it were not for that we would not believe how bad it will be during the tribulation. The Pandemic was a very small crisis compared to the tribulation. At that time one days wages is just enough to feed you for one day. No more free food. If you can't work you die. If you don't get the mark of the beast you can't buy or sell. You will be an outcast, but it will be so heinous it will be like laying siege to a city to starve them into submission. Now if family and friends were betraying people during the pandemic you can be sure they will betray people during the tribulation.

John 13:21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. 22 Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake. 23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. 24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake. 25 He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it? 26 Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. 27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly. 28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him. 29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor. 30 He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night. 31 Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. 32 If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him.

God is not going to glorify Jesus as long as Judas is clinging to the ministry. Later Jesus tells Peter that Satan wants to sift Peter. God allows this. That indicates this is righteous judgement. The Lord sifted the apostles and removed the one that wasn't a genuine believer. As you have done, it will be done to you. So if the Lord can sift the apostles it is righteous that God allows Satan to also sift the apostles.

For example, consider Epstein Island. We are praying that the people involved in this would be exposed and prosecuted. That means we are praying for them to be sifted and those guilty to be removed from society. Well then, it is righteous if God allows Satan to do the same thing to the believers. Suppose you did something wrong that you haven't repented for and taken the blood of Jesus. That is fair game for Satan to attack. The people who went to Epstein island did something wrong and have tried to cover it up, how about you? Maybe it wasn't Epstein island, but have you ever done anything wrong and tried to cover it up? We need to examine ourselves.

If we compare this timeline of the crucifixion with the timeline of the rapture, it would indicate that we are right now between Yom Kippur and Feast of Tabernacles. During the days of awe you have a chance to examine yourself and repent. Then on Yom Kippur the books are examined and judgment is given. Only after that is the judgement executed. As soon as Judas leaves the dinner changes from the Passover feast to the Lord's table. Passover week is seven days long just as Feast of Tabernacles is seven days long. Jesus rose from the dead on the eighth day and the eighth day of Feast of Trumpets is "Shemini Atzeret". It is the day the Jews complete the reading of the Law and Prophets. The next day they start at the beginning. That is what those who are left behind are going to do, they will start again, at the beginning, to see that every scripture is talking about Jesus and the power of His resurrection, and the effectiveness of His death.

Everyone has secrets

The people who do evil try to keep it secret, but the same is true of the people who worship the Lord.

They give alms in secret

Matthew 6:4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

They pray in secret

Matthew 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

They fast in secret

Matthew 6:18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

The Lord's second coming is when the things done in secret are made manifest

Mark 4:22 For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.

Secret societies are evil

John 18:20 Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.

The day of the Lord is when the Lord will judge the secrets, whether good or evil

Romans 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

I believe God is righteous, that He will judge the living and the dead. So I don't need to be troubled about unrighteousness, in the end everyone will have to give an account to God. But Jesus is telling us to also believe in Him, the incarnated word of God. This is the means by which all things come into being which have come into being. I am praying that the kingdom would come, well the means by which it will come is the incarnated word of God. Not talking about debates and arguments over doctrine, talking about the word of God doing a work on me, to become one with me.

2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Each one of us has a place, a function, a roll to play. It is easy for us to look at others and think God has a roll for them, but not for me. That is one way in which our heart would be troubled. We are troubled when we see the wicked prosper and when it appears that there is no justice in the world. But what is more troubling is when we think that we are useless. But look at a palace, there are many rooms in that palace, every one of them has a function. Every one of them is useful. God has a place and a use for every one of us. If that wasn't the case the Lord would have told the apostles, He would have told them which people are useful and which aren't. He never said that anywhere in the gospels, so clearly that is not the case, every person can become useful in the Kingdom of God.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

So then, the reason Jesus has "gone away" during the church age, is to prepare a place for you. Think of the Galilean wedding, the son lives in the Father's house. He finds a bride, proposes, she accepts, and then He goes and builds an addition to the Father's house, a place for the bride. Jesus said "I will build my church". In Ephesians we learn the church is the temple of God. This is the "third temple". But this temple, this church, this is the place for us to dwell.

4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

If we are praying that "the kingdom would come and God's will would be done, on earth as it is in heaven" then clearly we know that the Lord is in Heaven. And the gospels all show us the way that Jesus took from His baptism to the cross.

5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

The problem is not that we don't know where Jesus is going or the way. We know it, the problem is we don't want to take that way. We don't want to be the scapegoat, we don't want to go outside the camp and bear the shame, and we don't want to bear our cross.

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

We can see the way the Lord took, we can see that no man in history ever took that way, so to say Jesus is the way is easy to understand. We also know that the words Jesus spoke are truth, they light the way and they are life, they strengthen us to walk this way. But here is the cool thing, it is like knowing a secret pathway, no one could ever walk this path without the truth lighting the way and the life strengthening them.

7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

I think the biggest regret anyone has who has followed the Lord is that they did not know how to pray. But if you know the Lord, you know what is possible. To know the Lord is to know what to go to the Father for. But after Jesus died and rose from the dead we all know to pray for the resurrection power, to pray for life that overcomes death.

8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

Answered prayer is a manifestation of the Father. When someone has answered prayer we can see the Father.

9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

Again, look at the gospels, it is all about answered prayer. There are somewhere between 50 and 65 specific instances of answered prayer in the gospels: prayers of Jesus, petitions to Jesus, and other prayers like Zechariah's prayer.

10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

This is the ultimate of any ministry, to be in the Father, the Father is in you, and the words you speak, not of yourself but God in you is speaking through you and doing the works. That is where Jesus was in His ministry and the promise here is that this is where we can ultimately be also.

11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

How was Jesus able to heal people? He was in the Father and the Father was in Him, He wasn't speaking from Himself, it was God the Father, the creator of all, speaking through Him and God was doing the work.

12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Jesus pioneered the way to the Father. It is like cutting the way through the forest for a road. But since that time this road has been paved, lights have been put along the road, signs are posted, and gas stations are set up along the way. When Jesus was on earth you had one man taking this way, today we have thousands taking this way.

13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

How do we know there are thousands taking this way? Whatever they ask in the Lord's name Jesus does so that the Father would be glorified in the Son. Answered prayer is the evidence that you are in the Son and the Son is in you.

14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Joel 1:1 The word of the Lord that came to Joel the son of Pethuel. 2 Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers? 3 Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation. 4 That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten. 5 Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.

This reminds us of the plague that hit Egypt, God's judgment on Egypt for their sins and abuse of the Israelites. Only this is striking God's people. So they have taken the sins of Egypt and so they are also reaping the judgment that Egypt got for those sins.

Now consider the US and pandemic. It also was like the plagues that hit Egypt and like the plagues that hit Israel when they embraced the sins of Egypt. In the same way the US has embraced the sins of the nations and now are also reaping the plagues of the nations.

Obviously I disagree with this man on one key issue. He is an orthodox Jew, a priest, who is looking for the coming of the Messiah.

I am a Christian who is looking for the second coming of the Messiah.

He thinks Christians need to repent and return to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

I think he needs to repent, receive Jesus Christ as the Messiah and say "blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ".

That said, he has very good information about what is happening in Israel and with Jerusalem and I believe that Israel is God's prophetic time piece. So if we want to know what is happening with the Lord's return we need to be aware of what is going on with Jerusalem.

I would also point out, and this is the reason I am sharing this, he has it on first hand information, something he himself has witnessed. The altar is completely ready. All they need to do is carry the stones up, place them on each other and the altar will be assembled. They could bring the tabernacle of David up onto the temple mount as well and that is all they need to begin with the oblations and sacrifices.
