Just wondering, why the caption on one of your photos says, "City of London - not any part of England." Of course the City of London is part of England. It isn't some kind of mini-state within England. It's not like the Vatican, which indeed is not officially part of Italy. (Or did the caption mean, "The City of London. An important place, not just any old part of England"?

Just ignore it David, like you you ignored all the other points I made in this thread. lol

Because I am English, and live in the UK, it just struck me as a strange caption, saying that the City of London is not part of England. I am sorry you feel that I ignored all the other points you have made on this thread, but as that was my only post on this thread, I feel that is rather an unfair accusation. Surely when people reply to posts on Christian Chat, they don't need make mention of every point made in the thread by the poster to whom they are replying.

Totally fair post David. So, anything you agree with, that I posted, or just wanted to highlight something you don't agree with?
Maybe you already knew about the Calendar that you use, that is named after pagan gods?!?! I'm just not gonna bother defending needle in the hay stack arguments. Do you see the hay stack? That's really my point.

It would be like me arguing, that's not my photo, that I posted. Why are you claiming, that it's my photo? I assure, it's not my photo. You get what am I saying? Basically, I'm done arguing. I'm making some pretty amazing points, but people want to find a needle in the hay stack, and say, I don't agree with this strawman view point. Anyways.

How is your new King doing? Have you read the book, The Antichrist and a cup of tea? I thought it was a good read.

Yes, I know that most of the months are named after pagan gods, so are the days of the week.

Sorry about saying "your photo." I should have written, "One of the photos in your post."

I don't know how Charles III is doing. He seems to have some strange ideas about Christianity. I pray that God will truly save him. No, I haven't read the book you mention.

Don't you think it's rather odd, that someone is claiming the "vicor of christ", which is another title of the Roman Bishop, that creates a calendar with pagan gods in it? Seems odd. It's almost like, we are not suppose to notice or something. lol

I would like to ask why hasn't anyone ever changed the name of the days or months, to reflect a Christian viewpoint? You never hear atheist ramble on about the days of the week either. Rather strange to me.

Maybe Trump can do an executive odor to change the calendar. Someone should.

To be quite honest, I don't know who gave the months their names in English. I do know that the Quakers used numbers for the days of the week.

It's probably the conspiracy theory about the City of London "Corporation". The same goes for DC- the conspiracy view is that these "corporations" arent proper government bodies.

What is your proposal for the names of the days and months?

I was trying to keep the topic in line with the thread, which I why I chose this thread to write in. Also, since it relates to the SDA Prophecy. I really believe the O.P. is SDA, since he was pretty much echoing what that church teaches.

As far as other faiths, the Roman Bishop pretty much blurs the lines in other faiths all day long. You know about the heathen infiltration in Catholic doctrine? Like Sun "worship", worship on "SUNDAY", the calender the most everyone uses is the Gorgian Calendar.

You do know many Reformers/Protestant Leaders named the office of the Vatican as the anti-christ?!?! The Catholic Church pretty much swallows up all religions, and tries to be the leader. The Catholic Church's calendar literally names the days of the weeks for Pagan gods, Calendar is based on the sun's orbit, and months are named after pagan gods and Roman Emperors.

You can believe whatever you want, but I figure it's good to share some knowledge. What you do with it, is entirely up to you.

"The Gregorian calendar is the modern solar calendar introduced in 1582 by Pope Gregory XIII to replace the Julian calendar and is now the world’s most widely used civil calendar." random quote

"Many Pagan traditions honor the sun, often personifying it as a deity, but sun worship is typically symbolic rather than literal worship of the sun itself." random quote

---------------------------------------------------
“But the plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place among whom are the Muslims: these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”
"While not a formal dialogue, the Hindu-Catholic consultation hosts a public Hindu-Catholic encounter as part of the annual meeting."

The Romans named the days of the week after their own gods, long before Catholicism was a thing. I don't know any Christian who would rename the days just because they refer to false gods. The names we have now are from the Anglo Saxons, who replaced 5 Roman names with their Norse gods. SDA bangs on about "sun" day. So it's better to worship on a day devoted to the Roman god Saturn? Give me a break.

The vast majority of people treat the names of the days of the week as just names, with no spiritual significance at all. Before I retired, Friday was the blessed day before the weekend. And that was it. No doubt around 400 million English speakers agree,

The English days of the week were established by the Anglo Saxons. Since America has church/state division, I doubt that Mr Trump could change them on a religious basis. And obviously no one cares enough to change them. To me, it would be like not liking the word "dog" and changing for the sake of it. Oh. That's happening. "Doggo", "Pupper", " fur baby"....... excuse me while I find a bucket.

The effort and resources required to change the names of the days of the week are enormous. Every calendar, on phone, computer and printed would have to be changed. And the reeducation required? America can't even adopt metric units, let alone a change in the names of the days of the week. And why would the rest of the world follow suit? And who gets to choose new names?

Perhaps we need a survey to find new names that suit. It probably would be best to keep the first letter of each day the same. That way I would not have to get a new daily pill container.

Let's see.......... Morose day. It's the day most people start the working week
Trauma day. Recovering from the previous day
Wonder day. Wondering how we will get through the rest of the week
Triumph day. Made it this far.
Finish day. Weekend coming
Shiftless day. No paid work
Sleepy day. Unless you go to church...........

Best I can do at short notice. Other suggestions welcome.

Not true, you know me. I spent twenty years with a group that referred to the Lord's day, the first day of the week, etc. Neither did they celebrate "Christmas" or "Easter" for the same reason.
