Yeah, that could put a different spin on things, couldn't it?

Hebrews 9:28

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
So then what do you now think of prophecy, eschatology and dare I say it, futurist dispensationalism @HeIsHere @Pilgrimshope @Beekeeper @Churchgoer ?

I for one have ZERO inclination to adamantly oppose unequivocal and irrefutable Biblically grounded doctrine.
Rather, I seize onto it and closely guard it.

Acts 17:30–31

Paul's preaching to unbelievers:

“God... now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness...”

[Act 20:29-31 KJV]
29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

Yes, frustrating ... I think the people with the wrong view know they can concede any point otherwise the whole system falls apart, even when scripture is clear.
The Sermon on the Mount is not about Christ reigning in physical form on earth for 1000 years... that is such a stretch!!

Some are even "chomping at the bit" for end times death and destruction,

thinking they are going to have some high office with Jesus in a not biblically supported millennial reign.
If you look at the prophets it’s easy to see why they think what they do , but it’s a lack of letting the New Testament be true and letting Jesus and his apostles “interpret “ the prophecies .

ive noticed over time if we were to read the epistles as if they are explaining things it’s pretty basic to hear and believe but instead what tends to happen is single verses are removed and then “ interpreted “ to fit whatever the scenario and sibkect

abut if we let the gospel and those epistles be ehats establishing things it becomes simple plain and clear

Its when the plain things need to be re interpreted in order to explain what isn’t there that frustrates a conversation

Good point, agree completely!!

So agree that Christ Jesus and the apostles interpret the OT prophecies.

Do you hear it? The deafening radio silence from the CT's and amils?
Its so quiet on this thread that you could hear a pin drop..... ;)

This of course is standard behavior according to standard obfuscation protocols, as I said earlier.

As already pointed out, Jesus lived His life here keeping all of the OT commandment with perfection and in doing so He fulfilled the law. Those thinking he came to bring the law of Moses to Christians are in deep error and like the Galatians they have fallen from grace having rejected the Lord Jesus as their High Priest in order to follow the law of Moses.

Jesus said He came to do God's will and take the old covenant away in order to establish the New Covenant.
Hebrews 10:9 - Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

Some among us refuse to allow what the Lord says in His Word to get in the way of what they believe.
“As already pointed out, Jesus lived His life here keeping all of the OT commandment with perfection and in doing so He fulfilled the law.“

Jesus was without sin …. But no that’s not what it means to fulfill the law and prophets there are prophecies in the law about him he came to fulfill the law and prophets that spoke of him ……that’s why I quoted this way back yonder

He said this when he was with them

“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

this is when he explained what he meant

“And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

And ye are witnesses of these things.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:44-48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus came to fulfil what the Old Testament had been promising them a messiah a savior and redeemer a ruler and king from whole the law and eternal covenant would come ……the lion of Judah ! Son of David son of Abraham .

the ot is full of prophetic things about Christ that we’re fulfilled in the gospel which is why he explained it so plainly . Infact it’s repetetive

I am pretty sure of you guys would just read complete chapters in the nt you’d probably begin to know a lot of what they were tesching like instead of ignoring this try reading what an apostle was teaching Israelites here notice how the prophets were always foretelling the time then present in peters day and it was being fulfilled

“But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. ( the things written on the law prophets and psalms about him )

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; and he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭3:18-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The prophets were foretelling the times of the gospel.

“ obeying “ a law isn’t to “ fulfill anything “ the actual end and culmination of the law is the death of a sinner Christ died for sinners condemned by the law this is what removes its authority over a person when they die justice has been done and the law ends . It’s concluded and has nothing else to say to the dead sinner

“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:3-4‬ ‭

This is what removes the individual from the laws authority

“Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ;

that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

released from the law but married to the gospel which is far better and is the promise made to israel

I'm sorry, but I had to chuckle at that comment.

The problem is that Pilgrimshope is refusing to let ALL of God's Word be True. Jesus is God. He's in the Old Testament as much as the New Testament. BOTH ARE TRUE. We can't just let one override the other. It's ALL God's Word.

