1. Acts 12:4 — “Easter” vs. Pascha (Passover)
KJV: “intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.”
Greek: meta to pascha = after Passover.
Issue: Pascha never means Easter anywhere in Scripture.
Effect: Creates a Christian holiday in a Jewish context.
I've answered this dozens of times on here. Do you really think the KJV translators had a senior moment when they came to the word pascha? They had translated it every time as Passover. But something had changed. Christ fulfilled the Passover, the Passover Lamb. Passover was fulfilled. A new word was used to signify this, Easter. Whether Jews understood this or not, it makes no difference. The NT word is Easter, Christ our Passover Lamb.

Issue: “Repent” implies moral failure, which God does not have.
Effect: Misleads readers about God’s nature.
Not if you understand scripture. God has repented many times. Repent is simply a changing of course/mind.

Easter never “became” Passover — the two were never the same thing; the confusion comes from Acts 12:4 in the KJV, where “Easter” is used to translate the Greek word pascha, which always means Passover, never a pagan spring festival. The early English translators used “Easter” because in their world it was the common English word for the entire Passover‑season, but historically and biblically, pascha is the Jewish feast commemorating the Exodus, not rabbits, eggs, or spring fertility rites. The eggs and rabbit come from Germanic/Anglo‑Saxon fertility symbolism tied to spring — the hare was a symbol of rapid reproduction, and eggs symbolized new life; these were cultural additions, not biblical ones, and they entered Christian practice through medieval Europe, not through Scripture. None of this has anything to do with the biblical Passover, which is anchored in Exodus 12 and fulfilled in Christ (1 Cor 5:7). The world‑system move was simple: merge a biblical feast with local spring customs, then call the whole thing “Easter,” but the NT never uses that word, never commands the holiday, and never connects rabbits or eggs to the resurrection.

Brother, you’re actually agreeing with the point I made — repent in Scripture means change of course, change of declared action, change of response, not “turn from sin,” and that’s exactly why the KJV’s use of “repent” for God can mislead modern readers who only hear the moral sense; the Hebrew nāḥam never means moral failure when applied to God — it means relent, be moved, shift direction, which is why God “repents” in Exodus 32:14, Amos 7, and Jonah 3:10 without implying He sinned; humans repent from sin, God repents from judgment, and the difference is categorical; the issue isn’t that the KJV is wrong, it’s that English has shifted — “repent” today almost always means moral guilt, so when the KJV says “God repented,” a modern reader hears something the Hebrew does not say; your understanding is correct: God’s repentance is directional change, not moral correction, and that’s why I said the translation can mislead if the reader doesn’t know the biblical usage.

It makes it precise in the English language.
I hear what you’re saying — “and shalt be” does make the English flow smoother, but that’s not the issue; the issue is that the KJV translators inserted a phrase that is not in any Greek manuscript, and smoothing English is not the same thing as translating God’s words.

Anyone who doesn't believe the KJV is God's preserved word in English is probably going to hell; better repent before it's too late.

And I'm ok with that. I want the exact English words, and I've got every one of them in the KJV.
I want the exact English words, too. Without the KJV English translation, we would not be able to have a Greek TR that is settled, which I believe is the underlying Greek text of the KJV.

None of what you have stated makes the passages adds any value to what has been stated in God's word.
I would strongly disagree. If somebody translated the Bible into another language from the KJV, a person in that country could claim that they have the superior translation or the real words of God. Imagine if they had a translation in a particular word for a verse that was not exactly wrong but was less precise. Yet, they were determined to say that their translation was superior to yours. This is kind of how I see it when you say that the English appears to be more of an authority over the Greek as if the translation was the very original words that God dictated, when that is not the case. Again, I am not knocking the KJV by any means. I still see it as a translation that God divinely guided providentially. There is no error in the KJV. Nevertheless, it is not like the original language words that God had originally inspired. There are nuances of meaning not conveyed in English and grammatical forms in Greek, etc. So it will read different in the Greek and you would gain a slightly different angle or insight from reading it in the originals.

Necessary, no. Helpful, yes.
I believe it is necessary in these modern times for those who have access to such tools because if I tested everyone on their knowledge of the KJV wording, it is almost a sure fire bet they will misunderstand a few of the uncommon words in the KJV. The original languages acts as a buffer to prevent any such misunderstanding from even happening in the English. Also, there are important nuances of meaning for certain original language words, as well. There is even Acts 14:12 involving "Jupiter", too. See page 114 of my PDF writeup here:

"Is Knowledge of the Original Languages Necessary for KJV Believers?"

And that goes for any translation you choose to read, not just the KJV.
The problem is that most other popular translations teach false doctrines.
So either one tackles the archaic English in the KJV + Its underlying Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, or they go Critical Text Bibles that are easier to read but have corrupt doctrines and footnotes getting you to doubt various readings in the Bible.

One does not need to know "Elizabethan" English to understand the KJV.
“Jacobean” is the more precise historical label for the KJV, published in 1611, during James I’s reign (1603–1625). Elizabeth I’s reign ended in 1603.

It defines itself through context.
I wish that was the case. But I guarantee you that you would get some wrong even by using this method. How do I know? Well, because I used to be in your position. I have come away with a false understanding on certain words in the KJV with my English only approach. Once I knew what the underlying original language word said, I was able to properly identify the archaic or uncommon word in the KJV. Granted, this was not all the time, but it has happened in a few places for sure. It's why I am reworking my 77 Changed Doctrines writeup. Knowing the original languages and the history and origins of words has helped me tremendously on understanding the difference on Isaiah 14:12 vs. Revelation 22:16. The write up is huge and I have lots of scholarly links and sources for people to check it for themselves. It's about defending God's word and giving a proper apologetic. So far, nobody has really done this one justice. So I am really excited to finish this writeup.

Do you believe that our God, who gave us his word, commanded us to live by every one of his words, was he able to preserve his words in a book? If so, where are they?
I believe the book of the Lord in Isaiah is the KJV. Granted, I think it may also possibly include the underlying Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek too. We are moving towards a time when technology is making things multi-layered. What I mean by this is that imagine a hologram of the KJV that you can touch with your hands and even turn its pages. You can zoom in on a word and grab that word off the page and it will open up to a bunch of maps and history for that word and give you the meaning Greek with older lexicons that the KJV translators would have most likely used and more. You can even speak a command and ask to see more on a particular thing you were reading in a lexicon or article from that hologram. This could be the form of the book of the Lord in the future if the Lord does not return before then.

Anyone who doesn't believe the KJV is God's preserved word in English is probably going to hell; better repent before it's too late.
Those who are ignorant of the issues involved and who do not treat the Bible as if it was a piece of meat to be chopped up in their mind are saved if they honor God's grace in this life. I even fellowship once a year with a believer who is not KJV-only. So, this topic can be a salvation issue. It just depends on how far or deep somebody goes and where they cross that line in perverting the words of the Lord. The Lord knows who truly are His and so I am not striving to throw down the hammer of judgment in this area. I prefer to attack the wrong belief rather than any specific individuals unless they are really heretical in other ways (like if they reject the Trinity, and promote the idea you can abide in gross sin and still be saved, etcetera.).

At the end of the day, we are not preaching from the same exact precise words of God.
Post Modernists believe in a shape-shifter Critical Text and conflicting Modern English Translations, whereby they become the authority in deciding what is an error or not and thus create a jig saw puzzle of a Bible in their own minds to preach from.
Many or most TR/KJV Believers just receive the Bible as the settled words of God and preach from it. They are not looking to change those words, although some of them do have private interpretations by not reading the text correctly at times. However, they are not looking for new words from God in a few years like the crazy Charismatics.
