I wish I had a story for this thread. There was one stranger who said something to me that didn't change my life, but oddly enough, I think she may have been an angel...but its a boring story. I know because I told it once.

I was sitting in a mall once when I decided to talk to the man next to me. I said, "Hi my name is Opal and I'm deaf-blind but you can communicate with me by writing block letters on my palm." Well, it turns out he was deaf-blind too, and was sitting with his wife who's sighted-hearing and an interpreter for the deaf-blind. She intervened and told him what I said and then we got to communicating directly. I was new to deaf-blindness and scared. He had been deaf-blind 32 years at the time and not only taught me all sorts of invaluable skills related to deaf-blindness, but both him and his wife started to teach me about the Bible. It is through them that I came to know about God and Jesus, and started learning about the Bible, though I still have a lot more to learn. Since then I have regained my hearing through a God-given miracle and have moved to another town, but I hope to see them sometime soon again. They are like another set of parents to me, in spirit. Talking to them that day has changed my life forever. It's amazing how God works in His ways, and carefully plans the people you meet in your life to give you the best. Thanks be to God for the miracles He gives us each and every day!

---This was a great idea for a thread. I have really enjoyed reading everyone's stories, some of them could still be changing people's lives as they read them.
I'm not someone who talks that much with 'strangers', but I don't even think you have to talk with someone to make a difference. I remember once standing in line at a busy store. Everyone seemed to be in a bad mood and complaining about the service and such. I remember I was smiling (out of habit) and the person in front of me turned back, I said 'hello, how are you?" and the conversation lasted only a few moments, but she was then smiling. It was odd and amazing to watch the line after that because she turned and starting to talking with the next person. It was a chain reaction, the faces and conversations in line changed. The Lord showed me that our countenance really does have an effect on people.
After I made my purchase and was leaving a woman came up to me and randomly said, "I have been watching, you must love the Lord". I was shocked and didn't know what to say other than, 'yes, I do.' I didn't once talk about the Lord, but the lady took it that way. I learned a lot the power of choosing to be positive. Our God is truly a great God!
The power of our great God is sooo amazingly real. Don't even need to say a thing do we, justgrinwithyourchin? All we need to do is show Jesus through our actions, verbal, EVEN non-verbal,
what Jesus would do, what will make God, like He was with David, 'well-pleased, . What we need to do is simple: Yoke to Him, just pray for help as we are talking to someone and our 'helper,' per scripture in gospel books part of John The Baptist baptizing Jesus, the Holy Spirit will reach OUT and touch (rescue?) someone drowning in sin and guilt and pain. Our God is THE awesome God, The One and only.

It wasn't boring to me, but to anyone who hears it, it is. I wasn't in any danger or anything like that. A stranger came up to me one day and said something to me, at the time it didn't mean much but a couple years later it meant everything.

Oh its not my testimony, Ed. In fact it happened about a year or so before I gave my life to God. Its just someone who came up to me in a parking lot one day. Like I said, it didn't change my life. It was about 2 years later when what that person said really meant so much to me, so the meeting itself is boring to tell.

Speaking of strangeness, their is a strangeness to 'testimony' that is a REALLY weird kind of wonderful . And with telling our testimonies, we can open up the door for the lost to see how easy it is to come in
to the arms of Jeeeeeeeesus .

Ope, good story, God works through all kinds of people, sometime ago in my life I took in a stranger to my place and how he left-being so cheerful at my house 2-3 days and then he have me his name, address, phone number, but when I went to address , no such address, no such phone # either- made me think, still does, make me think I entertained an ángel unaware.
I say this story here quickly because my life was at a crossroads of morality paths (not spirituality but, who knows, maybe that was in jeopardy too) and this person must have said things to me that got me going new direction because I left things I was doing that were against God ways, selfish choices, that were making me unable to do God's leading in my life like He knew that I, deep down inside, wanted to do.

That's tongue in cheek figure of speech, peeps. But, Yeah, we ALL know who knew. God knew. And, He knows us and when we choose to do something out of the box , like taking home a stranger in the parking lot you met after watching a cousin's soccer game , and, the stranger smells worse than the color, 'pink,'
, and, is 70 years old (and you are 23) and, well, just a stranger, guys (and, girls, I suggest you only bring home a elderly lady stranger, not an elderly guy), God works. I am sure that stranger was blessed by my taking care of him with meals a couple or so days, but I was blessed ! The encounter helped to get me away from potentially evil things getting a grip on me and God SUPERNATURALLY stepped in .
So I guess IF you want you can reverse the question, too, and , tell of a time that a stranger helped you in your life , like zere is about to do

One of my favorite all-time movie lines, by the way , is when the Joker in the original (best) Batman, says to his henchman after think he just electrocuted one of the dudes, anyway, Jack nicholson (joker) said: ' go, go, go with a smile.'.