It's why Jesus said that He came to fulfill the law, but not destroy it. It's why Jesus said He would bring judgement on His old covenant people, but not destroy them. Like Job (in fact if you read the first 5 chapters of Job you'll see the correlation and the language of the entire people), he will bring them back to restoration and bless them better than He ever has before for 1,000 years. Once that is complete, we can ALL then FINALLY live together in peace in the permanent Kingdom of Heaven. Come Lord Jesus!! Whew!

And still, Jesus or His Apostles never taught Christians to live under the law of Moses.

He did until he died because he was preaching to those who were part of that old covenant when he died this became available to every one

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

notice he’s not saying “ go teach everyone the law of Moses and teach them to obey it “ instead he’s saying “ go teach all nations my word and teach them to observe it “

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:18-20‬ ‭

adter he died this became available

“Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭6:3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

which meant this

“Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ;

that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭7:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Think about the law a sinner when discovered was accused witnesses against and then killed by the people . There is no “ after you commit adultery repent and you’ll be forgiven “ instead it is “ take the harlot and adultery to the door of her fathers house and stone then until they die you must purge the evil from you “

ashen the person is killed for thier sin they die and the law of Moses has nothing to say after a sinner dies for sin . It has no address for a dead person never even speaks of them but to say they are cursed .

Jesus died for the sins we have all committed knowingly and in ignorance . Baptism is about his death being credited to the sinners account so the law of sin and death is fulfilled and the law doesn’t address this person anymore

abut what about the new person ? The born again person still living because Jesus does fornthier sins ? They have a better doctrine found in the doctrine of Christ

Christian’s are meant to observe Jesus word in the gospel

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

awe also need to understand the isralites Jesus was preaching to we’re all born under the law before he came and we’re obligated to observe the law that’s why he told them tomonterceed ehatever those in Moses seat told them it still had authority until ….. he died

“For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭9:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

before jesus does and she’s his blood of remission the law was still in authority after he died his words became the testament of force . The gospel is what he taught Christian’s to follow not the law but before he died he did tell isralites to keep it .

He did until he died

If He did then that would mean He lied:

In Luke 16:16 Jesus said: the law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it

He literally said the law and the prophets ceased with the coming of John the Baptist and the Gospel of the Kingdom started being taught which is the New Covenant. There's much teachings from demons going around today telling people they should ignore the teachings of Jesus

The Lord addresses this through Paul:

1 Timothy 6:3 - If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

While the law and the OT prophets were until John for new Christians, the Bible shows that God/Jesus intends for the old laws to remain among the Jews until He reveals Himself to them upon His Second Coming. Romans 11:25, Zechariah 12:10. But we also have John as a prophet who wrote the book of Revelation that sums up the OT and NT together.

While the law and the OT prophets were until John for new Christians

That's reading in to what the Lord said something He did not say.

The Lord is not schizophrenic where He says one thing and then does something else.

Those that try to live under the old covenant are fallen from grace like the Galatians

It helps when you look up the verses I give you.

While those living under the old covenant are currently considered fallen from grace, the Bible shows you in Zechariah 12:10 that God/Jesus will pour out His Spirit of grace and supplication on the House of David at His return. THEN they'll know what to do. God has a plan for the entire world and it's written throughout the entire Bible. That's why Jesus said what He did in Luke 24:44.

God/Jesus will pour out His Spirit of grace and supplication on the House of David at His return.

Yes and they will accept Jesus and get born again.

Jesus said unless a man is born again he cannot enter God's Kingdom.

THEN they'll know what to do.

They know what to do now but refuse to believe.

It helps when you look up the verses I give you.

It helps even more if you would accept the entire Word of God.

Agree.
Just follow Jesus.
But don't go ahead of Jesus. Jesus don't need us to lead Him.

Know our role.

Then you should have opened up the link to Romans 11:25 to know what it says that I gave you.
