Do church labels matter to you like baptist or Pentecostal?

My point is, you can't assume people by their denomination. No one can truly know if any other person is "Born Again." I am just saying that based off of their lives, and how they conduct themselves, which i have felt is the best way to gauge it.

That's just true in general for me though. If someone says "I'm a Christian", it doesn't mean much to me until I can see what their walk is like and discuss things with them to see what is really there.

I also don't think I could consider someone who holds their specific church or denomination on such a high level that they believe everything spoken at the place and will agree with anything there even without praying, studying God's word, and testing it for themselves. I won't ever put a label on myself.

To the original poster: Yes, it can matter to me. There are some that do things I don't agree with, and hold to different beliefs, etc. My belief on salvation is the core thing, but some other things do matter.
Also, you mentioned Mormons. That's a whole other thing. I don't know how much you've looked into their belief system, but it wouldn't take too much looking to see just how different it is.

Works are a portion. There are some organizations that provide service such as feeding and clothing the poor, but ignore other things, and have liberal attitudes toward the leadership in the church. One group specifically doesn't even believe in Baptism. You cannot have works alone, as if that is gonna get you into heaven.

I believe in works but God is so much bigger than that and requires much more of us.
 
No more denominations please Lord......if your saved, love and seeking to obey the Lord.......check. Being filled with the Holy Spirit.....check. Ok by God's grace lets go and save some people.

Jesus says we will lay hands on the sick and they will recover, drive out demons in His name, and speak in new tongues, not just charasmatics. Remove the denominations and people will have to seek God more, not mans take on Him.

We need God to move and get rid of this religious nonsense. People slip into a lost eternity whilst Christians argue
